He frowned his brows creased. "How dare I not! and for your information she's not just any woman, I love her. When will you understand that she's the woman that I am in love with? I hate for you to think that because we are set to marry that you can tie me down and claim faithfulness to a marriage I don't even want. I will never love you and this marriage here is a contract and it will never be anything more than that. There is no love and no obligations. My company is marrying yours and that's it. Please get this into your head already Amara!" Adrian spat.

Amara's eyes pricked with unshed tears, Her heart sunk with hurt. She couldn't believe the words that were coming out of Adrian's pink kissable lips. The lips she wanted did nothing more than to utter hurtful words to her every time they met. She wasn't sure she could take it anymore.

Why did he have to Speak to her like that when he knew more than anyone that although she loved him she was also trapped in this marriage the same way he was because they both wanted the same thing, to make their companies stronger by merging it.

What better way to beat of competition than for the rivals of the two companies in the front line coming together as one in other to beat the others behind. At least that's what her father told her that night when he gave her the news and that must have been what his told him. So why did he see her as the enemy when she was also a victim just like him.

"You hurt me and disrespect me and then you cheat also. What other stunt are you going to pull?" Amara asked crying softly. She wiped her cheeks with the back of her palm, "How can you be so cruel."

"Ok stop acting like the victim. I know that you were the one who caused this deal to happen in the first place even when you knew that I was in love with someone else." Adrian scoffed rolling his eyes. "Just stop the act because it sure as hell doesn't fit you."

"You think I want to marry you! Well I don't and this is the final stunt you pull on me because I'm done taking bullshit like this from you when we are not even married!" She yelled hitting his chest as she cried. Her heart constricted in her chest. The pain wouldn't just go away and hitting and yelling ar him wasn't helping her either. It only succeeded in making her weaker. From the corner of her eyes she could see Ciara smirk at her.

"Then break the engagement then. You know he doesn't love you so stop forcing yourself on him because he loves me and he wants me." Ciara stated moving to back Adrian up. She stood in front of him her hands folded.

Amara was alone and hurt with no one by her side. She couldn't believe all that was happening in front of her. She shook watching them take the defense against her for something they were supposed to be apologizing for. She had never felt as much pain in her life as she felt in that moment.

Until michael suddenly came in.

"Your secretary isn't around." Michael was saying when he walked in to meet the scene. When he stepped into the office he took cognizance of the three people in front of him. He became confused and curious. Ciara immediately backed away from Amara and started to cry but Michael was not going to buy her act for even a second. He knew just how cunning the woman was and he was more than elated when his father arranged a marriage for Adrian."What are you doing here Ciara?" He asked walking further into the office.

Amara watched him with a throbbing heart as he walked into the office and took his stand behind her. She felt a little relieved but it didn't take away the hurt she felt.

"Michael what are you doing here?" Adrian asked gaping at him.

"We do have somewhere to go tonight have you forgotten?"

"Oh! That." Was all Adrian could mutter. He pressed his finger's in his eyes remembering what he promised his brother this morning. He couldn't believe that he actually forgot.

"Yes, oh!" Michael scoffed mockingly.

Watching the both of them speak gave Amara the time she needed to calm her nerves down. She could not give anyone the satisfaction of seeing her break.

"You know what I'm leaving."

"Yea you should go and never_"

"Adrian! You'll not speak to her in that manner." Michael cut his brother off from speaking with a cold glare.

Amara then faced Micheal and smiled to him gratefully. Tears started to prick her eyes once more."Maybe this arranged marriage should have been between the both of us and not me and him. I'm tired of his bullshit." She ran her hand through her hair in frustration. "You know what I still find it hard to believe that you both are brothers." With that she walked out.

Immediately she left there was silence except from the occasional sniffing that came from Ciara. Michael glanced at Ciara who was still crying by his brothers side and frowned. "You should go too you know."

"Michael."

"Adrian we have somewhere to go and or else you've changed your mind then we better get going. I'll leave you two." He eyed Ciara. "And you should stop with the tears. I didn't buy it when I walked in here and I sure as hell won't buy it now."
