5 Feared Commander

It was the second day, I felt tired, but I still pushed my self up.

My fears going back to earth did not come true. I was a bit happy because I did not know what happened to my body after a car accident.

Who would want to be in a body that probably is disabled for rest of life?

Not me, I know it's not nice to think about it and point your finger at people with a physical or disabled body. But I am sure that everyone agrees with me.

Only thing I so far miss is mirror and chance to wash. But I remembered water bucket in the wooden tower, which made hope that I can see my reflection from there.

After putting my upper armor on, knives in knife pocket. And taking my sword from sword holder, we moved on, this time I remembered where I put it. Same with my upper armor and knives.

While we were moving through corridors, James told me: There is a big chance that the commander moves around, let's try to avoid him.

I nodded.

Today when moving through corridors I looked around and saw that almost nobody was guarding anything here.

I wished that I had more courage to ask from James.

There were many things I wanted to know, but I keep quiet about it.

I hoped to learn more while following James around.

Recalling previous Chris memories was also an option, but I didn't prefer it. Because when I fell asleep last time, the memories I saw in my dream, weren't very detailed.

Soon we got out of Castle. It was an old castle. Surrounded by a large field and walls.

The wall facing Lost Blood Fields was longer and went beyond what I could see.

And below the wall, near stairs I could still see rows of huts, I could guess that people were sleeping there because the castle was far or full.

I thought the arrangement was bad, but I am not the one to judge.

When we arrived near the stairs with James, we started going up on the wall.

It was the 14th day. And on the 15th we will go scouting.

When we arrived up on the wall, James softly spoke: I can see the commander, coming in the first tower, let's pass him when he is in the tower.

I looked and saw him as well. He was above 80 years old. That's what I guessed from his look. He had blue hair and eyes.

Behind him, I saw six lackeys, that were mentioned by the rest.

They were all fell feed, clean and following commander. As much I have deduced from hints in from others, they were all sleeping with the commander.

I wanted to puke on that thought.

When went into the tower, we rushed past the tower.

A bit later we arrived at our tower, James knocked on the door, and we were greeted by Ains again.

He told us: We lucked that we ate all the food we had yesterday, they were searching for food.

Evets who was sitting inside, next to table, told us: Not only were they searching for food, we learned some interesting news as well.

Ains nodded at that.

James asked: What's going on then?

Ains pushed us to sit and told us: We will not be the only group who will go scouting tomorrow. Mesla who will guide us told us that food shortage pushed commander to sent more groups to find food.

Events: That's why Commander did early walk through castle, walls, and huts.

Ains: And he even sent people to look further away at towers. So far we learned that most people who were guarding the towers were dead, or tried to escape. But everyone knows that we have slave soldier seal on us.

James: I know that we can't run. The only way here is to die or wait until someone needs soldiers.

Ains: King fight with other kingdom is still going on, so we may have a chance, but if the fight ends, I will probably go to Lost Blood Lands for last time.

James and Evets noded seems they agreed with Ains.

Ains looked at me and asked: What about you?

I answered: I go with the flow, but I hope to escape.

Ains: Escaping would be the best. Anyway, the commander is the only Tier 1 warrior here, and he doesn't have many years left, but still thirty to fifty. But it's too much for us.

James: Can't count on it. Killing him is even more impossible.

Evets: Yes, his lackeys are well trained. And we are only starting stage mid-tier warriors. The worst part is they are still better feed than us.

Ains: Nothing we can do about it, anyway tomorrow we will go scouting. So rest well, it's not like there is any point staying in this tower, we don't even have bows. We are here only to light up a fire if we spot anything.

We all nodded, and I finally realized that we were guarding tower to light a fire.

I did realize now that I don't even have a bow, I can only look. Throwing knives was an option but, I wasn't good at it, even though on earth I did practice at Karate camp it. I was lucky to go to that camp. Since my foster father grandfather paid for it, and it was even near the sea. It was my happiest time.

But It was the only summer camp I went in my life. Because I didn't have money for more, and grandfather was not that well off as well, he was old.

But I liked spending my time with him, and I was every summer at his place.

But he didn't live long and passed away a month after my 17th birthday.

After that, I had only my friends and a dog. I did have few Aunts and foster grandparents, but they didn't treat me well, and I didn't know anything about my mother and father grandparents.
