4 Rayleigh saves the day, or does he?

POV Rayleigh:

Walking into Shakky's Rip-Off bar I see my wife of twelve years. Marrying my old business partner wasn't something I had ever expected to happen. Especially since I had a child with another woman. 'Hah, I guess the legendary Dark King still has some charm after all' I thought to myself with a small smirk on my face.

Due it being his grandson's birthday he left the house early to pick up the birthday cake Shakky had made. Thinking of his grandson his thoughts became conflicted. His grandson has an extreme desire to get stronger. Everyday since he turned four he had started exercising for two hours and he comes home covered in sweat. Every. Single. Day. 'I've never seen such dedication in someone so young before' I thought, impressed by my grandson.

Sighing to myself, I thought of my last family member. 'Should I train him? If I train him he would want to go on an adventure, that would put him in a lot of danger. On the other hand, I can't always be there for him. If he runs into a situation where he is hurt, or god forbid killed, because he was weak, then it's my fault.'

'It's decided, I'll train him so he will be ready for the future. Whatever challenges the new era may have for him, he'll be ready' I thought.

"There's rumors of a Celestial Dragon walking towards the spot Asahi usually trains at." Shakky said, bringing me out my own thoughts.

Feeling a frown quickly surfacing on my face I spread out my observation haki. It easily covers the entire island. Focusing on the spot Asahi frequently trains at, I quickly recognize his spiritual energy. It seems like he's running away from a group of people. They don't seem to be running after him. Yet they're still going in the same direction.

'He's safe right now, but I'll keep an eye on him with my observation haki, and I'll intervene if he's in trouble.' I thought to myself, the frown not leaving my face.

POV Switch —----> 3rd person

Getting in trouble with the Celestial Dragons and subsequently the marines is the last thing Rayleigh wants right now. If they decide to call in a marine admiral Rayleigh knew he could handle himself, but his five year old grandson wouldn't stand a chance. Shakky's area of expertise lies within intelligence gathering, and while she could hold her own against most marines and pirates she is no longer in her prime and hasn't fought in a few years. They could also decide to issue a buster call. That would kill countless civilians. Safe to say, pissing off a Celestial Dragon isn't at the top of his bucket list.

—--------------------------------------------Line Break—----------------------------------------------

The Celestial Dragon gazed down at the young child who just tried to attack him. The CP 0 agents made short work of him. 'This child has ruined my plan of giving the fruit to my best fighter' he thought to himself. Although this does open a new window of opportunities. The kid is still young, he can be trained. 'I'll be sure to discipline him thoroughly so he won't even get an idea about attacking me ever again. He's lucky I'm in a good mood' he thought to himself. '

"You there!" the noble said pointing at a random marine officer.

"Yes sir" the officer responded while saluting.

"Brand him with the slave mark and bring me an explosive slave collar." he ordered the marine.

"Right away sir!" came the response from the marine officer as he left to complete the assignment he got.

—-------------------------------------Line Break—-------------------------------

All the personnel accompanying the World Noble had failed to notice a certain white haired man watching them from afar with a frown on his face.

When Rayleigh felt Asahi getting confronted he had closed the distance to the beach in a matter of seconds. Right now he was observing what they were doing with his observation haki to make sure no more harm is inflicted on his grandson. But when he saw the marine officer who left earlier come back with an explosive slave collar Rayleigh knew he had to act.

Faster than what any of the CP 0 agents or marines could perceive Rayleigh kicked off the ground, seemingly flying towards Asahi at an incomprehensible speed for the average person. Before anyone could react he had picked up Asahi and they were already gone, no traces left behind.

AN: So yeah, I decided not to go with the slave route since it seemed fairly unpopular. I had an idea of making the MC a slave forced to fight for the enjoyment of the World Nobles. That way he would get stronger both physically and he would improve his devil fruit. Later on when he frees himself and other slaves he finds Rayleigh or someone else who begins to teach him the basics of haki. Anyway, we're not going that route now, so I'm planning something else. Hope you enjoyed the chapter and have a good evening! reviews and criticism are appreciated!
