71 Chapter 71

[Next Day]

We got ready to leave this place.

"Sigh. We're finally leaving this horrible island." said Ace

"I hope we never have to come back here." said Robert

"Captain, we're ready to leave." Said Laffitte

"Alright, let's head out right away."

The two ships started leaving Thriller Bark. After a little bit of sailing, Thriller Bark disappeared from our view.

'We've finally left that horrible island.'

"Captain!" screamed Laffitte

"What is it?"

"A massive water vortex is about to appear."

"Can we avoid it?"

*WOOSH*

A massive vortex suddenly appeared, and the ships got pulled into the Vortex.

"You didn't say that we were so close to it!"

"I'm sorry, Captain, but I couldn't find out where it would appear. I've never read about one that acts like this."

"Nevermind, just hold on, everyone!"

*WOOSH*

The ships started to go further and further down the vortex.

'Shit! There is nothing I can do. It is way too strong! I thought things like these were only supposed to appear in the New World.'

*WOOSH*

Our ships went underwater. I became dizzy and blacked out.

[An unknown amount of time later.]

*COUGH*

I threw up a lot of water.

*HUF*

I sat up and used Haki to sense if everyone is okay.

"Sigh."

'Everyone is fine. They're just passed out.'

I stood up and looked around.

We arrived on a beach of a creepy-looking island with just one structure, which is a castle. There is a full moon.

'This looks like a setting for a horror movie.'

I started waking up everyone.

"Argh, my head. Where the hell are we?" asked Deuce

"I have no clue."

"I think I might know." said Robin

"Well, let us hear it then."

"Back on Ohara, there was this scholar who was obsessed with a story surrounding the Florian Triangle, which is the Place where we were just now. The story went along the line of, people who tread into the Florian Triangle will get sucked into the ocean, and their blood will be fed to an Overlord living in a scary-looking castle on an island where it's always dark with a full moon."

"That's only a fairy tale, right?" asked Deuce with sweat dripping from his forehead

"But everything here matches her description, so it must be true." said Laffitte

"What should we do, Ken?" asked Sabo

"Hmm?"

I started thinking.

'Even though I'm forgetting things, there is no way that I would forget about a place like this. I need to find more information about this place to get out of here.'

"Sigh. We have no other choice."

I pointed at the castle.

"If we want to find a way out of here, we need to go to that castle."

*THUNDER*

"AAHH!" Deuce jumped up and hugged Ace.

"Get off me, you idiot!"

*BAM*

Ace punched him on his head, sending him against a wall.

"Sigh. Who wants to come with me to explore the island."

Laffitte and Robin immediately put their hand up.

"I'll go too." said Robert

"Brogy and I will go too." said Dorry

"That's six in total."

I looked at Ace, who is shaking.

"Why are you shaking Ace?"

"I… I… I…"

"Alright, I get it; you've always been scared of things like this."

He didn't say anything.

"Sabo, Brook, you two are also coming."

"Sure thing." said Sabo

"But…"

"Why are you scared, Brook? Anything that is still alive there will fear you more than you do them."

He nodded, but he still looked scared.

"Perona, use your devil fruit to scout this island and afterward, the castle."

She nodded.

"The rest of you, stay here and protect these ships and each other."

"They nodded."

We got onto the island, and I jumped onto Brogy's shoulder.

"I need to conserve my strength for the chance of there being a fight."

"No problem, Captain."

We started moving towards the Castle."

"Are you really fine with coming here, Robin?" asked Robert

"I'm an Archaeologist. Things like these are what I seek."

"But it could be dangerous."

She smiled at him.

"Then, I'll count on you to protect me."

He got hearts in his eyes.

"You can count on me!"

"Sigh."

'I thought that Robert was better than that.'

We arrived at a massive gate that is open. What we saw behind the gate was horrifying.

Thousands of skeletons laying on the ground.

'This place looked way better from the beach. It looks more like ruins than a castle.''

I saw something shining in the hands of a skeleton.

I jumped down from Brogy's shoulder and picked up the shiny thing.

'Bastards! This is the insignia from the World Government. I don't see any uniform from the World Government, so they must have tried to hide their involvement in this disaster.'

"What did you pick up?" asked Sabo

I threw it to him.

"That is the insignia of the World Government. There is no doubt in my mind that they're behind this."

"Those bastards! Why would they ever do something like this! I can even see the skeletons of kids and babies." said Robert

"They probably did something the world government didn't like." said Robin

"Guys look there." said Laffitte

He pointed at a flag.

"Isn't that the World Government flag?" asked Sabo

"Ey Robin, how long ago do you think this battle took place."

"Looking at the Castle, I would say that it was build about 800 to 900 years ago, and this battle looks like it was about 300 to 400 years ago."

"I see. The World Government is said to be created by 20 kingdoms. But none of the kingdoms match up with this place. So why do they have the World Government flag there? It definitely looks like it has been there longer than 300 years."

"There may have been 21 kingdoms." said Robin

"Could be. Well, standing here won't get us answers. Let' go further in and see what we can find."

They nodded.

We walked into the castle plaza.

'There are so many bodies here. Why does the stupid World Government always use violence to get what they want? It doesn't matter what the leaders of this place have done; there was no need for them to kill all these children!'

"Ken!"

Sabo grabbed my shoulder.

"What is it?"

"You're suffocating us."

"Huh?"

I suddenly realized that I was leaking a lot of killing intent. I quickly stopped it.

"I'm sorry, guys. I just got a little mad seeing this scene."

"We all are, but we need to keep our cool so we can find out what happened here." said Sabo

I nodded.

We arrived in front of another enormous gate that is also open. This one lets us enter the inside of the castle.

"Alright, guys, we don't know what we may find inside, so be ready for everything."

They nodded.

I took a deep breath.

"Here we go."

We sat foot inside the castle.
