Chapter 52

Title: The Winner Takes All...

-Max POV-

Ichiji gathered red flame-like energy in his hand and shot it at me, but I had already predicted his moves. Knowing his power, future special moves, and having Observation haki made me able to predict most of my opponent's attacks like reading a book. Though I didn't have future sight with my Observation, in combination with my knowledge something along those lines as possible. But comparing this with Katakuri's true future sight was out of the question, as he was the real deal and my technique was nothing more than a cheap copy.

Ah~ I wanna be able to look at the future so badly. These Germa 66 weaklings won't be able to give me that challenge needed to develop the future sight level of Observation Haki. Maybe if I didn't use my Devil Fruit they might be able to give me that challenge, but that would end with me dead, and not going all out wouldn't give me the desperation needed to develop my Haki.

Yonji's hand shoots out with a chain attached to it and his glove grabbed into my axe, trying to pull my weapon away. But with one tug, he is sent flying towards me. I clenched my hand around the spiked bat's handle and swung to Yonji's head. It hit head-on.

*CRACK!*

His skull's crunch rung through the area, and his brother wasn't able to save him because Ichiji tried to get close. My axe would slash towards where he would be coming towards. Do these guys even have Haki? Because if they do, then it's kinda shit. No wonder when Sanji got his suit, he was able to overshadow all these trashy, weak, and defective products.

Putting that letter in the hidden compartment of the dead King was a plan to get Germa 66 involved, I thought that they would give me a run for my battles, maybe I would be barely able to win against them. Even now I was on guard in case of a surprise attack.

Ichiji jumped back, abandoning his brother without a second thought. Did he think he could get away? I broke the Rumble Ball that was at the side of my cheek and immediately my body started slimming down. My muscles went from bulky and powerful to slim and fast.

<Rumble Ball: Speed Form>

Swish!

In an instant, I was in front of Ichiji, his eyes widened and with a swipe of my axe, two appendages flew off. He fell as the red-haired young man was now legless.

"Is this it?" I asked the man seriously.

Ichiji smirked. "Fu*k off."

My axe swung down and with no one to save him, it dug through his lungs. Just to make sure, I chopped him up quickly with my axe and crushed his head with my bat. Not once did he show fear, even as he died.

No wonder they aren't strong, if humanity didn't have a sense of fear how would we advance? After all, because we feared the other creatures, we started making weapons. Then we started fearing each other and made even stronger weapons.

Judge might think not having emotions made his children stronger, but no… from my point of view it made them weaker. No emotions meant that the chances of getting Haki and training it to high levels were pretty much impossible. They were like fleshy robots, their path to become stronger was very limited.

"Retreat!" Hearing Judge's yell as he ran off, leaving his clone soldiers to slow me down was amazing. My men got ready to go and fight, this whole time they had just been waiting for my order.

Their faces were excited, having their leader beat the undefeatable Germa 66 was great for morale. So they were pumped up for a fight. Sadly for them though, they are just the spectators of this battle.

I took a deep breath and my Conqueror's Haki rushed out of my body like a wave, knocking out the twenty thousand clone army. Rushing towards Judge, I was in my speed form so he wasn't able to run even ten steps when I was already on him.

"Ahhhh!!" He screamed out in fear, tears running down his eyes. "Germa 66's legacy can't end like this!!"

Fwish!

I decided to cut off his legs so he doesn't cause too much of a fuss. My eyes immediately wandered towards Reiju, she was fighting against Raynare. Of course, my pretty fallen angel was the one winning the battle. She already knew of her opponent's poisonous ability and had countermeasures against it. Her big wings were perfect for creating strong wind to blow away the poison and her Zoan constitution would let her last against the poison even if she got infected. Also, Ray was stronger physically, though she can't train as much as me. She was still a hard worker and wanted to impress me.

But there was no need to let the fight last any longer, Raynare wasn't holding back at all and might actually kill Reiju. Also if Reiju was able to infect Raynare with a dangerous poison and could use her life to bargain with me. So both were situations I didn't want to occur.

I appeared behind the pinkette and one karate chop to her neck and she was unconscious. Niji, who was now one-armed, looked at me with a calm look. "Heh, you-"

Fwish!

His head was separated from his neck, there was no need to listen to the words of a dead man. After that, I killed Yonji who only had his skull cracked and had fallen unconscious.

"Heh, why are we even here if you're gonna just take care of Germa 66 by yourself?" asked Joey, a normal marine soldier. I remember that he used to be skinny Joey before fat Joey died, so skinny is the lamer version of the two.

"You guys are here to clean up," I smirked and pointed at the unconscious clone army. "That's the Germa 66 Clone Army, loyal and genetically engineered for battle and to kill. So there is no need to feel anything, kill them all. They wanted to kill you, but no one kills my soldiers!"

I needed them to muster up the will to kill them, it was better and more efficient to demonize the enemy. Make them seem less than human, a common strategy that was used in war.

After slaughtering them all, the next thing I decided to do was take my army across the mountains and fields of the enemy. My soldiers acted cordial and I even chose some specifically who had family around the parts where we would travel. So this way it made people think that we were one of them and that the mad king should be put down.

The Lulusia kingdom already had at its head a weak King that was my puppet in all but name already. All of his guards are pretty much in my pocket and his whole family could be killed within a snap of my fingers. This wasn't illegal, after all, I just fought on the side that I determined to be the just side against a Mad King. Plus Sharlia was my secret weapon and in the future, the King of Lulusia will be dethroned by one of my means. The people start feeling a sense of belonging towards my people. They must start instinctively being conditioned to think that we are the only ones who can protect them.

-Reiju-

The winner takes all, that was a fact of war. And it didn't change once she opened her eyes and noticed that she wasn't in a familiar place. She sighed, remembering the overwhelming defeat they had. Though she didn't mind what Germa 66 legacy ended, in her eyes Max wasn't that different. Just another evil man replacing her father.

She looked around the room and saw that it was modest, and only had a small bed and desk. Outside of the window, she could see snow, so it was safe to assume that she wasn't even on the same island anymore.

"I see that you are up," said Max before he even opened the door to see if she was up. He had a plate of hot soup in his hands. Reiju looked at the man who had killed three of her brothers but didn't feel even an ounce of hate against him. "Sorry for the small room, it's just that there aren't a lot of free big rooms on my castle."

*sigh* "There is no need to sugarcoat things," said Reiju. "We both know you aren't worried about my feelings."

"As an authority on myself, I would disagree with that statement. I actually do care what you think about me and what your feelings might be on the situation." Max smirked. "After all, I plan to make you my subordinate, and it's very important to keep the people close to me satisfied."
