12 Chapter 10: A Painful Experience

~Pain's POV~

Right now I was focused on my task but I felt very conflicted on some points. I would rather not associate myself with outsiders and take orders from anyone besides master. Although this is a temporary arrangement it still irritates me. It's been a couple of days since I left, the marines aboard the battleship kept a wary-way distance from me and a clear disgusted face visible to even blind people. I've kept in contact with master through chakra transmission via the akatsuki rings and understood that I can't act impulsively during this mission but I do have limits. The weird fruit named guy always kept trying to intimidate me throughout the trip and spoke to me like he has known me for years and I ruined his life?

'Probably a superiority complex. Master did mentioned previously that the marines are a corrupt force on the seas.'

Focusing back to the door of this cabin, vice admiral scum (Strawberry) walked in earlier then expected today with a more serious face then the previous times.

'I am prepared to collect all the secrets and other relevant information until everything is an open book to the akatsuki.'

Strawberry: "We're here Pain so, get out! I want you also to now that at marineford you have to behave otherwise I will get some extra training practice on exterminating pirates."

Right now I'm supposed to collect information from the enemy so I couldn't care less of whatever else that doesn't have anything to do with me or my business. Not to lower my IQ points anymore I decided to let myself out and walk out the door.

Pain: "Hm."

Strawberry: 'Is this pirate scum trying to make me seem like the villain, this freak-eyed...' "I'm just trying to make some conversation so at least reply."

Realising that not caring so much might be suspicious I stopped at the doorway and looked back at strawberry while thinking of what to say to make conversation.

Pain: "Hm."

'Nah, still don't care.'

and I walked into Marineford.

So far I'm making mental notes of the area and buildings, it looks like a cleaner and better structures of my previous world in Amegakure. I hope this will be useful to akatsuki's future plans.

~Sengoku POV~

As I entered the conference room I looked up to see pirates that I once ordered the navy to hunt down leisurely seating in silence.

'This is all to keep the balance of the world and to strength the marines fighting power. My personal opinion won't cloud my resolve for wider justice.'

"Hello and welcome to Marineford seven warlords, as you know I'm fleet admiral Sengoku and I've decided to gather all of you to control various pirates in the seas so that the balance of the world can be sustained. First off I would like to introduce you all to your future companions, Crocodile who at the Sand Sand logia type fruit, Boa Hancock who ate the Mero Mero (love) paramecia type fruit, Bartholomew Kuma who ate the Paw Paw paramecia fruit, Jinbei who practices the mighty fishman karate, Dracule Mihawk who is known as the world's strongest swordsman, Doflamingo who ate the String String paramecia type fruit and lastly an unknown but powerful new pirate who has been confirmed to have recently killed Moria and took up his candidate position as a warlord. This is Pain of the akatsuki pirates and since I have mentioned all the others powers I feel it's only fair to state yours."

As I finished my piece everyone's attention went to Pain who sat at the end of the table staring at the rest of the individuals present like he might die if he looks away.

'This might just be a weird habit'

Anyways this may seem as an act of manners but it's also my excuse to understands this new variables powers so that there won't be any mistakes in the future. After a few moments Pain stared directly at me and final spoke.

Pain: "I practice my own 'original martial arts that affects the forces of suction, repulsion and nature in a sense. It's hard to explain and even harder to contend with."

Is this a martial arts master or a bragging idiot, what technique can affect the fundamental forces of the world and still not be a devil fruit capable person. I have to see it, maybe even use it to train the navy but I need a reason for him to perform it.

Jinbei: "I would like to request for Pain to have a battle of martial arts to see who is better. My fishman karate utilises water as a weapon."

I really wanted to thank Jinbei for volunteering, just need the other parties approval.

Pain: "Hm."

What was that, why does it seem that life including his own is of no concern to him, does he not care about anything?

'Pain what is your pirates ambition?'

"You can have your duel outside"

Everyone present then headed to the marine training field and took up their position as audience while Pain and Jinbei stood opposing each other.

Doflamingo: "This will either be interesting or boring, I hope for the latter to happen right Crocodile?"

Crocodile: "I believe Pain will lose immediately and if he hides that he ate a devil fruit it would end faster as Jinbei uses water to add to fish murfoc strength, plus I acknowledge him."

Dracule: "Since this doesn't involve a battle of swordsman I don't care."

Boa: "These prideful men are only licking dogs to this concubine."

Kuma: "..."

The battle began, Jinbei channeled the water that he brought over and enveloped his fist in it and without a second to breathe rushed ahead to strike Pain down who didn't even seem to move to dodge or block. As the distance between the two grew closer I notice Pain lifting his left hand in front of him and spoke, "Almighty Push!". Time seemed to stop and my Observation haki went crazy as if to say that the danger could be life threatening to myself if I was the target. Looking closely what I found was a cloud a smoke which after clearing I was astonished, Pain seemed as fine as when they started and Jinbei was walking out of a hole in the wall that wasn't there before.

'Does his martial arts involve the use of air cannons like some of the marines 6-styles? But to such an extent this is a once in a century martial arts genius!'

Jinbei: "That was incredible, I have a lot of moves and flaws I wish to improve in the future so lets learn from each other."

Pain: "Hm."

Seeing the scene before me I could only assume that this is a type a connection martial artists have with each other. The navy will benefit if we can learn this martial arts because if a human created it others can learn it, so Pain needs to be watched more in the future or at the very least have a good relationship with so he would willing teach it to our navy. Standing up I guided the warlords back into the conference room and we discussed different allocations of territories they will upheld.

'ahh the paperwork for this!'

~Pain POV~

After my 'fight' with this fellow named Jinbei I decided in my heart that the strength of these guys on average can be mid-kage level strength not including if they know any haki. I should send master my knowledge for him to decide on future actions.

'Hopefully I could go back after a while and not come back for a long time. If I have to listen to these individuals argue on useless topics such as territory I might just swim back and take a chance with the seakings on my way back.

"What a pain." muttering to myself which was not heard by anyone I sat quietly and just kept observing with my rinnegan.
