4 Monkey D. Garp

In a room on Garp's marine ship.

Garp was watching his little grandson and his partner while they were sleeping together on a bed. Both of them were snoring and cuddling together. Sometimes the little dragon would bite Luffy with his huge mouth and Luffy would scream, but then they both went back to snoring without waking up.

Garp was sitting beside them and couldn't help but frown. His goofy expression wasn't seen on his face at this moment.

"This little creature, what the hell is that?"

The fact that the ability 'Rough Skin' could do so much damage to a monster like Garp left him baffled. The marine hero was no joke, if you can compete with Gol D. Roger, then you were one of the strongest guys in this world. There were only a handful of people that could injure him. Not to mention that this creature was only a little ball with a big mouth that didn't seem older than his grandson.

His grandson astonished him even more. If someone told him that his little monkey learned observation Haki at the tender age of six, Garp would never believe him. When they fought against each other he saw the confidence in his grandson's eyes, like he knew every move Garp would throw at him. This look of confidence can only be seen in a Haki user, Garp fought against countless people with the same expression. He couldn't be mistaken, somehow this little brat learned observation Haki, never seen before in a six-year-old boy. At least he never saw one and the marines recruited thousands of young boys every year.

He saw that his grandson woke up and rubbed his eyes. Garp grinned and wanted to greet him. He took a little stone out of his pocket and threw it towards the face of his grandson. That is what you call a loving grandparent.

Luffy, while still rubbing his eyes, evaded the stone easily by turning his head to the left. Then he yawned.

Garp couldn't help but sweat. What a cheeky brat. After the stone couldn't hit Luffy, it flew against the wall and left a huge hole in it. If that stone would hit Luffy's head, then nobody would know if this boy would survive that.

"Gramps. It's so rare to see my only family member in this world. Nice to see you."

Garp frowned. He frowned like never before in his life. He heard a little bit of sarcasm in the sentence of his grandson. Sarcasm? This boy was an idiot the last time he saw him, who didn't even know what the word 'sarcasm' meant.

"Gramps, what is it this time? Will you throw me in the middle of the sea so I can swim back to an island for several days? Or will you throw me into a dark cave with huge bats or something? Oh, or is it the classic jungle?"

"J-Jungle", Garp stuttered and gritted his teeth. Did his grandson eat a devil fruit that gave him an ability that people normally would call a brain? He grabbed his grandson, walked out of the room and threw Luffy into the sea.

The marines who were watching this couldn't help but be scared.

"Why did he threw this poor little boy into the water?"

The strange scene wasn't over. A huge hole appeared in one of the walls of the ship, but this time it wasn't Garp who was responsible for it. The marines could hear the roar of a dragon and all of them watched at a little guy that walked out of the hole.

"Gible!"

Yes, it was the partner of the poor boy that was thrown out into the sea.

Gible ran towards the water, but because the dragon was clumsy, he fell and rolled like a bowling ball, directly into the water where his master was.

"Hahaha! The little guy is definitely loyal!", Garp was amused by that scene, but the marines respected the dragon's sacrifice.

After Garp realized that his grandson could swim and didn't have the power of a devil fruit, he decided to let them back onto the ship.

After a while, the Monkey Family arrived at a new island. Garp didn't lie when he said that this time he would give him the classic jungle trial. So he threw his grandson and his partner in the middle of the island and said that he would pick them up after six months.

After Luffy landed he couldn't help but sigh. Gible started to respect the old man of his master a little bit.

Luffy took out his Pokédex and looked at which Island he was abandoned.

"So this island is called Sixies. The Pokédex said that it is an island untouched by human society and only wild animals live here. Sixies… This name is familiar."

After he thought for a while, he came to a realization.

"Fuck, this is the Island where Ace found his devil fruit!"

Luffy couldn't help but grin. It seems that he did not only inherit the body of the protagonist, he also got his luck. He would find this devil fruit and take it for himself. He didn't feel guilty that he would steal the fruit of his future brother. First, in this timeline, this fruit belonged to nobody. Only because this fruit landed in Ace hands in a manga that belonged to his previous life didn't mean that he owned the fruit, right?

Besides that, maybe this could change Ace's fate a little bit. Ace was a bit too confident, a side effect that was normal for people with the power of a Logia. In the end, this fruit and confidence lost to Akainu.

Luffy didn't want to eat the fruit himself, but his future crew had a big weakness in his opinion. They didn't have strong devil fruits, so this Logia would make his crew stronger. If you ignore Akainu, then the Fire Logia was one of the strongest fruits in this world. Ace could even fight Aokiji. Maybe this fruit had the potential to beat Akainu because if the user could make a fire that rivaled the heat of a sun, he would be unstoppable. So this fruit was his to take. Ace was a strong dude, he would be strong even without this devil fruit.

And so began the search for the red fruit that was hidden in this jungle. There were many beasts that lived here. Animals that looked like the ones on earth, only a lot bigger and stronger. However, there was nothing that could survive the combination of a Dragon Rage attack and the unstoppable fist from the Monkey Clan. So the next six months was a paradise for Luffy when it comes to grinding.

After half a year passed, the dragon and monkey duo couldn't help but grin. Not only did he have one of the strongest logia in his bag, but Gible also leveled up. He was now level 15 and learned a new attack: Take Down.

[Take Down:

Inflicts regular damage. User takes 1/4 the damage it inflicts in recoil.]

Luffy didn't like that this attack would inflict so much damage to his partner, but he remembered that in the game this attack was really strong. Luffy wondered why there was no information about the damage of the attack like in the games, but he figured that the attacks work a little bit different in this world and that he had to see the attack in action to see the full potential.

Gible wasn't the only one who leveled up. His Trainer Level finally reached level 5, with EXP that were only one good fight away to reach level 6. It was really hard to train the Trainer Level. If the opponents aren't strong enough, then he wouldn't gain EXP in his fights. Gible had the same problem. After the first two months, the duo was just too strong for those oversized animals, so they would gain little EXP. It was like Gible was a level 50 Pokemon in the game who would always fight Pokemon's on Route 1. So not much progress was made.

But when he reached level 5, he finally received the message he waited for.

He could summon a new Pokemon. The good thing was, that he could decide which Pokemon he would take in his team. Luffy couldn't help but laugh. And that was not the only positive thing.

Because his Starter Pokemon didn't have the restriction of his low Trainer Level, he could fight with two Pokemon at the same time.
