The Day of School (Hell)

The day I have been dreading, but slightly excited for has arrived: School.

During the previous day I had been getting used to my new body... NOT IN THAT WAY! Y-Y-YOU BAKA! Sorry about that, I just felt like I needed to say it. Anyway, I can now safely say there will be no accidents of any kind I can assure you.

Along with that, I sat on my bed curled up in my sheets staring at the piece of paper with Serena's number on it. I still hadn't put it in my phone yet, after what she pulled yesterday I don't think I really want to talk to her. Despite that, I built up the courage and messaged her. 'Hey! It's Marin. Let's be good friends^-^' Not even a second later... 'Yes.' It creeped me out to the bone. Either she had a bot installed to answer immediately or she had been stalking her phone for hours. 'I'll be starting at New Hope tomorrow, I'd appreciate it if you could show me around.' As expected I received a reply in record time. 'Of course, it would be no problem.' Formal, like always.

Later in the day I decided to have proper look at my wardrobe. Along with the many spectacular garments, there was also a collection of cosplay outfits. All of them were from the original series. My favourite being the Black Lobelia cosplay. I don't exactly know when I would wear these, besides at a convention. Perhaps I should write it in my To-Do-List...

Fast forward to the present and my heart is pumping, a mixture of fear and also happiness. No matter what, I can't waste this chance to change my life for the better. As many say, school is the gateway to countless paths that lead towards the future, it's up to you to decide which one to take. Sorry for the useless life lesson, I just feel like it's true as well. I still have mixed feelings about it, like every teenager does.

My mum offered to take me to school, but I insisted that it would be better if I walked. It will allow me to calm myself and the hell will only start a little later than if you were to drive. That's why I like staying awake for so long at night, though it only delays the inevitable. I hugged my mum goodbye and vacated the house.

- 5 Minutes Later -

The walk had been quite soothing so far, even with the lingering sense of something not being right. It was all the same. The same parents walking their kids to the primary school nearby, the same man riding his bike to work. It was good that it was the same, but it hurt nonetheless. Why did I have to change and nothing else?

Putting it to back of my mind I arrived at the traffic lights along the main road. A few kids from a nearby secondary school were messing around on the other side, I had assumed they had pushed the button so I waited for a while. It turns out they hadn't, jeez these stupid kids. I turned to the side to push the button, when I felt my hand touch something else. It was a girl's hand, I fully turned to face her. She had long pitch black hair, that looked to be dyed. Smooth red eyes. Along with the new and improved uniform she had black tights to cover her legs. Standing at a similar height to me. Her name's Lia.

She is not a vampire, even if that is what she looks like. She is just a full on weeb. How do I know? Well she used to be one of my other friends. We hit it off due to the fact that we both like anime. She would be quite popular if you judge her based on looks alone, but her very and I mean VERY outspoken personality when it comes to anime just seems to push them away. Thinking about it now.. she would be a very good person to go to a convention with.

"Oh sorry I didn't mean to touch you, I didn't know there was someone about to push the button as well." I quickly apologised. She stared at me for a while, did I offend her somehow? "Hmm.." She held her hand in front of her mouth and began to inspect every part of me. Almost as she was a detective, inspecting a crime scene. "Has anyone told you that you look like an anime character?".... what?

As far as I'm aware, My Dress Up Darling doesn't exist in this reality. If it did exist it would easily blow my cover. I definitely won't be able to hide from Lia, if that was the case. She continued, "The soft and elegant blonde hair, the shiny pink eyes, a mind-provoking body. You clearly shouldn't exist in a world as basic as this." As flattered as I was, it really hit deep in my soul upon hearing "shouldn't exist." She's right I shouldn't be in this world, but now that I am I have no choice but to live in it.

"Uhh.. no one has, but thank you for thinking so highly of me. My name is Marin by the way, it's my first day here. I hope we can be friends." Upon hearing that she smiled. "Yeah, my name is Lia. I'll allow you to be my nakama from now on."

The light finally turned red, which allowed us to cross over. The rest of the way we talked about many things, mostly anime, but we both had a good time. She offered to take me on a tour, but I apologised and mentioned that I already had someone to do that. She didn't take it as I expected her to, "B-B-Bakamonogaaaa!" Excuse me... was that a JoJo reference? I couldn't hold in my laughter and she got even more frustrated. We went back and forth, Lia getting even more frustrated as time went by.

Once we finally arrived we had to part ways as I did had to go to the main office to find out which class I was in. We both gave each other our numbers when we split.

- Class 11P -

After receiving all the information I needed I was guided to the form 10P. These are what we would call homeroom. The numbers signify the year group and the letter is the class. There are 7 of these forms : N,E,W,H,O,P,E2. Yes, they are from the school's name, they clearly lack creativity don't they (A/N: SO DO I!).

