Ken P.O.V.]
"Purururu, purururu, purururu."
"Argh."
I woke up with a headache.
'Who the hell is calling so early in the morning?'
I sat up on my bed and picked up the Den Den Mushi.
*YAWN*
"Who is this."
"Morgans."
"Oh, sup Morgans. Why are you calling me so early?"
"That little girl, I've found her."
It took me a couple of seconds to understand what he said.
"Are you for real! Where is she!?"
"Not so fast. I first want my 100 million."
"Just tell one of your men to come over. I have it ready for you."
I suddenly sensed someone walking onto my ship.
"I see. You must have missed me a lot."
I hang up the Den Den Mushi and quickly put on the custom clothes Laffitte made for me. I then walked out to the deck and sensed someone hiding on the ship.
"Follow me to the kitchen."
I turned around and went back inside the ship. Morgans suddenly appeared next to me. We started walking to the kitchen.
"What brings you here, Morgans?"
"I had some business here. I was planning to leave today, but I just got word from my men about her location, so I thought I might as well come and pick up my money."
"Tsk, only thinking about the money and not about seeing your best friend again."
"Hahaha, you're far too incompetent to be my best friend."
"Ouch, that hurt."
We arrived at the kitchen and sat down at the table.
"So let me hear it. You'll get your money right after."
"Risky Red Island is the island where she and her family are living."
"Family?"
"She has a husband and 3 kids. 2 boys and 1 girl."
"Hm. Risky Red Island is one of the three islands the log pose points to once you leave Fish-Man Island, right?"
"Yes, it's a peaceful island for New World standards. There is nothing special about the island, except for getting there. It's a "risky" journey."
"I see. Do you have a picture of hers?"
He gave me a picture of a middle-aged lady that looked really similar to Aokiji.
"She still goes by the name Aiko. Say, Ken, why do you care so much about this woman? Is she your mother or something?"
"No, but she is really important."
I handed him a check for 150 million.
"The extra 50 million is for her protection. Make sure nobody touches her or her family before I get there."
"Sure, I doubt that anyone will care about her anyway. I will have to go now. Thank you for your business."
"No, I'm the one that should be thanking you. Have a safe journey."
"Goodbye."
He disappeared.
"Sigh."
'At least I won't have to tell Aokiji that something terrible has happened to his little sister. Could you imagine if the ice-cold Aokiji got mad? It would be a disaster for whoever pissed him off. But I wonder, would he be able to create something like fire ice when he is mad?'
Laffitte suddenly walked in.
"Goodmorning, Captain."
"Goodmorning, Laffitte."
"Captain, my slaves have spotted Jinbe."
"Slaves?"
"I hypnotized a couple of pirates."
"I see. Where is he?"
"He is at the xxx restaurant."
"I'll go there right away."
"Should I come with you?"
"I'm just going there to talk, so there is no reason for you to be there. Just keep watch over the ships for me."
"Yes, sir."
I disappeared and appeared in front of the restaurant a little bit later. I walked in and quickly spotted the big blue Fish-Man, who is sitting alone at a table in the corner of the restaurant. The people in the restaurant looked at me for a second and then went back to eating. Me being friendly with the royal family means that they won't be so wary of me anymore.
I walked to Jibe's table and sat down opposite of him. He looked at me cautiously. The waiter came over, and I ordered some breakfast.
"Sup, Jinbe."
"What do you want, pirate?"
"How cruel. I call you by your name, and you call me a pirate. But I guess I'll forgive you this time, fellow pirate."
He glared at me, and I smiled. A little bit later, my food arrived, and I started eating.
"Azure Ken, why did you come looking for me?"
I stopped eating and looked at him.
"I'll make it quick. Knight of the Sea Jinbe, join my crew."
He had a surprised look on his face.
"I can understand that your status as a Shichibukai comes in the way and that you barely know me, but I'm sure that we can make a deal."
"Impossible."
"Why? Do you really want to serve the World Government? The one who killed and enslaved so many of your race."
"The reason I joined the Shichibukai is to strengthen the bond between species, and what happened in the past can be forgiven."
"Hahahaha! That's the funniest thing I've heard."
He looked pissed. I quickly devoured all the food and put some money on the table.
"Follow me, so we can talk without everyone listening in."
"Why should I follow you?"
"So that you can try to beat me up because I'm going to ridicule your thinking."
I started walking out of the restaurant, and a little bit later, Jinbe started following me. After some walking, we arrived at a quiet place. I turned around and looked at him.
"I'm not ridiculing your dream of making peace between all the species, but I'm ridiculing you about who you decide to side with. Even though you're part of the Shichibukai for years now, nothing has changed. The World Government is still taking away your people and making slaves out of them. They don't see you as equal at all. All they see are some lowly fishes that aren't even worth licking their shoes."
"And I'm going to change that."
"How? And before you answer, make sure to think before you say something stupid."
He looked like he was thinking, but after a while, he didn't say anything.
"How pathetic. You can't even think of one thing. You joining the Shichibukai may have saved your crew, but that's it. That Arlong guy, do you know what he has been up to since he got released because of you."
He shook his head.
"He occupied an island in the East Blue and terrorized all the citizens for years. Taking their money, leaving barely anything for them to survive and killing whoever he wanted."
He looked shocked and angry.
"How dare he do that! What is that island called? I'll go and beat him up right away!"
"You're too late. I already killed him."
He froze.
"If you become mad at me, that just means that you're no better than that scum. And you know what was funny, he got help from a marine. If a good Fish-Man needed help, they would ignore you, but when a scum likes him needs help, they immediately help him. Open your eyes, Jinbe! Doing things like this isn't going to get you anywhere. Join me, and I swear on my life that I'll make your dream of equality come true!"
"How are you planning to do that? And how can I trust you? You pirates are never to be trusted."
"Hahahaha, how am I going to do that? It's pretty simple. Eliminate the problem, which is the World Government."
He had a serious look on his face.
"I can tell that you're serious, and I don't like it. The World Government isn't the ruler of the world for nothing. There is no way that you can take it down with your crew. And even if you somehow managed to do that, there will be chaos right after. It will bring more harm than good."
"At least you're not stupid. But neither am I. This isn't something that I'm planning to do in the near future. If I don't have millions of people behind me, it will be a lost cause. But even if I have such a big army, it will be useless if I don't have strong people like you by my side. I have dozens of viable plans that could work, and with a little more time, I can get a foolproof one. Oh, and about the chaos, I have a plan for that too."
I looked at Jinbe, who didn't look convinced.
"There is no need for you to decide right now. Just stay back and watch how serious I am about this. Even if it takes you years to realize, you'll always be welcome to join me."
I walked away, and Jinbe didn't say anything.
'He probably doesn't believe me and will forget about this meeting, but once I start building my army, he'll see that I wasn't kidding. And it was not like I was expecting him to join me today. He has no reason to. I was just letting him know that I existed and that he was welcome on my crew.'
