Pirate - Pirates have long been a part of the way of life in the One Piece world.

A pirate is, broadly speaking, any professional criminal that operates wholly or partially on the world's seas, especially people conducting robbery by ship. In most, if not all, cases they lead or belong to a group of like-minded criminals, known as a crew.

Though not the only existing type of criminal, pirates appear to comprise most of the world's significant bounty heads.

Marine - Marines are the World Government's military sea force, tasked with law enforcement, international security, and military operations. They are present on all the seas around the world, as evidenced by their branch offices. However, the main focus of their assets is on the far more dangerous Grand Line.

Bounty Hunter - Bounty hunters are people who make a living out of catching criminals for the bounty on their heads.

It is typically common practice to capture criminals alive rather than kill them, as it is stated that they could lose up to 30% of the bounty if they killed their target.

Successful bounty hunters will often inevitably become well-known, especially by wanted criminals, and even normal civilians may become afraid of them. Since they operate outside the law, bounty hunters have been known to partake in criminal activity, although being labeled as criminals typically prevents them from bounty hunting again since they can no longer deal with the government. Even though bounty hunters may not be labeled as criminals, they seem to be held in disdain by law enforcement like the Marines.]

Peace Main

A peace main is a pirate who goes on adventures and does not care about treasure or fighting other pirates. That is not to say that they would not steal and fight other pirates at all, but their primary goal is usually not to own it and greed is generally not their motivation. More often than not, a peace main pirate sees his or her crew as their most valuable treasure.

Morganeer

A morganeer fights for treasures and personal ambition. They are greedy, love to fight, and often enjoy causing other people pain and misery. The peace main pirates generally only steal from morganeers, so it is safe to say that relations between the two types of pirates are not the best.
