13 (Chapter 11) Delivery and Family

{Shima no ryuū: Masamune Weapon's shop}

Masamune huffed as he just finished polishing a sword he was working on.

He soon grabbed its sabered before sheathing the blade, standing up he left his workshop and opened the door to his shop, and walked towards a display case

He slid the glass frame before placing the sword inside as he closed it back up, he sat down on a chair behind the counter and took a piece of paper and an ink pen before closing the cabinet

"Dear Issho I have missed you and your mother deeply, very soon I'll be coming back home, I know I haven't been the best father but my dream will soon become a reality, please take care of your mother, I know her condition has been getting worse so I'll try getting back as fast as I could.

Love dad"

He put his pen down and folded his letter before putting it in an envelope, he went to a nearby window, he soon opened it before whistling in a specific sequence

Soon flaps could be heard as Masamune outstretched his arm, a Falcon soon landed atop his arm

'Hoo little Poki how are you today' he said as he took a tiny mouse out of a cage next to the window

He soon offered the rodent to the Bird before it swallowed it whole, it Shrilled happily.

It soon extended its talon which had a small ring around it, as it did so he attached the envelope to it while humming, 'You can leave now' he said as he patted the bird

The bird soon flew leaving a trail of feathers, Masamune chuckled to himself as he closed the window and left to wash his hands from the rodent's fur

As he turned on the sink he heard his front door's bell ring, he turned around to see his friend and the boy right next to him

'Ho? Back so soon I didn't expect you to return so quickly, I would have prepared some tea if so' he said as he turned off the sink before taking a towel and rubbing his hand

'We couldn't stay for long, It's a good thing we went, as there was a meeting going on when we got there' said Minamoto as the door closed behind him

'Good to see you again Masamune-san' said Ryu as he looked around and saw the cutlass that he was eying when he last was here

He soon grabbed the parcel that hang on his back before handing it to Masamune, The man smiled as he took the offered parcel and placed it on the counter

'Thank you Ryu-chan' he said as he patted his head fondly, How about I give you this as a prize

As soon as he said this he walked towards the aforementioned weapon and slid its glass frame before taking the weapon out

'How about I teach you how to take care of a blade' he said as he sheathed the blade, it was a bit rusted as it wasn't taken care of for a while

Ryu just smiled as he followed him, he soon took out a jar filled with some oil and showed it to Ryu

A few minutes go by as Minamoto shows Ryu how to oil and sharpen his blade as he talked with Minamoto

Soon after giving his lessons, Minamoto decides to take their leave, 'It's getting pretty late Masamune-kun we must be on our way'

Ryu smiled as he stood up and followed his grandfather to the door, 'Before you go' said Masamune as he went to a cabinet behind his counter

He took out a Wrapped parcel and took the cutlass that he and Ryu Maintained a few moments ago and walked towards them

'Please take these' he said, as he offered them to Ryu, 'The parcel contains the equipment we just used, while the sword is your prize'

'Are you sure Masamune-san? This sword must cost a lot' he said

'Hohoho, what a sweet child, This sword is just gathering dust at this point since not many samurai use a cutlass in the first place' he said

Ryu bowed before accepting Masamunes offer 'Thank you very much masamune-san' He said as he smiled gently

'Hohoho, you welcome my boy' As he patted the young fellow's head, Minamoto bowed before smiling

'thank you Masamune-san' he said before leaving Ryu right behind him.

The old man just chuckled as the door closed, "The little one reminds me so much of Issho' as he went back to his workshop

A few hours later They Arrive at their estate, Ryu just sighs as he rubs the part of his stomach where he was hit by Daichi

'Are you hungry Ryu-chan' Asked Minamoto as he opened the door of their home,

"Now that Jiji mentions it I haven't eaten anything other than breakfast" he thought to himself before nodding to his grandfather

'haha, Hopefully, your mother made us something nice, as that run probably took a lot out of you' he said as he patted his head

Ryu just pouted as he followed his grandfather inside, they soon heard laughter coming from one of the living rooms

A few moments later they opened the sliding door and walked in to see Hisho and another blonde lady sitting across from her as a toddler sat on her lap

'Oto-san!' Said the lady as she stood up and went to hug the old man, she soon wrapped her arms around him as he hugged her back

'Oh Rika what a lovely surprise' He said as he kissed the top of her head, Ryu stood there confused as he saw the lady

'This must be Ryu' she said as she wrapped him in a hug, She was a short woman and had sun-kissed blonde hair unlike her sister and wore a dark kimono that had flower designs on it

The toddler soon crawled towards them as he tugged on Ryu's kimono 'Ni-chan' he said as Rika slumped a bit

'Those were his first words' she muttered as she ran circles with her finger,

Minamoto's eyes widened in happiness as he took the child in his arms, This must be my grandson as he spun him in the air

Rika stood back up and smiled 'Sorry we didn't inform you, Akira-chan couldn't show up since he had business with Kyoku-sama' she said as she took the child from arm's

The child giggled as he was carried by his mother

'Do what's the name of my grandson' Minamoto asked, while Ryu stood there with a wide smile looking towards his cousin

"Wow I never thought Ka-san had a sister never the less a child" he thought and looked towards the baby boy

"He also called me nii-chan" he thought to himself as his smile softened,

'Oh I didn't introduce you' she said as the baby giggled in her arms

'His name is... Marco'
