Surrounded

After I got my hand on the Mera Mera no Mi, we changed our destination and sailed to Orange Town to rest and resupply, I also wanted to get some ammunition as I thought I could make use of my gun in some way.

The other reason is because Calvin kept bugging to get a navigator, so I decided I will try to temporary hire someone for now.

But I'm still thinking of recruiting Laffitte, he is a significantly skilled navigator, a stealth master and he has the ability to hypnotize people and if you can earn his trust, he is going to be loyal to you as we saw in the case of Blackbeard, he is just perfect if we exclude his twisted personality.

The problem is that he lives in west blue, and we are about 20 years before the original story, that makes him around twenty years old, so I don't know if he acquired those skills yet.

When we arrived at the port, we docked the ship and after that we made our way to the town. I was hungry so I decided to go eat in a restaurant while Calvin wanted to look around the town.

I happened to pass by a restaurant that was not too far from the port. I went in and ordered some food and ate until I was full.

Once I finished eating, I went to visit the marketplace to look for a fabric shop, I asked people around and they gave me directions to several shops, I went to check the closest one.

When I arrived at the shop I immediately entered without a delay.

"Welcome Sir! How can I serve you?!" An old man with a handlebar mustache greeted me respectfully. I walked to him and greeted him back then I proceeded to ask him some questions.

"Do you accept custom made requests or do you only sell what you have here?" I asked while looking around the shop.

"We do both. You can tell me if you have something specific you want to make" He replied.

"Good" I turned back to him.

"I want you to make something for me" I said to him then I brought out a piece of paper that had something drawn in it. It was a design of my pirate flag that I drew.

It has a skull wearing a hat that resembles mine and instead of the typical cross bones, it has a skeleton arm holding a gun and the other one is a skeleton fist.

"It's a flag"

I handed the paper to the old man and asked him to make a flag with the design. When he saw it was a pirate flag, he was shocked and looked at me hesitantly not knowing what to say.

When I saw his reaction, I took out a sack of money from my pocket and handed it to him, it had a lot more than he needed. He looked at the money and kept thinking for a bit then made his decision.

"Very well, please come back tomorrow" he told me.

"Ok" I said to him then I left the shop and headed to an inn. I ran into Calving on the way, and we went together. When we arrived, we grabbed a few drinks and talked for a while.

"I hear all pirates aspire to enter the grand line, are we also going at some point?" Calvin asked me while holding a cup in his hand.

"Do you think I will stay in the weakest sea forever? when we are ready, we will enter the grand line" I answered him then I called the waiter and tried to ask him a favor.

"Me and my friend here are looking for a navigator for our ship, if you happen to come across anyone interested, I would appreciate it if you told us." I handed him some cash.

"Very well, I'll let you know if there is anyone" the waiter replied and left.

Next Day

We were sitting in the same inn having some drinks when the waiter approached.

"There someone who is interested in your offer" He said to me then he pointed at an old man behind him.

"I heard you guys are looking for a navigator, I can work for you for the right price" The old man said, he looked healthy and was in good shape.

The waiter then left us alone.

"Are you okay with working for pirates?" Calvin asked him.

"As long as I get paid, I'll work for anyone" The old man said then Calvin proceeded to ask him some questions to make sure his right for the job and then we negotiated the price.

"Alright! Welcome on board!!" I reached for a handshake.

"Thank you! I'm Ken by the way" He shook my hand and introduced himself.

"I'm Ashen the captain and this is Calvin my right hand"

"We'll be leaving in three hours so meet us at the port in time" I said then left them.

After that I went to the fabric shop from yesterday and got my flag then I kept strolling around until it was almost the time to leave.

On my way to the port, I saw Calvin rushing to me.

"We got a problem!!" He said in hurry.

"What's wrong?" I asked him.

"Marines, they surrounded the port. They have at least three ships and they brought a marine captain" he explained the situation.

"What about Ken?"

"His already waiting for us there!"

"Alright let's go!" We quickly rushed to the port.

10 minutes later,

(Third Person Pov)

Somewhere near the port a figure was standing on the center holding a sword in front of him surrounded with dozens of marine soldiers, and in his right-side was standing Morgan.

"Are you sure we can trust you information?" The figure was wearing a marine cloak coat with 'Justice' printed in its back.

"I'm positive Captain Kotsumi, they're both here" Morgan replied to him.

"This better not be a waste of my time" He said, Kotsumi is a middle-aged man with a light brown beard, short hair and a muscular body.

(First Person Pov)

After we arrived near the port, we saw a lot of marine soldiers surrounding the entrance with a figure standing in the center.

