6 Baby 5

The age of pirates officially began and people from all walks of life set out for the sea. Some become Marines, some became pirates, and others set out to accomplish their dreams.

Red Haired Shanks, former apprentice crewmember of the Pirate King sails the oceans freely as powerful crewmen stand under his banner one after another. Establishing his small elite team none can stop his tracks.

Big Mom Charlotte Linlin terrorizes the seas with her children. With the void left by Roger and Shiki no one dares to stand in front of her less they wish to die. Capturing rare species of animals and men alike she continues to expand her empire in the new world with none to impede her progress.

The Beast Kaido scours the seas for Zoan devil fruits as his fleets continue to expand. Any promising pirate he encounters only have two possible outcomes, join his crew or be captured till you join his crew. His unbridled rampage has caused the marines to try killing him countless times, but so far he remains invincible.

Whitebeard protects his territory but seems to fade into obscurity. Even though no one dares to disrespect him openly, everyone can see he's taken a step back in this new age.

With those four leading the charge many new pirates are eager to challenge their position. With the increased piracy the Marines are overwhelmed and their footholds in the new world are constantly pushed back to the red line.

With their attention focused on the grand line security in the four seas diminishes as the more powerful marines are transferred and new pirates pop up every day.

Desperate, the world government had no choice but to seek help from their own enemies and created the Shichibukai system, abolishing their bounties and allowing them to be pirates for the World Government. The first member to join their ranks is a pirate called Gecko Moria. Standing over twenty feet tall he towers over a normal man, with his Kage Kage no Mi and powerful crew he terrorizes the new world and chases after Kaido's fleet.

The next to accept the call is a lone pirate swordsman Dracule Mihawk whos only wish is to improve his craft. Finding the bounty to be an annoyance he easily accepted the appointment. His constant clashes with Shanks causes many swordsmen to yearn for the sea.

Seeing the effectiveness and deterrence brought by their first two picks, they quickly brought in a young man famous for his destructive Logia devil fruit Crocodile and his Suna Suna no Mi.

With those three leading the charge the remaining positions were quickly filled with powerful pirates.

At first pirates steered clear of the seven warlords, but eventually, one fell followed by another.

Even when their Shichibukai died the government wasn't deterred, offering the position to the one who defeated the last. If they refused to accept use everything to take them out and find a new pirate to die for them.

Two months after his fourth birthday, Gilgamesh floats in a meditative position above his enlarged igloo. Bigger rings and a loincloth still cover his body but the minimalist design is still the same. His long turquoise hair is tied in a ponytail and the baby fat began to melt from his face, revealing his features as a young boy.

Opening his eyes a smile forms on his face. "It's finally time." A less immature voice and a full row of teeth fill his mouth, causing his smile to be more natural than before.

His body drifts forward slightly and lands. When his feet touch the ground its as if an elephant stomped its legs and a heavy sound resonates throughout the scrap yard. Looking at his bare feet his heel never touches the ground, supporting the immense weight only on the balls of his feet and toes.

Taking a step forward the box containing his items float towards his back. The next step causes all the iron sand to pour like a waterfall and surround the box and form a large sphere the size of a small car. The next step causes the igloo to morph and deform as massive force crushes it from all sides.

His final step causes his home for the last four years to be morphed into a metal sphere the size of a basketball.

Lightning arcs from his body as he turns into a stream of pure energy and shoots into the distance. The sphere of iron sand rushes after Gilgamesh whos moving at the speed of lightning.

After arcing in three different directions he finally lands behind a tree and closes his eyes.

"Why do you still have a child?"

"They're useless and still eat a lot."

Listening to the conversation of the people at the camp Gilgamesh opens his eyes to look in their direction.

"To reduce the number of mouths we have to feed go abandon her in the mountains."

Hearing the words he's been waiting all these years to hear causes his eyes to gleam.

"Don't blame me for not saving you earlier Baby 5, but for me to win your complete loyalty you must first experience despair." Sensing their EM signals moving towards the mountain forest he makes his move.

"Mom where are we going?!" An innocent young voice is picked up in the direction he's moving.

"Hey! Momma!"

Hearing her desperate cry for her mother causes Gilgamesh's resolve to waiver for a moment. "If I give the mother food can they remain a family?"