My form teacher told me to wait outside while she relays the news to the class. Normally in an anime you would expect the girls to wish it was a boy and vice versa, but I could hear inside. When hearing the news, they didn't care a single bit. I did realise that in my old life, the news of a new student did turn a couple heads, but they forgot about it the next day (most people).

"Marin you can come in now." I followed her instructions, taking a deep breath I opened the door and revealed myself to the people inside. I glanced over each and every person in the room, they were all either acquaintances of my old self or people I didn't really talk to. There was one boy who sat in the corner, I knew who he was immediately. It was Joe.

Joe was a great friend of mine. At first I didn't really like him, as he was quite over the top and annoying. After learning that he had ADHD I did feel kind of bad for him. When I fell out with my old best friend he was one of the only ones, along with Serena and Lia who wanted to talk with me. We always had sophisticated conversations about the happenings of the world.

The teacher requested that I introduced myself. In normal anime fashion, "Hey there. My name is Marin, let's get along." Contrary to before, I did hear a couple whispers from them, such as "Wow, she's so pretty.", "She must have used a lot of makeup." These were mostly from the girls. Speaking of makeup, I noticed yesterday that this look is all natural. If they heard that, jealousy would certainly ensue.

A few of the boys on the other hand... they felt a little lustful. Whispering things like, "Sheesh! She's fit." or "She's better looking than most of the girls in this school." As expected from Joe, he didn't really seem to care and that's why I'm glad he was my friend.

"Marin, go and take a seat next to Joe. It's the only space available." The teacher explained. I'm glad the power of anime is on my side and sat me next to the only person I know wouldn't be my friend purely on looks alone.

I walked past everyone and made it to the back of the class. I took a seat next to the indifferent Joe. His short hair was a pale blond colour, if it was any brighter it would end up being white. He had aqua blue eyes. He's not a stud nor is he ugly, he truly encompassed the meaning of average. The only thing that wasn't average was his height and his random personality. Standing at about 6 feet and 1 inch he was taller than most of the people in the class. As I mentioned, his ADHD can be quite complicated for him. Depending on if he has taken his meds will decide how he behaves.

I decided to break the ice between and introduced myself again. " I know I've already introduced myself, but my name is Marin. What's your name?" He simply turned around and replied with "It's Joe." If you don't talk about something interesting he isn't a man of many words. I had just the right thing to ask him about. "What do you think of Elon being the largest shareholder in Twitter?" Almost like I had pressed a switch he got rather excited. We rambled on for the rest of form talking about Elon and his usual shenanigans.

- 2nd Period -

1st period was normal, I was introduced to the class and I got placed in a decent seat next to someone I had no problem with, lucky me. That luck was quickly destroyed in 2nd Period. Why? Well in most of these classes the desks only fit two people, so whoever you sit next to can make or break your experience in the class. The one I had been placed next to, was my arch nemesis.

Her name's May. She's quite small, standing at 4 foot 9. Medium length brown hair that grew long over the front of her face. It was as if she had a bush over her head as camouflage or something, I always wondered whether she could even see. It's impossible to see her eyes and I can't even remember what they colour they were.

If you are wondering why we fell out, well it is for quite the stupid reason. Even though we were best friends from the age of three, we always fall out or have an argument. Want to know who always has to apologise? It's me. Even if it wasn't my fault I would apologise just so we could still be friends. I was definitely such a push over back then.

When I tried to introduce myself to her, she ignored me. Just like she always does. Grinding my teeth as I spoke. "Alright then if you don't want to talk then suit yourself."

50 minutes of boring maths had just finished and the bell signifying the time for break had just rung. I got up as fast as I could towards the exit, as soon as I left the room I felt a hand grab my shoulder. It was Serena. "Do you still want me to give you a tour?" I really could of said no, as I already know the place like the back of my hand, but I didn't want to break the promise. Before I could answer I heard someone shout from the other side of the corridor.

"OI KONO YARO! DON'T GO WITHOUT ME!" Lia ran towards us in a fit of rage, sounds like she's a little jealous. I glanced toward Serena and she didn't seem too bothered, another person made themselves known. "Mind if I come to?" Joe also wanted to come along as well. "Of course, the both of you can come with us." It reminded me of why I'm so grateful to them, they truly are my friends..

A/N: Woohoo! The power of friendship! I'll be posting another chapter tomorrow. There won't be anything for a couple of days as I am quite busy on Wednesday and I'll be doing chapter 3 of THPT on Thursday. So the next one after that will either be on Friday or Saturday depending on how I feel. Anyway thank you for the support.
