9 Fighting Black Cat Pirates

It has been two days since their boat has sailed from Orange Town. Slowly, but surely they were reaching closer and closer to the Syrup Village.

It was a damp morning. The sea was covered with fog while three people stayed on a small boat.

There were two barrels as well.

Among three, only one of them had his eyes open. This person was none other than Luffy.

'This is the third day which means we should've reached Syrup Village. Now, let's think about my Awakening Points and Evolution Points.'

Normally, he should've chosen to use his AP and EP as soon as he got those. But, he realized something.

While it was a good thing to put these points to evolve his strength, he didn't know what exactly should he focus on improving.

He was afraid that he might need to put a lot of points into speed once he encounters a powerful foe.

He was also afraid that he might need to point a lot of points into devil fruit to increase his strength exponentially.

But, since he didn't encounter any enemy just like in the original, he didn't use his EP and AP.

Finally, last time, he came up with the perfect decision to use his EP and AP.

'System, put 60 EP into my Devil Fruit, 40 EP into my durability, 10 EP into my strength, and 10 EP into my speed.'

At this moment, exponential changes occurred in his body. It was so massive that Luffy could easily feel the growth of his strength.

Right now, his strength was at least equal to Post Sky Island. That being said, even with his Gear Second, he wasn't equal to that Luffy from Enies Lobby.

After using his EP, he finally decided to use his Awakening Points. And, he had just the right choice for it.

Luffy closed his eyes for a moment. After five seconds, he felt a new piece of information in his mind.

At the same time, he felt a massive change in his legs. Fortunately, he had increased his durability otherwise those changes would've torn apart his legs.

For a moment, he felt a sting of pain. Only after his legs starts moving freely, he realized that the pain was gone.

As time passed, the fog started disappearing. The boat was reaching closer to the island.

A loud noise woke up Zoro and Nami.

"What happened?" Nami horrifiedly asked. She was afraid that they were attacked by the other pirates.

But, when they raise their heads, they saw a large group of people running uphill.

In front of them, there was a young man standing while pointing his slingshot at those pirates. His hands were steady but his legs were shaking like crazy.

"It seems like I will be taking the leave first."

Luffy said as he kicked his foot in the air. Suddenly, he found himself standing in the air. But, only his one leg was in the air.

So, he kicked the next leg and finally, he was totally in the air. Under the confused eyes of Zoro and Nami, Luffy started running toward the island.

When Luffy reached closer to that of the island, he saw a massive tree. He stretched out his hand and wrapped it around the tree.

He pulled himself toward the tree and his hand swung, he rotated around the tree and flew towards Usopp.

Thud!

His feet landed just a few inches in front of Usopp.

"Hey, how about I take it from here?"

Luffy smirked and raised his right leg. He moved it back and stretched it. After swinging it forward, his leg struck everyone in the front.

[Gomu-Gomu No- Leg Whip]

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!

Those pirates started rolling down the hill while Luffy proudly stood in front of Usopp.

"W-who are you?" Usopp shivered in fear but he still had the guts to point his slingshot at Luffy.

Because of a drastic betrayal from Kuro, he was having a hard time trusting others.

Luffy turned around and smiled.

"Hi! My name is Monkey D Luffy, a man destined to become King of the Pirates. Do you want to join my crew?"

When Luffy introduced himself, Usopp was stunned. Although he believed in dreams and the sea calling for him one day, he was still stunned by this man's introduction.

For a moment, he even felt like he was bragging. But, he wasn't the kind of person who would make fun of other's dreams.

After all, he was a dreamer himself.

But, in this desperate situation, he immediately thought of something and said.

"As long as you can defeat them, I will join your crew."

Right now, he was really desperate. It wasn't like before when he had the luxury to leave the village alone.

If he couldn't defeat these pirates right now, his entire village would be slaughtered.

"Is that so? Then, I will give you a helping hand."

Luffy smirked and turned his head. Just when he turned around, he saw a man holding a strange locket and hypnotizing other pirates.

"Kill him!"

"Roar!"

Those hypnotized pirates suddenly showed strength beyond their current level.

"Ahhhh! We are going to die." Seeing those ferocious pirates, Usopp raised his hands and scream in fear.

But, he suddenly remembered someone and lowered his hands. He clenched his slingshot and walked next to Luffy.

"They have gotten stronger. You can't defeat them alone. I will give you support from behind."

Although his legs were still shaking, he still hasn't lost the courage to fight. He wanted to protect his village and he would do anything for this goal.

Luffy was stunned for a moment. It's not like he didn't know Usopp's character.

At this moment, he finally understood the comment from his previous life.

'Luffy in good times, Zoro in hard times, Usopp in desperate times.'

Usopp is a coward. That goes without saying. But, it didn't mean he will not fight when it is desperate. And, unlike those who have enormous strength, he will find his own way to fight.

Sanji's character is annoying, especially after post-time skips, it became extremely annoying. Even so, he is one of the most famous characters from Straw Hats.

Why?

That's because he has the strength and brain to save Straw Hats from several situations.

Usopp is similar but he doesn't have the strength. So, there aren't many times when Usopp can shine.

Luffy slowly puts his hand on his hat and walks forward.

Luffy moved his hands back and ran toward those pirates. His speed wasn't fast but his arms were stretching further and further back.

Seeing this, Usopp was shocked. He quickly ran to the side and watched the battle.

Luffy stretched his arms as far as they could go. The next moment, he pulled his arms forward at an extraordinary speed.

[Gattling!]

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

After it hits the pirate in front of him, his arms went back and once again stretched forward. His fist strike was so powerful that it instantly broke the bones of those pirates at the front.

He continued to strike them until every single one of them was broken by his fists.

Those pirates fell on the shores. The man who was holding the locket stared at them in shock.

"Hey, how could you be defeated so quickly? Stand up!"

He tried to hypnotize them but they had already lost their consciousness. Seeing this, he quickly turned his head to the boat behind him and shouted.

"Buchi, Sham, quickly come out and defeat this man."

"Huh? Are you talking about these people?"

A green-haired man walked to the corner of the boat and lifted two people in his hands. He looked at Jango and asked.

"Y-y-y-you defeated them?"

Jango's eyes widened as he felt darkness all over his eyes.

'Captain Kuro, what kind of people did you provoke? The entire crew has been defeated.'

"Hey Luffy, why did you leave so quickly? I didn't even get to enjoy the battle." Zoro saw those pirates lying on the ground and noticed Luffy. He threw those two on the ground and shouted.

"I had no choice. If I was late, he would've been dead." Luffy pulled Usopp next to him and spoke.

"By the way, he is our new crew member."

"Huh? You just left for a few minutes and you have already invited someone to join us. Can you not be so casual?" Zoro shouted.

"By the way, where is Nami?" Luffy instantly ignored Zoro's complaint and asked.

"She is collecting the treasures from this pirate ship." Zoro pointed his finger back and spoke.

"You guys? Who the hell are you?"

Suddenly, a voice came from behind which startled Usopp.

When they turned around, they saw a man in a black suit with iron claws on his hand standing behind them with anger flashing in his eyes.

"Kuro you bastard, what did you do to Kaya?"
