Inviting Nami

On the merchant ship, there was a young girl with orange staring at Luffy and Coby with anger in her eyes but her eyes stared more at the treasure bag on that boat.

'Damn it! That treasure should belong to me. I was just a few steps away from stealing those treasures.'

Thinking about it, she clenched her fist.

She took a deep breath and looked at Luffy's boat with reluctance. She turned around.

Just when she was about to give up, she heard Luffy's words and an idea came to her mind.

She raised her hand and shouted.

"Hey wait! Can you please take me to Shells Town?"

Luffy heard her voice and turned his head. When he saw Nami shouting from the ship, his eyes shrunk and a playful smile appeared on his lips.

"Miss, what are you doing?

A green-haired gentleman immediately shouted at Nami but Nami wasn't in the mood to care about him.

Luffy pulled the boat closer to the merchant ship and those merchants immediately moved away in fear.

"Aren't you afraid of me? I am a pirate." Luffy raised his head and asked.

"But, aren't you helping him join the Marines?" Nami pointed her finger at Coby and asked.

"But, he is a dreamer. You are not." Luffy pointed his finger at her and said.

"How do you know?" Nami shouted at him. She was also a dreamer. Her dream was to crave the map of the world.

"So tell me, what is your dream?" Luffy asked.

Nami suddenly jerked back. She clenched her fist with fear appearing in her eyes. She turned her head at Luffy and shouted.

"What does that have anything to do with you?"

When she spoke with a loud voice, those people on the ship almost died down.

"See? You are not a dreamer. Even a coward like him has the courage to speak of his dream. You are such a brave person, even shouting in front of a pirate. How could you have a dream?"

Luffy pressed down his hat and turned around.

Hearing his words, Nami was stunned for a moment. Suddenly, her emotions gushed into tears as she shouted.

"Stop! I don't accept it. I am also a dreamer. My dream is to sketch the map of the world."

The sound traveled into the vast sea and it stunned everyone for a moment.

Only Luffy who slowly raised his straw hat had a big grin on his face. Unlike before, this grin looked a bit more genuine, a bit more like true Luffy.

He drove his boat next to the ship and simply waited.

Nami who was stunned for a long time finally realized Luffy's action and quickly jumped on the boat.

For some reason, she wasn't afraid of Luffy.

"Alright, let's set sail!"

Luffy extended his hands toward the sky and shouted with excitement. This time, he finally doesn't have to worry about Navigation.

Because the best navigator in the world was next to him.

"You know what. You truly don't look like a pirate."

Nami looked at Luffy's face for a long time and finally sighed.

As the boat sailed away, Luffy turned back and shook his head.

"That's because you don't know the true pirates."

"What does that mean?" Nami asked.

"Being a pirate isn't about good or bad. It's because of being free. And, king of the pirates represents absolute freedom."

"So, as a pirate, it is your own will to do anything you want and you are not bound by any rules. That's why there are so many "Evil" Pirates. All human beings are evil but only those who can control their desire become good people."

"Even the Marines have a lot of worst people that could ever live in this world."

Luffy answered.

"What? That's impossible. Marines are the good people." Coby instantly shook his head and shouted.

"Do you think giving the order to kill thousands of lives just so that they can prevent one life from being born just because that life was born out of a person they considered evil is justice?" Luffy expressionlessly asked.

When he heard Luffy, Coby stumbled back and fell on his butt as he asked.

"W-w-what do you mean?"

"You don't know the truth right now. Soon, when you join the marine and rise up in the ranks, you will understand just how dark Marines truly are."

"That's why I don't want to become a Marine. With my identity, being an ordinary person in a small village is impossible. So, I can only become a pirate."

"Of course, there are still a lot of good marines out there. You need to join them and find the truth yourself." Luffy said as he slowly turned around.

"So, are you a good pirate?" Nami asked.

"What do you think?" Luffy replied.

"I think you are a good pirate." Nami hesitated for a moment before finally answering.

"Then, if one day, my brother gets caught by the Marines and to set him free, I will enter the Impel Down which holds thousands of the worst criminals in the world. During this process, I need stronger people to get my brother out so I release more people."

"These people aren't like me. They are the worst criminals who would do all kinds of evil things such as killing and burning the village. So, now, do you still consider me a good pirate?"

Luffy asked.

His words stunned them for a moment.

Nami didn't know how to answer the question. She felt like her view of pirates was slowly collapsing.

Luffy shook his head and said.

"I am neither a good pirate nor a bad pirate. I am just a pirate. As I said, pirates are free to do whatever they want."

"I don't like robing other people. I don't like bullying the weak unless I have a reason to. I don't like injustice and other people harming my friends. Since I don't like it, why would I do it?"

His answer made Nami and Coby speechless. They really don't see any reason to deny his words.

Because he was exactly doing what he wants to do.

"Alright, let's go to the Shells Town first."

Luffy shook his head and answered.

Then, he turned around and asked.

"By the way, did you hear about Roronoa Zoro from Shells Town?"

Coby nodded his head and spoke.

"Yes, I heard that he was caught by the Marines. Wait, why are you asking this?"

"I heard that he has a great ambition to become the world's greatest swordsman. Since I am going to be the pirate king, my first mate must be at least the World's Greatest Swordsman."

Luffy chuckled.

"What? Do you want to become the Pirate King? Impossible! Impossible!"

Coby screamed in fright and shook his head in denial.

Nami also widened her mouth and asked.

"Are you having a fever? Do you know how many people wants to become the Pirate King but no one succeeded?"

She even checked his forehead just to ensure that he wasn't having a fever.

Bang! Bang!

Luffy stretched his hands and smacked their heads.

"Can you two stop screaming? I am going to become the Pirate King. That's it. So, before that, I must gather a crew of dreamers."

"World's Greatest Swordsman, World's Greatest Chef, World's Greatest Navigator, World's Greatest Sniper, World's Greatest Historian, World's Greatest Shipbuilder, World's Greatest Helmsman, World's Greatest Doctor, and finally World's Greatest Musician."

"They might not be the best from the start but I believe by the time we find One Piece, they will definitely become the best in this world. Because only the best crew can help me become the Pirate King."

Hearing his words, Nami and Coby were speechless once again. Suddenly, Luffy squinted his eyes toward Nami and asked.

"You want to draw the map of the world, right? Do you want to become my Navigator?"

"No, I hate pirates." Nami instantly shook her head and denied his invitation. Gradually, she discovered that Luffy wasn't as evil as she thought but it didn't mean she would love to follow him.

Even if she had a dream, she couldn't leave since she had to buy her village from Arlong.

"Well, you must have your own difficulties. By the way, what's your name?" Luffy asked.

"My name is Nami." Nami replied.

Luffy nodded his head and the boat slowly moved toward the Shells Town.

On the way, Luffy turned his attention toward the System.

'Since I no longer need Navigation Skill, I don't have to spend more Evolution Points on it. I am sure to get Nami as my Navigator but before that, if I can make her believe in my strength, it would be a lot easier for her to join my crew.'

'Since I don't need other lifestyle skills. I should focus on something else. I didn't get any Awakening Points from the system which means I can't awaken any skills so I have to put my Evolution points in either body or devil fruit.'
