Time Skip - part 1

*1506 - Marine headquarters*

Standing in front of a mirror, was a beautiful young girl.

She was currently thirteen years old. Her hair had grown and now reached around her knees, her eyes still had their ethereal glow yet seemed more mature.

Her height had reached 6'0. Apart from her height changing, her body had also become more toned. You could see the outline of her muscles, not overly developed that she looks buff, but compact yet powerful.

This person was naturally Chizuki.

It has been four years since she took the marine test. Four years of which she spent training under both Garp and Sengoku. Of course, they didn't always have time to train her given their positions in the marines, but they trained her whenever they were free.

When they weren't free, she would either train alone using the routine Sengoku made for her, or train with a few of the others she could find at the training yard.

-

These four years were certainly interesting though, a lot has changed. She discovered a lot about herself.

Mainly about her talents.

To start with. She was intelligent. She could pretty much learn anything with extreme speeds. Mostly after just seeing it once or twice.

An example of this would be the rokushiki. The six marine techniques consisting of:

1. Kami-E: This allows the user to dodge attacks by turning of your mind and allowing your body to move like paper. This is accomplished by entering a sort of trance that allows your body to move purely on instinct with great flexibility.

2. Rankyaku: This allows the user to shoot out high pressured wind blades from their feet that will slash anything in their way. This is done through pure speed. You angle your foot a certain way and kicking out at high speed and strength, generating a wind blade.

3: Shigan: A technique That vastly strengthens the arms of the user and allows them to use their fingers as weapons. The damage caused by said fingers is said to be more Lethal than a bullet. This is accomplished by strengthening the muscles in the arms and flexing them in a certain way upon attacking for more piercing power.

4. Gepo: A technique in which the user kicks the air at great strength and speed allowing them to jump higher. It can be used multiple times allowing the user to remain in the air and even move around giving off the impression you're flying.

5. Tekkai: Hardening the muscles within the body a certain way instantly allowing them to become as hard as iron. This allows the user to negate a lot of attacks.

6. Soru: The technique she learned during her test. Kicking the floor several times in an instant allowing the user to move at blinding speeds.

All six techniques were taught to her during her second year, and she learnt them all almost instantly. She hasn't mastered them, however. The main reason being that her body Is not developed enough for her to master the techniques.

An example of this would be tekkai. This technique is more male orientated since it requires the user to harden muscles in a certain way, instantly. She, as a young girl, doesn't have a buildup of muscle, nor are they hard.

This means mastering this technique will be a lot harder for her and that even if she masters it, it won't be to the same standard as someone like Garp.

Soru, however, is the one she uses most and the one she is best at since it uses speed and strength equally. What she lacks in strength, she can make up for in speed.

-

Another thing she discovered about herself, and probably the most important one, is her special physique.

To explain it in simple terms... The more she's exposed to, the stronger she becomes. Every punch she takes, her body learns from and uses it to push itself further. Every time her body breaks, its uses itself as a foundation to build itself back up. Faster and stronger than before.

Even her healing.

The more her body heals, the faster her healing becomes. It seems that her body constantly adapts due to external influence, she just doesn't know what her limits are... or if she has any.

Of course, Garp and Sengoku also figured this out during her training... well, Sengoku did, Garp just noticed that every time he punched her, he had to put a tiny bit more strength into his fist than the previous punch.

-

The final thing she learned about herself during these four years is that she loves to fight. In fact, fighting is probably what she enjoyed the most during these past four years. She sparred against anyone she could from Garp to Sengoku, the marine captains around her and even the new recruits.

She especially loves to fight Garp since she looks forward to the day she can finally land a punch and wipe that stupid cocky grin he maintains throughout their entire fights. Not to mention his laugh. Every punch is followed by a Bwahaha. It's funny the first ten times, but after that, it's infuriating.

The captains eventually started using her to "humble" new recruits. A sort of reality check.

A lot of recruits who joined and trained for a few years get cocky thinking they can take down any pirate who stands in their way. Then they get thrown in front of a young girl and told to fight her.

It usually starts with a lot of mocking, making fun of her gender, her age and how "weak" she is. Then they begin fighting and it changes to irritation and rage upon not being able to defeat her.

And then it changes to humility upon getting their asses handed to them but that's a story for another day.

-

The first year of her training focused solely on her body. Her training consisted of weight training, running, and stamina training. Her schedule was pretty much:

4:30 AM: Wake up and eat breakfast

6 AM - 9 AM: Weight training.

9 AM: 10 AM: Rest/food

10 AM - 12 PM - Running

12 PM - 1 PM - Rest/Food

1 PM - 2 PM - More weight training

2 PM- 3 PM - Rest

3 PM - 6 PM - sparring

and the rest of the day was spent doing whatever she wanted. At the beginning, the training was hell. As soon as she finished, she would go straight home and collapse only to feel like she had to wake up seconds later to repeat it.

