12 Sailing

(Starrk's POV)

We were on the ship sailing on our way to a neighboring island. Apparently, the nation there is quite big.

"So what was the deal with that old guy?" Ricky asked me

I shrugged, "Beats me." I said, "He wanted me to go with him."

"Why didn't you?" He said

"Can't trust him." I replied

There was no telling what the hell was gonna happen with that guy. I mean the geezer was speaking nonsense. Telling me to go with him to his home island and some shit about Ice.

It was just weird. And what did he mean by finding the Royal Wolf's Pelt? What was that?

Besides, I have other things to worry about. I have to find a way to achieve my task as quickly as possible.

The thing is, I have no clue where to start. I don't know what time period I'm at. Kizaru wasn't an admiral yet and I don't even know when he became one. Could be ten years before the start of the story or more.

I do know Roger is dead so I'm within a 24 year time period.

"Who is the most suited…" i muttered

Liam looked at me, "What, bruv?"

I shook my head, "No, nothing." I said, "Hey, by the way, do you guys know of any major events?"

Ricky shrugged, "I don't know, man." He said, "Haven't read the paper in a while."

As in cue, I heard one of the sailors shout something to someone.

"Oi! The news coo just delivered a paper!" He said, "Its pretty fucking crazy!"

I perked my head up from where I was sitting. We were on the far corner of the deck, sitting atop some of the barrels that were there.

"Newspaper?" I said standing up and walking up to the sailor, "Hey, do you mind letting me read that?"

He raised an eyebrow, "Who're you?" He asked, "And uhm, yea I guess."

He handed me the paper.

I grabbed it and read the contents.I then widened my eyes in surprise.

"Can't believe that guy did that." He said, "I thought he was one of the decent pirates. But hey, pirates are pirates. What can you do about it."

"No way…" I said as I kept reading the paper

It read: "Pirate Known as Shanks lays a country to ruin."

What could this mean? I don't remember any of this. Shanks destroying a country?

Wait. Wait a minute. I think I do remember something. If I know correctly, this takes place during the time Shanks was based in Foosha Village over in the East!

"So its that thing with Uta…" I muttered under my breath

So this was 12 years before the current timeline in the story, post-timeskip….

Shanks is a pirate, not a Yonko yet. I would assume that Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom are all emperors. Who's the fourth? Shiki? No, that can't be right. He was in impel down, no? Wait, he did escape apparently. He's currently MIA…

Most importantly, Luffy is still a kid. And I assume Shanks hasn't given him the hat yet. The other straw hats are also kids, with the exception of the oldest members. The supernovas are also younger and I also assume they haven't started their journey.

This was tough. Who the hell should be a proper candidate for Pirate King? Who do I help find the One Piece in this current time period?!

"Damn…" I said,

"What do I do?"

(3rd Person View)

Somewhere in The New World, a large ship with a massive whale figurehead was sailing the waters.

On it, a large man sat on a chair. He had a large majestic white mustache.

He had a newspaper on his hand as he read it and a sake gourd on his other as he poured it onto his mouth.

This was none other than Edward Newgate, Whitebeard himself.

Next to him, members of his crew were lined up to see what he'll say about the news the world was currently reacting to. In the front of the crowd, Marco and Vista were seen present. They had serious frowns on their faces as they silently waited for their captain to speak.

Whitebeard burped as he wiped his mouth with his wrist.

"What the hell is that Red Haired Brat doing?" He grumbled, "Something doesn't seem right, he isn't the type to destroy a nation…"

Marco spoke up, "You're right, Pops." He said, "Something seems fishy. Its like the government are pinning something on him."

Vista nodded, "But nevertheless, seems the fault is placed on him."

Whitebeard placed the newspaper down and gulped more sake down.

He then placed the gourd down and burped again.

"That aside, lets move on to our current situation." He said, "Marco, what's the word of our rumored friend?"

Marco shrugged, "Can't say for sure." He said crossing his arms, "Last he was seen was on a warship when Kaido's men attacked it for some reason."

Whitebeard raised an eyebrow, "So that brat is also interested in him, huh?" He said, "Gurarara….seems this boy is something special, eh?"
