1 Chapter 1 - New Beginning

West Blue, south of Ohara Island.

A small caravel was quietly drifting in the sea.

The small caravel was very different from other caravels.

The hull was white like marble while the ship's railings were coated in gold, it had only a mainmast and mizzenmast with white sails.

Adding the finishing touch was the figurehead under the bow which was a beautiful golden mermaid with wavy flowing hair, its hands brought together in front of her mouth with her fingers intertwined as if in prayer.

The only thing that gave the elegant ship a more dangerous presence were the four cannons, two on each side, and the black flag, clearly indicating that this was a pirate ship.

On the ship's quarterdeck, a man of around 20 years of age and a height of 180cm was sprawled on the wooden floor, unmoving like a dead man, he had a lean, muscular physique, with shoulder length white hair, his eyebrows and eyelashes were the same color as his hair.

He was wearing a white long captain's coat with golden margins over a gray shirt, gray colored pants and black boots, the last notable garment was a golden sash around his waist.

Alexander opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was a blue sky with sparse white clouds, he could feel a calm breeze blowing his hair bringing the smell of the salted sea.

"Where is this?".

That was the first thing that came to his mind after he regained his senses.

He had no better reaction for this situation he found himself in, he wasn't able to react better to this situation, after all he awakened with no idea of how he got where he was, and worse, having no idea who he was made him start hyperventilating.

Taking a few deep breaths, he had to keep himself from surrendering to panic, after a few minutes he was able to calm and decided to recollect his thoughts.

"I should first calm myself and start searching my memory for anything useful..."

He had to start from somewhere, in this situation the best course of action was to try and recall what he could, closing his eyes he started to search his memory, it took longer than it should have but after some time small bits of information surfaced in his mind.

His name is Alexander, he can't remember his last name, he seems to remember watching his favorite anime One Piece, when a sudden wave of drowsiness hit him and then he was swimming in a sea of ink, the taste was of blood was permeating his mouth making him wanting to puke but he wasn't able to, at a certain time his sense of self started to become dimmer and dimmer.

"Yes, then there was the deal."

It wasn't a memory, but he was aware of a deal.

The deal was simple, everything that made him, himself, was given in exchange of something, all that constituted his person had to be exchanged, leaving only a blank slate for a new beginning.

Trying to remember more, he discovered that he could not remember his appearance nor his personality, nothing about family and friends or more detailed information about himself, including where he lived, neighbors and girlfriends, he can remember common knowledge like who was the president of America or what year it was but nothing about himself.

He had to come to terms with the fact that the person he was before may as well have been a stranger, a dead stranger.

Coming to terms with the fact that there were no other memories to recall even if he stayed there all day,

trying to remember, he decided to observe his surroundings as that was a good way to find some clues.

Standing up, he was surprised to find himself on a ship, a beautiful ship.

He could see the golden rails and the polished wooden floor, the ship looked as if it just left the shipyard.

"Hello!"

Shouting to find if there was someone else beside himself on the ship, that could provide some explanations, he was not surprised when he heard no response.

With nothing else to do he started exploring the ship, he was surprised to find out the level of its luxury and the detail that was put into its construction.

The ship was well equipped and furnished with luxury items, electric stove, washing machine, dish washer and many other such equipment and furniture.

On the walls, there were paintings and ornaments fit for a noble's mansion, not for a small ship like this one.

The kitchen was fully equipped with electric equipment and stocked with food, even for modern standards it was above what a normal ship should have.

The sleeping quarters were furnished with two beds, one on the left and one on the right, it also had two desks and electric lights plus two dressers.

Besides that, the storeroom was fully stocked with food enough for two people to eat for three months, at the back of the storeroom was a small refrigerated area for frozen foods.

Moving away from the storeroom he found the bathroom, it was very clean, and it had a bathtub equipped with shower, a large mirror was placed above the sink, every metal part was golden in colour.

Seeing the mirror in the bathroom he had some expectations, looking in the mirror he saw a stranger's face, the face that looked back at him was unfamiliar to him.

White hair and silver eyes, those were not normal characteristics of a person, maybe if he was albino but that was clearly not the case at least with the little he knew about the other world, his eyes were sharp, his face wasn't rough but had gentle features.

Moving on from the bathroom he resumed his exploration, Alexander was surprised to find a living room furnished with elegant furniture and artistic ornaments such as paintings and flower vases, there was a dining table in the center large enough for four people.

At this point the ship looked more like a house than a ship, at least life on such a ship couldn't be called bad in any way.

The last stop was the captain's cabin where the furniture was even more elegant, there was a beautiful wooden desk facing the door and there was even a grey sofa to the right side, on the left side was a large window.

Something on the desk instantly attracted his attention. It was the captain's logbook, a beautiful book with a white cover, a white ribbon marker expanded from its middle and a golden lock was placed in the middle of the cover.

Without knowing why, when seeing that lock, he had the instinct to move his hand to his pocket, moving his hand to his pocked he found a golden key.

Sitting on the soft chair behind the desk, he inserted the key into the lock, and after a short pause he slowly turned it.

*click* With a metallic sound, the lock was unlocked.

With his hand he slowly turned the cover, displaying the first page.

Alexander was surprised to find his name on the first page and wondered what that Captain title meant for him.

Searching for answers, he turned another page.

That was the first thought that came to his mind. He remembers that RPGs had a stats management system like this, and then a sudden though hit him like a lightning bolt.

He remembered reading many web novels where the protagonist was reincarnated or transported to another world, it shouldn't be possible he though, his heart beating fast, but then he thought.

"Waking up with fragmented memories on a ship with a black flag, and the last thing I remember is watching One Piece and lastly there is a [Devil Fruit] category on this page which indicates a connection with One Piece…"

Even after considering all those facts, it was still hard to believe in something like that, after all the first thing humans do when they meet with the extraordinary is the deny it and search for a logical answer, even if that person has imagined such scenarios but when put in front of them they still chose to first deny it.

But he still had to consider what was put in front of his eyes, he could deny it all day, but nothing will change.

Did he really become a member of the legendary Transported with a System Sect? His heart rate was increasing, he could feel that he had no good feeling from his previous life, he didn't know why but the feeling of dislike was there, there were no good feelings when he thought about his world, but could something like that really happen in this world?