But, after around two or three days, she got used to it. She still went home with an aching body, but it wasn't as bad as before. As the days went by, her strength, stamina, speed, her body became stronger and stronger.

The speed at which she progressed shocked everyone.

-

The second year was focused on strength and techniques. This included learning how to fight. Obviously, she had picked up a thing or two through her spars given her comprehension abilities but most of the people she fought against were arrogant marines who thought they were big shots.

They had mainly just trained their bodies and learned the Rukoshiki techniques so she couldn't learn too much from observing them, thus she had to improvise. During her spars, she observed how each of them attacked and thought of the best way to counter.

Eventually, the more she trained, the faster and sharper she became, and she started on the path of developing her own fighting style that revolves around counter attacks. This way she can make use of her speed and flexibility, and then hit them in their weak spots harder than they would imagine.

She even has the idea of somehow merging Kami-E with her fighting style making it a formless, instinctual style based on counter attacks that end the fight mere seconds after it begins.

-

During her second year, her strength training mainly consisted of wearing weights in her daily life. She was required to run 25 miles TWICE. Once in the morning and one in the afternoon, both times she continued to wear weights.

She was then told to do around:

500 push ups

500 sit ups

1000 squats

A thirty minute hand stand and a thirty minute plank.

-

Garp was the one who taught her how to fight. Sengoku usually supervised and pointed out area's where she could improve since Garps' logic was: "If you don't win, you simply didn't punch hard or fast enough"

Their "fights" were more or less her running at him, trying everything she can to hit him, pushing her brain to the limits by making new strategies, and then Garp punching her and sending her bouncing across the courtyard for a dozen or so meters. Literally.

Upon learning about her physique, he became a bit more heavy handed since it would only benefit her more in the end. This usually resulted in her being tossed around like a doll and hearing his annoying laugh as she's flung through the air.

The stronger she got, the closer she got to hitting him... or so she thought. Every time she feels like she's close to hitting him, he simply increases his energy output from 1% to 2% and then they're back to square one.

-

Well, that's how she sees it, but it's not the case. Comparing herself to Garp is extremely stupid. The man is pretty much an alien with muscles and crackers for brains. He's an outlier in terms of strength even among the marines. Even without a devil fruit, he's capable of going toe to toe with the strongest people in the world for days, If not weeks, on end.

Let's not forget the fact that the man tests his strength by seeing how many mountains he can destroy... newsflash, it was eight.

To her, it may look like her process is slow, but in actuality, it's monstrous. None of the recruits from before even try to challenge her anymore since it usually ends with her dodging a single attack and then nearly breaking their jaw with a right hook or their chin with an uppercut.

I mean, you don't really want to be on the receiving end of a right hook with the force of truck behind it do you, cause they certainly don't.

Thus, she stopped receiving challenges and instead focused on trying to hit Garp. Her proficiency in her techniques skyrocketed because of this. If learning the technique required you to understand 10% of it, after repeatedly fighting Garp, her mastery increased to around 70%. The only thing holding her back is her body. (she's ten here)

-

The remaining two years of her training could be described as a literal hell, however. If you were to compare the first two years to the last two years, it's like comparing dropping your phone on your face to stepping on Lego and then stubbing your toe.

Yeah, the first one is annoying but it is more of an irritation, the second one is something you only wish on your worst enemies.

The reason behind the increase in difficulty is that she needed experience. Fighting against Garp is good, but there is no danger. She knows she is safe and thus her battle instincts are lacking compared to the rest of her skills.

Sengoku, however, decided to leave this part up to Garp since he could not leave the marine headquarters for weeks or even months at a time, thus, he threw Chizuki into the hands of the devil.

Garps idea of experience training revolves around throwing her into life or death situations and telling her to survive. He started off "easy" and got worse the longer she survived.

Garp took her to an island a few days away from the headquarters. A huge island filled with nothing but forests made up of huge trees. From a distance it looked quite peaceful, but the truth is that only animals inhabit the island hence there was an abundant amount of them wanting to kill her.

The first "trial" was throwing her into a pit and then throwing in a tiger and screaming good luck. Thankfully, he only threw in one at a time. As soon as she defeated one of them, another would instantly be thrown at her giving her no time for rest.

After defeating ten of them one on one, he then started throwing in two at a time. Each ran at her intending to make her their next meal.

Tigers also have skin several times thicker than a humans so her punches weren't as effective as usual, thus she had to adapt constantly, targeting their weak spots.

The under belly is fairly week compared to the rest of their body, and of course, the eyes...
