11 Chapter 11

"So where are we going, Ken?" asked Sabo

I took out a map of the East Blue and pointed at an island named Sixis.

"Why are we going there?" asked Ace

"I just heard about a rumor and want to check it out."

They looked confused.

"What rumor?" asked Ace

"You'll see."

"Hm? Hey guys, look!" said Sabo

We saw a marine ship coming our way.

"What are we going to do?" asked Sabo

"Start heading towards our destination. Don't worry about them.."

They nodded, and our ship was going towards Sixis island.

I looked back and saw the marine ship catching up.

'It's just a regular marine ship. There should be no one noteworthy on the ship.'

I went into our storage room and came out with a couple of cannonballs. I loaded a cannonball in our only cannon on the right side where they were trying to come.

A little bit later, they were next to our ship.

"You filthy pirates better surrender, or we will attack your ship!"

I glared at their leader, making him jump back.

I used a lighter to fire the cannon.

*BOOM*

The cannonball hit their mast, making it fall down. I loaded a new cannonball and aimed the cannon towards the lower end of their ship. I lit it on fire again.

*BOOM*

Their ship got hit, and a hole appeared in it. Their ship was starting to let water in.

"FIRE!"

*BOOM*

*BOOM*

We got hit twice, but it was in the upper part of the ship, so it wasn't bad. I loaded another ball and aimed it at their cannon. I lit it.

*BOOM*

I just missed the cannon, and the ball went into someone besides the cannon.

*BOOM*

Suddenly the place where the cannons are exploded.

'I must have sent that guy into a barrel of gunpowder, and he must have had a lit lighter in his hand.'

Their ship started catching on fire and sinking, so all of them jumped off.

I smirked at the captain.

"YOU FILTHY PIRATES! I SWEAR THAT I'LL CATCH YOU ONE DAY!"

"Hahahaha, I'll be waiting. But before that, maybe you should find some dry land. Hahahaha."

We kept sailing, and a little bit later we couldn't see the marines anymore.

'Using cannons is pretty fun.'

[4 days later]

We arrived on a barren island. Ace put the anchor down, and I jumped off.

"What did we come here for?" asked Sabo

I look at a dead tree.

"Don't try to hide. Come out from behind that tree."

Someone appeared from behind the tree. He is wearing a mask over his eyes. He is a muscular man with spiky long light blue hair and wears a very long open coat, which stretches down to his knees and leaves his chest exposed. He is also wearing a belt diagonally across his chest, trousers with a rose design on the bottom left that is held up by a belt, and a pair of dark boots that go up to his knees.

'Masked Deuce. He was the right-hand man of Ace. Ace got stranded here and befriended this guy. This is also where Ace got his devil fruit.'

He put up his hands.

"Do you guys mind giving me a lift to an island? I'm kinda stuck here."

*GROWL*

"Haha, I guess I'm also hungry."

"What's your name?"

"Deuce."

"Sabo, give him some food."

"But we don't kno-"

"Just give him the food. I'll be back soon."

I walked into the island.

After ten minutes of walking, I finally found it. A bright red fruit is pretty easy to spot in a barren place like this. I grabbed it and went back to the ship.

I found Deuce stuffing his face full of food.

"What kind of fruit is that?" asked Ace

I threw it to Ace.

"This is the rumor I've been talking about. It's a devil fruit, and a logia at that."

Everyone had a shocked look on their faces.

"Wow, I thought those things were just myths." said Deuce

"You'll see a lot more of those if you go to the grand line. Ace, I want you to eat it. It's the Mera Mera no Mi. It will give you the ability to use fire."

Ace immediately gave it back to me.

"There is no way I can accept this."

I dangled it in front of his face.

"But don't you want it?"

He looked the other way.

"No."

I winked at Sabo, and he nodded. Sabo appeared behind Ace and grabbed him. I quickly cut off a little bit of the fruit and put it in his mouth. He swallowed it. I threw the rest of the fruit away, and Sabo let him go.

'Even though he didn't say anything, he is really jealous of Luffy having a Devil Fruit. And he also knows about their weakness, but he said to me that it wouldn't matter. So I find it justified to force-feed him something worth at least a billion berries and is strong enough to make someone the 2nd Division Commander of a Yonko.'

"I could have eaten it myself. There was no need- MY ARM!"

His arm turned into fire.

"Calm down. Just control the fire and tell it to go back."

He nodded, and after a little bit, the flames disappeared.

He looked like a little kid on Christmas eve.

"Go on the island and have fun."

He immediately jumped off the ship and started using his devil fruit to the max.

Sabo and I smiled at this, but Deuce's jaw was on the floor.

"Ey Deuce."

"Yes?"

"What are you good at?"

He looked confused as to why I would ask him that, but he still answered.

"I know how to fight, and I have medical knowledge."

I smiled at him.

"How good is your medical knowledge?

He had an uncomfortable look on his face.

"It's okay if you don't want to tell."

"No, I'll tell you. You saved my life, after all. I'm from a noble family, but I like fighting and medicine more than being a noble. My parents thought that it would just be a temporary thing, so they got me the best doctor and fighter they could find to teach me, but when they saw that I still liked it, my lessons stopped, and they forced me to behave like the other noble children."

He took a deep breath.

"Even though I told them that I didn't want to do that, they said that as the heir, I had no other choice. They never even saw me as their son. Only as the heir."

He had a sad and angry look on his face.

I put my hand on his shoulder and smiled at him.

"You see that blond guy, Sabo is also a noble who ran away from home. He also doesn't like his parents, but look at him now. He is free and smiling the whole day."

He looked at Sabo, and Sabo smiled and nodded at him.

"Say how about you join my crew and also become free. You will be able to do and become whatever you want, and our crew doesn't have a doctor, so you would be a big help."

He looked surprised.

"But how can you trust me so easily?"

I smiled at him.

'Deuce was really loyal to Ace, and he was also his right-hand man so he shouldn't be too bad. But I will keep my guard up till I trust him anyway.'

"Let's just say that I have a soft spot for people with parent issues. We all have them. But there is something I need to tell you first."

I leaked a little bit of killing intent and put pressure on his shoulder with my hand.

"As the doctor of our crew, you will basically have our lives in your hands. So if you do decide to join us, you better not be thinking about betraying us. Because if you do. Let's just say that even the world government's prison will look like heaven."

I let go of him and stopped my killing intent.

Instead of fear, he looked at me with determination on his face.

"I'll accept your offer, and I swear on my life that I will do everything in my power to do my job!"

I slapped him on his back.

"Alright, that is a good answer. ACE COME BACK WE ARE HAVING A PARTY!"

In an instant, he was back on the ship.

"Did you say a party!?"

We are celebrating our new crewmate, joining us.

"Alright I'll get the booze." said Sabo

After we all had a cup, I held mine in the air.

"To our new crewmate!"

"YEAH!"

After that, we partied till we passed out drunk.