"That guy most be the captain!" Calving said.

"Is that Morgan?" I was surprised to see him again so soon. He must be the one responsible for this. When Calving saw him, he was furious.

"HE IS THAT FUCKER FROM LAST TIME!! Captain, let me deal with him!!" This is the first time I saw Calvin this angry. It was understandable as Morgan tried to kill his brother and daughter.

"Do what you want, I'll take the marine captain" After I said that we approached the marines and got ready to fight.

Once we got close enough, they noticed us.

"Hmm?...is that them?" Kotsumi asked Morgan.

"Yes, looks like they intend to fight" Morgan replied then Kotsumi moved a few steps forward and unsheathed his sword.

"SURRENDER YOURSELVE CRIMINALS!! WE ALREADY SEIZED YOUR SHIP AND SURROUNDED THE TOWN, THERE IS NO ESCAPE FOR YOU!!" Kotsumi shouted at us.

Upon hearing his words, I pulled out my gun and aimed at him, then without any hesitation I pulled the trigger.

"*GUNSHOT*"

"…" He was surprised at my action, but he quickly moved aside and avoided the bullet, but it still managed to hit the marine behind him. The soldier immediately fell dead on the ground.

"You Fucker!!..." Kotsumi said with a menacing look, you could already see his bulging forehead veins.

"We are pirates!! Do you think we'll turn ourselves just because you said so?" I said to him in a low tone while keeping eye contact "Don't make stupid jokes like that again!"

"Pirates you say…now I have even more reasons to capture you today"

"It's payback time, Pirate Hunter" Morgan pulled out his axe.

"How did you know we were here?" Calvin asked him.

"Your friend was pretty careless." he replied, then charged at Calvin.

Kotsumi ordered his men to attack us, and they immediately started shooting. I used Soru to avoid bullets and close the distance then Shigan to kill them individually. I wasn't going to have mercy on an enemy that is trying to kill me.

Calvin was also smashing them with his fist while dodging Morgan's attacks at the same time, he got a lot stronger in these past weeks training with me.

"You little punk!" When Kotsumi saw his men getting beaten and killed easily, he decided to step up and fight himself.

"Stay back you guy! you're not his opponent" He ordered his men to move back then he lunged at me swinging his sword down.

I used Soru to move behind him in high speed then aimed my finger at his head and tried to use Shigan but he managed to quickly react and used his sword to block my attack.

"You…I was right, those are the secret marine Rokushiki techniques, I saw people from the Headquarter use them before" he looked at me for a bit then asked me "how the hell did a pirate from east blue like you learn them?" He looked at me curiously.

I didn't answer his question and proceeded to punch him using Tekkai. He managed to block it but got pushed back a few meters then without giving him the time to react I used Soru and appeared in front of him.

"Nothing personal" I said to him while aiming my gun at his head. His eyes widened in fear, and he looked terrified.

"W-Wai-*GUNSHOT*" Before he finished his sentence, I pulled the trigger and he died immediately. His men looked horrified at the scene.

He was pretty strong for an east blue marine captain, but he was still weaker than me.

"CAPTAIN KOTSUMI IS DEAD!!!" One of the marines shouted.

"REPORT BACK TO THE BASE QUICKLY!!"

"Like I will let you do that!" I started cleaning the rest of the marines.

When Morgan heard the gunshot, he turned back to see what happen and when he saw his captain's dead body, he got furious.

"YOU BASTARD, WHAT DID YOU DO?!!!" Morgan shouted at me.

"DID YOU FORGET ABOUT ME?!!" Calvin knocked him down with a punch.

"ARGHHHH!!" Morgan groaned in pain and there was blood coming from his mouth.

"Don't be sad…You'll soon join him" Morgan looked intimidated. Calvin then grabbed him from his collar and started raining him down with punches until his face became unrecognizable and finally, he grabbed his axe and finished him off.

"Good job!" I said to him. He had a few cuts and bruises in his body but nothing serious.

"Looks like you didn't have any trouble, as excepted." Once the battle finished the marine ships that were surrounding the port retreated.

After that Ken finally showed up, he was apparently hiding among civilians to not draw any attention.

"You guys are crazy! You just killed a marine captain." Ken said nervously.

"If the marines come after us, we are dead!!"

"Relax, they don't even know about you. We are going to enter the grand line soon so just do your job until then and I will make sure to protect you." I assured him.

"I think I made I mistake…" he looked down.

I walked to him and put my hand on his shoulder "It's not like you can back down anyway" I tried to intimidate him so he can come back to his mind.

"Ha-haha…o-of course!" He laughed nervously.

"Good, then let's move!"
