Mission Activation

Presently, I was at the shoreline, loading supplies I'd taken from Arlong to my ship. Due to the stress that was upon me from the villages kowtowing to me, I decided I needed a change of scenery straight away.

Nami had volunteered to be my navigator and join my crew. I'd initially wanted to hire some other navigator, but I couldn't say no to her at all. I accepted Nami's offer… I mean it was hard for me to find a better navigator anyway...

"Nojiko… you sure you can't come with me. You've basically seen me naked already so…. take responsibility please." I did my best impression of a shy bride I could.

"Humm, I really have to help the construction of the village… even after you crafted so many tools for us… but maybe if you visit another time."

Nojiko teased me with a coy smile. Seeing her seductive smile, my heart was completely entranced. I couldn't take it anymore and hugged her without any warning.

"You're so cute Nojiko…"

Nojiko was a little surprised and her face pinkened a little, but she allowed me to hug her intimately. I was about to cop a feel of her ass when… SHWAP… Genjo, the old geezer, sent a flying kick at me.

BUZZ… out of spite, I let the old geezer's kick pass through me and he fell to the ground.

Nojiko covered her mouth with her hand and giggled once more when she realized that I wasn't injured.

"Okay… stop depressing this old man. Now Cross… promise me something, you'll never make Nami cry." Genzo said.

"Whaat the… old geezer… why will I ever do something like that?" I berated.

"JUST PROMISE ME YOUNG MAN!!"

"Sigh… whatever makes you feel better. I promise to never make Nami cry."

Next, the kid Chabo came running up to me with a snotty nose and moist eyes.

"Cross… I promise that I'm going to become strong enough and defeat tyrants like Arlong just like you. Farewell big brother!!"

'This Chunibyo brat is going to have a really short life I bet…" I rolled my eyes at his words.

Soon enough, Cross, Noelle and Nami bid farewell to all the residents of the town and sailed towards to their own adventure.

Just like in the manga, Nami's way of farewell was through pickpocketing the entire town, but the villagers just cried happy tears when she did that. Besides, she left more than 100 million Beris for the villagers to start their repair…

Wait...did she leave my money too…. Fuck!

It was night now, and I was staring at the starry sky. Nami and Noelle fell asleep and I was on the verge too.

'Sailing the seas isn't too bad eh,' This was not the fist time I sailed the seas since coming into the 'One Piece' world, but I still couldn't get the scenery and the feeling of the air out of my head. It was a wonderful scene, but I still didn't think I could become a pirate life Luffy.

I would get small flashbacks from the night I killed the Arlong pirates. Although I was completely drunk, I could still feel myself taking pleasure from the slaughter that I'd committed. At that moment, I didn't care about Arlong's morality or the villagers suffering, I just wanted to bring destruction towards my enemies like a… god.

I had a feeling that if I fought any longer, I wouldn't care much about justice or morality at all, only the pleasure from taking the head of the enemy. To be fair, morality and justice were not easy to define anyways. Arlong pirates may have been fishmen version of Nazis, but it's not like humans hadn't committed horrible atrocities on the fish-men.

Currently, I had justified my slaughter under the banner that if I'm going to fight an enemy anyways, I might as well make sure they're unable to fight me again.

There was also some news I received about a few fishmen that were able to escape my wrath by jumping deep into the seas. I could only hope fishmen like Hachi got the chance to escape and start a new life.

I looked at Nami, who was lying asleep at top of the deck. She'd seen me kill the Arlong pirates… And she probably didn't agree with my methods, but she didn't say too much to me about it either. She probably figured that I couldn't hold back my powers at the heat of the moment or something… or it was a necessary evil.

'Huh… Nami is so cute when she's sleeping though… and she is also an amazing person, passionate about her dreams.' I thought as I closed my eyes to get some sleep.

I bit my lip, panicking at the sight of the new notification.

I frowned as I contemplated the consequences of the new notification. It seemed like this Isekai services didn't think it would be entertaining if I didn't struggle for the seat of the 'King of the Pirates.' I had jinxed myself bad this time.

If I was being completely honest with myself, I'd always expected Isekai services to act in some time. In fact, all the hard training I did so far subconsciously has been preparing me for a mission such as this. Part of me was afraid of failing, so I never tried to do things like change the canon by saving Nami. I'd been an idiot trying to stop something I couldn't have stopped in the first place.

After some time passed, all signs of hesitation disappeared in my eyes. I thrusted my head high and looked towards the vast sky, 'You motherfuckers, I don't know what game you're playing at, but it won't be that easy to kill me.'

I can't be like Luffy, who has the will of 'D' and strong determination that could shake this world. I was only a pragmatist and a pervert from Earth, armed with the knowledge of future and gifts from Isekai services. If that's still not enough to find the One Piece, then I just have to find out what is.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I laughed like a maniac, finally ready to embrace the game Isekai services had set up for me.

"AHHHH, W-what is it?" Nami woke up and screamed from shock.

"Nothing, just that I've decided to become the King of the Pirates."

I smiled enigmatically as I stared into the distance.
