73 Chapter 73

After a little bit of walking, we arrived in front of a wall at the end of the stairs. She pushed another button, and a part of the wall went down, creating a door that leads us into another room.

We walked through the entrance and into the room.

I sensed something coming at me, and when I looked to my left, I saw a huge sword coming from my head.

Before I could move, someone appeared in front of the sword and blocked it.

"Captain!"

"Ken!"

"Stop staring at me like idiots and help us take out these stupid things!"

I looked at what attacked us and saw a colossal metal monster and behind it are another 7.

"Right away, Captain."

<Soru>

I disappeared and appeared behind the metal monsters' legs without it realizing.

<Tekkai: Shigan>

I infused my finger with Tekkai and used Shigan to hit the back of his knees.

*BAM*

*BOOOM*

He fell on his knees.

*WOOSH*

Captain appeared next to his head, and his sword turned black.

*WOOSH*

*SLICE*

He decapitating him, making its head and body fall on the ground.

"Hahaha, I can always count on you to help me get things done."

"Thank you, Cap-"

I stopped mid-sentence and looked at something unbelievable happening to the metal monster.

"What is it, Laffitte?" asked Captain

I pointed to the monster.

He turned around, and I could tell that he was just as surprised as I was.

Red strings that smell and look like blood came out from his body and reached out for his head. The strings grabbed his head and attached it back on his body like they just stitched up a wound.

The colossal monster's eyes turned red again, and it stood up like nothing happened.

[Ken P.O.V.]

I looked at the metal bastard that just stood up.

'These bastards are being controlled by someone's Devil Fruit. There is no other explanation for something like this happening.'

"Brook, Robin, Laffitte, work together and focus on one monster. These guys must have a weakness. Try to find it while I distract the other 7 and think of a plan."

"But that is too dangerous." said Brook

"We have no other choice. I'm the best guy for the job so just trust me on this one."

After hesitating for a little bit, they nodded and went after the one I just decapitated.

I started to attack the other 7 and took them with me to the other side of the room.

They started attacking me, and I was only focused on dodging and blocking when necessary. Since they are so close together, it's harder for them to attack me, so that's a plus for me.

'What Devil Fruit would be capable of doing something like? It can't be a necromancer since these guys aren't undead. It can't be some advanced technology because technology doesn't work like that.'

*WOOSH*

I dodged a blade coming at me and jumped on top of it. I started running up his sword and arm.

*WOOSH*

*SLICE*

Another one tried to attack me, but I dodged his sword, and he accidentally cut off his friend's arm. The same happened to this guy like the other monster I decapitated. Red strings came from his body and attached his arm back.

*SNIFF*

'I didn't realize it at first because I was too surprised, but it smells like blood. So it is a Devil Fruit that has something to do with blood. Is there something like a logia or paramecia Blood-Blood fruit? Then there must be some core that holds them together. Let's try it out, I guess.'

<Soru>

I went for the one at the back.

I appeared above its head.

*BAM*

I slammed my heel down on his head.

*BOOOOM*

He fell face-first on the ground.

'I need to move fast.'

<Geppo>

I used Geppo to get down faster.

I infused Shusui with Haki and started spinning around.

*SLICE*

I cut it up into pieces, and I spotted a red orb floating inside.

'I was right!'

*WOOSH*

*SLICE*

I appeared next to the orb and cut it in half with Haki.

I immediately jumped back.

Instead of exploding, it just dissolved.

'Like I thought. It's an orb that must have been created by someone's Devil Fruit. It's kinda like Cracker's Devil Fruit. But unlike his fruit, this one can't create the soldiers from nothing; it just controls them. But where is that f*cker that is controlling them?'

*WOOSH*

Something red just flew past me.

'Wait, isn't that!?'

I looked at how a red orb went back into the body of that metal thing, and strings started fixing it again.

'Is this a f*cking joke!'

[Sabo P.O.V.]

Robert and I are currently in a pitch-black maze. It is hard to navigate ourselves through a pitch-black maze, but we can handle it with my new ability. And you might ask why Robert doesn't just take out a light source from his storage space.

[Flashback 20 minutes ago]

Robert and I are walking through a hallway, and it started to become really dark the further we went into the castle. Till we couldn't see anything.

"Can you take out a torch, Robert?"

A light suddenly appeared, and I saw Robert, but not only him.

*GROWL*

I saw a huge mouth above Robert. Saliva started dropping down on Robert's head.

"S… S... Sabo?"

"Whatever you do, don't move."

I took a good look at the monster behind him, and I saw a massive wolf without a nose.

'What the hell is that thing!?'

(An: Voldemort if he was a giant wolf.)

*WOOSH*

I appeared in front of Robert and pushed him out of the way.

*BAM*

I hit the wolf on his head, sending him flying the other way.

*GROWL*

I looked at the hallways to my left and right. I saw so many eyes in the shadows that even Ken would get scared.

I quickly ran to Robert and helped him up.

"There are more of them! Let's run!"

"What!?"

We started running away!

I took the torch from his hand and threw it at the wolfs that were running after us.

"Why did you do that!?"

"Sssshh!"

I grabbed his arm and kept running.

"I don't think that they can smell since they don't have a nose, so the light is giving away our location." I whispered to him

*BAM*

*THUD*

We kept running till we suddenly ran into a wall.

"Argh! This is why you don't run in the dark." said Robert

"Sorry. I was too focused on the wolfs. Wait for a second while I look at how we can get out of this."

I started concentrating.

'I'm glad I choose to learn this before Busoshoku Haki.'
