8 Chapter 8- Garp

Unlike the Daily Quest rewards, the option of the full status recovery was absent, but well, what he needed right now was the additional Stat points anyways.

He was momentarily worried about there being a huge difference in rewards since they were from a Penalty Quest and all, but he was relieved to find three points waiting for him.

Yale hummed joyously to himself.

"Add all three points to the Strength stat."

Tti-ring.

[Stat]

Strength: 16

Stamina: 10

Agility: 10

Intelligence: 40

Perception: 10

(Available points to distribute: 0)

His Strength jumped up from 13 to 16.

Yale stood next to the bed again and put some strength in his arms. And he was able to lift the bed a lot easier than before. He could tell the difference now.

"It's for real....!!"

His physical strength had improved.

If he were to consider the change purely through the Stats alone, then the starting value of 10 had increased by 60% so how could he fail to notice the improvement?

Now feeling completely elated, he went around the room and began picking up not just the bed, but everything he could lay his hands on, and generally made a mess of things inside.

Only after Haku passed by heard the commotion and scolded him did he stop his tomfoolery.

"....I'm very sorry."

As soon as Haku left his room, Yale spat out a sigh of relief.

"Whew."

However, he couldn't calm down at all. His heart was beating like crazy.

Thud, thud. Thud, thud!

His chest hurt.

The Daily Quest would continue to show up every day, and the Stat points as the reward!

As long as this unexplainable phenomenon didn't come to a sudden end, he'd be able to live a completely different life from the one he'd been leading until now.

This was an unbelievable opportunity for him.

Besides that, the Stat Window also showed his 'level'.

'Does this mean I can also increase my level, too?'

Eventually, though – Yale shook his head.

'Eiii, there's no way.'

Now that would be too good to be true. He wasn't hoping that far, anyway. The rewards from the quests alone were plenty enough for him.

He'd use the Stat points to increase his abilities. Every day he'd grow to be stronger – compared to yesterday, he'd be stronger today; compared to today, he'd be stronger tomorrow.

Time kept passing, and Yale's life kept going. His black long hair kept growing so his mother would often comb them for him. Baki kept teaching him martial art and sportsmanship and occasionally Yale would play with luffy.

And just like that 7 years passed!

Yale washed his face and put himself in a cross-legged position on the floor, breathing in a strange but rhythmic way. Seeing how smoothly the process went, you could see how he was used to this process.

His body muscles would bulge from time to time only to return to the normal size with a slight increase in volume.

After about an hour, he woke up from his meditation with traces of sweat on his body.

'The Ice-Fire revolving technique is a manual to strengthen the body through forcibly absorbing energy during the day. This technique helped me reach the limit of the strength of a teenage boy

So this means that I have to wait until my body grows up and allows me to absorb more energy.'

Then he got up and picked a short metal saber from under his bed. Flicking his wrist, the saber disappeared and appeared in another position from a different angle. After he did this exercise with both his hands for a while he put the saber back under his bed, then he lay on it and fell into deep thought.

'The snake-wrist technique is just a trick to surprise your enemies and finish them in one hit, it's not worth being called a combat technique. The other forms that I learned from Baki are either part of a set or are about weapons that I still cannot wield. What should I do now? Do I have to wait 5 years before officially applying for the marine or becoming a pirate? This is way too slow, especially since I can't make valuable progress in these years.'

7 years passed, and I discovered multiple things. Progress had significantly slowed down. When I first obtained the system and completed the daily quest, I was assigned 3 points, but now I would be lucky to receive 0.15 points.

I gave up on the idea to manipulate Ace and Sabo. Ace would die anyways, and I wouldn't gain any usefulness from helping him anyways

Progress

This is way too slow, especially since I can't make valuable progress in these years.

My stream of thoughts kept going for a while as I started to consider more illicit ways.

I need to explore the outside world, but that would require me to steal a ship. There is the death penalty for crimes and if I get caught. I can't stay here anymore or I will stagnate

'I don't think I can leave after all. To be more precise, I don't want to leave. Apart from my new parents in this world, the outside world isn't something I can handle right now!

I still don't know anything about armament haki or conquerors haki!

The best course of action should be becoming a Marine, a high-ranking one, and sucking dry all their resources before leaving to be a pirate.

"But how maybe Luffy's grandpa can help me become a Marine?"

With that logic, I drove my way to mount Colubo. Normally it would take me 30-40 minutes, but with my lv 21 dash coupled with my Lv 41 agility, it took me less than 5 minutes to get there.

The first time I was here Luffy introduced me to everyone including Ace and Sabo. at first, Ace was acting arrogant, and sabo was timid, but as time passed they came to accept me as a friend. Ace even asked me if I wanted to drink with them as a band of brothers.

Of course, I agreed.

These moments make me think back to my previous life. How are my siblings? Did they come to terms with my death or did they just forget me?

"Old man, can you hear me?" I shouted to Garp, who was napping while standing.

"What! you want me to throw you off that cliff again?"

"Gramps.....I want you to help me??" I asked in the kindest way I could.

Garp looked at me with disdain and curiosity. Buffy and the others heard the commotion and surrounded the old man.

"Don't beat around the bush. you're creeping me out!" Garp's voice beamed through the small house.

"Fine, I want to become a Marine!" I cried out

"..." What greeted me was silence. A creepy smile appeared on Garp's face

"Ohhh, our little boy is becoming a man!" laughed Garp hugging me. After Garp released me from his bone-crushing hug to my side Ace screamed

"like hell that's happening, you old geezer!" was the fiery remark of Ace. Now, he was 100% sure that the old man has gone insane if he thinks that he can watch his brother go with his whacky plan.

"yeah, Yale is not doing that!" argued monkey D Luffy back to his old man, who was now practically foaming out of his mouth, while I facepalmed at how the luffy was ignoring the main issue at hand.

However, all of their arguments fell on deaf ears as their grandfather, Marine vice admiral monkey D Garp, punched both of them on the head sending both of the brothers flying

"Don't you have parents!" Garp turned to me.

"They are going to accept as long as you take me under, ask if I become a Marine Luffy and Ace might have a change of heart!" I lied to Garp. there is no way these two would ever think about becoming marines.

"It's decided then, You'll leave with me tomorrow, Also you probably won't be coming back here"

"Okay, but you will have to convince my father and mother!" before eToro could respond, I quickly fled from the chaos and proceeded straight home to prepare everything for the trip.

"Open Inventory"

Suddenly a black hole appeared in front of me. I pushed everything into the black hole. I hesitate between telling my parents, but I ended up decided not to tell them.

Garp will have to tell them.