As soon as the words leave his mouth his eyes shine with a green light "No, this place isn't good for her development. Even if she stays with her mother now I won't always be around to give them food again."

"Momma?"

"Ehh?"

Hearing the sound of her being pushed to the ground he transforms into a bolt of lightning and arrives in the area in a flash.

Seeing a dirty woman with matted black hair, dressed in rags, and standing over filthy little girl causes him to frown.

The woman begins to walk away, seeing this the girl begins to panic as she rushes to her feet.

"Mom!" She screams frantically "Mom! Wait! please!" Rushing forward she grabs her mothers leg for dear life.

The woman stops as Gilgamesh walks towards their backs.

"Don't Follow me." The woman says coldly without even turning to look at her tearful daughter.

"No! Please! I'm going to come with you!" The little girl pleads desperately while shaking her mother's rags, completely oblivious to the approaching Gilgamesh.

"You're useless." The mother looks down coldly at her almost four-year-old daughter "Useless people like you." She takes a good look at the girl "Aren't needed by anyone."

The little girl is stunned and releases the rags. Watching her mother walk away tears pour down her dirty face, causing a river of mud to form.

"Even by you mom?"

"I'm not even needed by you mom?!?" Baby 5's head tilts back as she begins to wail.

But in the next moment, a warm hand is placed on her head. "You aren't useless to me, I need you."

Surprised, Baby 5 turns around and wraps her arms around Gilgamesh without even looking at him. "Ahhhhhh ahhhhhh" Like finding a plank at open sea during a storm she grabs on tightly and cries.

Hugging the small child dressed in rags whos almost as tall as him brings no smile to his face. Watching the woman walk further and further away causes Gilgamesh to think for a moment.

Placing his arms around her back he allows her to cry into his shoulder. Taking one final look at the woman walking back towards her camp Gilgamesh lifts himself and the unaware Baby 5 into the air and flies towards his approaching iron sand ball.

Approaching the ball of sand it begins to expand and reveals a small room inside the size of a bedroom. Landing inside the door closes in a spiderweb fashion to allow light to seep in.

The ball lands on the ground and Baby 5 cries for a full ten minutes before stopping.

Ignoring the pungent smell he looks at the tear and snot filled girl in front of him. Looking at her short dirty black hair he can't understand why her mother kept her for all these years just to abandon her now.

She tries to wipe the tears and snot from her face as she looks curiously at Gilgamesh, but the dirt on her arm just makes her face worse.

"Who are you?" A choked up voice barely escaped her mouth.

"I'm Gilgamesh, the one who brought you here" Spreading his hands he points to the iron sand walls.

Baby 5's eyes bulge as if she just realized she was in another place. "You said you need Baby 5? I'm not useless?" Looking at Gilgamesh with eyes filled with hope, hope that the one piece of wood she found in the shaky sea when her entire world was about to be drowned wasn't rotten.

"Of course, in the whole world, I'm the only one who knows your value best. You have to help me, be my right hand and never leave me." He smiles slightly as he pats the girls head.

"You won't abandon me?" Her eyes shake as she looks at Gilgamesh, trying to see any hesitation on his face.

"If you don't leave me, I'll never abandon you." Shaking his head slightly he assures the girl.

"I won't leave!" Baby 5 yells suddenly, thinking he misunderstood her question.

"Hahahaha good!" Walking to her side he wraps his arm around her shoulder. "You have to listen only to me ok? Don't trust anyone unless I tell you to ok? There are some bad people out there."

"Hmh hmh" Baby 5 furiously nods as she remembers what he says.

"What's your name?" Grabbing her shoulder he walks towards the exit side by side.

"Everyone calls me Baby 5" Looking to the side she stares at Gilgamesh face. "What's your name?"

"Baby 5 Isn't a name, it's more of a label." Looking at her confused face he can't help but smile as the spiderweb door opens.

"For example, I used to be called Baby 1 but now I gave myself the name Gilgamesh."

Baby 5's shoulders drop as she listens to his words "Then I don't have a name?"

"Cheer up" Gilgamesh shakes her lightly "Because you're my handmaiden I'll give you a name."

Baby 5's eyes light up.

"From now on your name is." Gilgamesh pauses for a second as ideas run through his head, but in the end, only a single name stuck in his mind.

"Enkidu"
