Chapter 50

Title: A Tragedy for the Weak...

...

Hon was a young man of twenty years old, he was good looking, tall and good with a sword. None of the guards could beat him in a fight. Plus he was a prince and the son of King Uras to boot. So he had won the dice roll of life, even if he was incompetent, his life was guaranteed to be one of wealth and luxury.

Today was supposed to be a good day for him, his father had even hosted a lavish dinner for his family. And by how happy King Uras seemed, then it was safe to assume that the war against Lulusia was going favorably.

Everything was lining up, and today would be perfect. So this was the day Hon was going to tell his father that he planned to go out there in the world and adventure after the war was over.

But as he entered his father's office, only a sight of horror greeted him. The first thing that he saw was the darkness in the room, and also the letters in the wall written 'GIVE UP'... but none of that mattered, as once he saw his father's corpse. His proud father still had a smile on his face as his neck was twisted like rubber and blood pooled all over his body.

Han was in shock, he didn't know what to do… it felt surreal. Like a bad dream, this shouldn't be happening to him! It only happened in horror stories and tragedies.

"AHHHHHHHH!!!" A scream hit his ears, he looked around where it was coming from. But then Han noticed… it was coming from his throat. He was the one screaming. Finally, the situation of what had happened caught up to him. This was reality...

Later on, the people came in to clean the blood and the corpse of the King. Now Han's dreams of adventure had subsided, he became the new king due to being the eldest son.

Though there had been no official coronation ceremony, as they were at war and didn't have the time for these kinds of traditional ceremonies. There was no need for an investigation as it was clear who would benefit the most from King Uras' death. It was the Lulusia Kingdom, and with the bloody writings in the walls the culprit became obvious.

As Hon looked at the desk that had been his father's for years and the man had made most of the critical decisions about this country. "This debt… I will make sure to repay it to our enemies. An eye for an eye!"

"Will leave the world blind," came out another voice and the Queen, a middle-aged woman who still had some of her beauty from her youth and her neck stood straight even due to the heavy crown on her head. She was calm, even though her husband had died not even a couple of hours ago. "That is what your father would have said."

"Then what?! Just let our enemies escape?!" Han was furious, he couldn't believe what his mother was saying. "Also what the hell is working with you?! Your husband just died! Yet you just stand there, or maybe you already have a new lover-"

The Queen slapped her son before he could finish what he was about to say. An angry look adorned her face. "Just because I am trying to be strong for my children doesn't mean that I was an uncaring wife that didn't love her husband."

What neither of them noticed was the small transponder snail hidden in the broken lamp.

Max and Raynare were in the mountains, listening in on their conversation. Both of them had become comfortable and made a campsite.

"The Queen seems like someone we should get rid of," Raynare suggested. "Winning a war won't be enough. We must make the people happy with the new rule."

The smile on Max's face couldn't get any wider. "You are correct, so how do we do that though? How should we make people happy with our rule? After all, they already loved their current King."

She tried to think of something, but all of her ideas were too much of a stretch to be feasible and realistic. So in the end she shook her head. "I can't think of something effective."

"Well, the solution is easy. We kill the Queen, just as you said, and we create a Mad King, a Tyrannical Ruler." Max smirked. "Also it doesn't matter if he is a mad ruler or not, we just need to change the people's minds that he is."

Raynare was once again stunned by what he was implying. To create a 'Mad King' there needed to be a realistic scenario to make him seem 'mad' and what Max had just implied said that people of the royal family needed to start getting killed one by one and create a Mad King. Someone who went to war due to being angry, someone who would do anything to win against his enemies.

"Everyone acts irrationally when the people close to them are killed. I would like to keep the Queen for last, but she must be killed first. That woman is too experienced and too smart, soon she will start seeing things that don't add up. If she reports anything to her son before she dies, then the suspicion will shift to someone else." The way he detailed the explanation made it seem like Max could truly see the future.

Also, the calm demeanor he talked about downing a Kingdom made him seem like all of this was inconsequential to the big picture. "Plus, don't forget, if the World Government got involved, we would be lucky to be able to kill off everyone involved here and erase our tracks."

Ray nodded but suddenly she came to a realization. "But what if the King of Lulusia reported your contact with him?! The World Gov-"

"They would do nothing, also the King of Lulusia would be mad to report me. He loves his daughters too much. In his eyes, I am mad enough to fight the World Government, so it wouldn't be too strange for me to go down with the sinking ship and take revenge on him like a cornered animal." He nodded off while planning to go and do some exercise. Max would like to have someone else he could trust except Raynare.

If he and that, then he wouldn't be in the mountains camping with a pretty girl who is obviously in love with him. That thought made Max stop. 'Wait, why am I even complaining?'

Now that he thought about it, his situation wasn't bad at all. Actually, it was good… "Hey, Raynare."

"Yeah?" She looked at him while looking at some protein bars with a scrunchy face. She didn't like them at all.

"Have you ever thought about me and you having sex?"

"Heh, yeah-" she stopped mid-sentence and stared at Max wide-eyed. "W -What did you say?"

"Why are you so panicky? I just asked if you wanna do it together? You are hot, and I like to think that I am good-looking enough." He admitted, though in Raynare's mind only the word 'hot' rang in her mind.

Her face flushed at impossible proportions. "If it's you I -I don't mind…"

That was good enough for Max so he shrugged and made the first move.

On the other side of the sea, Negan was on his boat, rowing and fast as he could as a huge wave seemed to be chasing him around.

"What the hell?!! Does this wave have a mind of its own?!"

"Ahahaha~ don't worry, I can breathe underwater." Said the mermaid next to him in a jaunty voice. She seemed to be having a good time.

"And I can't! You thot!" Yelled out Negan, his face was filled with fear as he felt like the wave was about to swallow him. "That damn Boss-Man, he is probably with some hot girl messing around."

"I am a hot girl, and we are kinda messing around." Mero intervened unnecessarily.

"It's a different kind of messing around!!" Negan felt like he was about to die from popping a blood vessel. This girl was just too annoying.
