10 Hero Examination

At Saitama's apartment,

*Creak*

The door opened and Kenji entered the room.

"You're finally here." Saitama looked at Kenji walking towards them. He was sitting on the floor and his finger interlocked as he was thinking about something serious.

"Welcome back, Kenji-sensei!" Genos was also sitting on the floor with Saitama.

*Creak*

The door opened and a slim man entered the apartment.

"Ugh, My head hurts..." A voice echoed through the room. Sonic recalled Kenji beating him into pulp. Who is he to be this strong?

When Genos heard that voice, he immediately reacted and flashed infront of Sonic with his hand out, ready to fire at any moment.

At the same time, Sonic unsheathed the katana on his back and slashed it to the side of Genos' neck at breakneck speed.

Sonic stopped his katana 1 inch away from cutting Genos' head off.

"Woah! Woah! Chill!" Kenji exclaimed while he sat beside Saitama.

He looked at Sonic and Genos glaring at each other on the entrance.

Do they have a grudge against each other? What the hell?

"Who are you? Aren't you going to attack? If Teacher wasn't looking, your head will be sent flying by now." Sonic glared at Genos while he gripped his katana tightly.

He was beaten into submission by Kenji earlier and he is now his disciple.

"That's my question. State your business with my masters, if you don't want to be incinerated." Genos' hands were glowing and ready to fire.

"Oi! You two! Calm down! Stop that! Your being rude to the owner of this apartment!" Kenji scolded the two while he looked at Saitama who is wearing a serious face. What's wrong with him today?

The two put down their weapon/hand when they heard Kenji.

They were still glaring at each other while making there way in the living room and sat down on the floor.

"Okay, let me introduce the both of you to each other." Kenji looked at the two who was cautiously looking at each other.

"This is Genos, our first disciple and this is Sonic, I took him in and now he's my second disciple." Kenji introduced them to each other. The two's eyes widened as they looked at Kenji in disbelief.

"Kenji-sensei, Is it true that you took this creep in?" Genos was surprised that this creep was actually Kenji's second disciple.

He don't know what to say. Saitama-sensei talked about him earlier.

Plus, to be personally picked up by Kenji-sensei... He knew this creep is strong.

"What?! This life size toaster is actually your disciple?" Sonic was also surprised and looked at the cyborg in front of him.

Was he also beaten to submission just like me?

"Okay, now that's done. Saitama, what's wrong with you? Why do you look so depressed?" Kenji looked at his bald friend wondering what's wrong with him. Did something happen to him?

The two disciples looked nervously at Saitama who looked very serious.

Silence was on the air, they waited for Saitama to speak.

Sonic was wondering how this bald man can see him in his top speed.

Other than his teacher, no one has ever seen him move at high speeds and dodged.

He was slightly curious about this bald man in front of him.

Genos was looking at Saitama intently, he also wore a serious expression and was waiting for his Master to speak.

Kenji was looking at his bald friend wondering what's on his mind.

Did he miss a sale today? Did he meet a strong monster and was defeated? (which is impossible) Or.... Is it a woman?

Kenji recalled his encounter with Tatsumaki.

He was wondering what she is doing right now. She might be still mad at me calling her midget...

But he can't help it, her angry face is so cute.

The silence was broken when Saitama spoke,

"I'm now aware of a serious problem and am reeling from shock." Saitama was sweating buckets and he could be seen trembling.

To see him sweating like crazy... Did the demons from the Dark Continent finally started to move? Kenji thought.

If that's the case then the whole world will turn into a bloody battlefield.

Genos saw the trembling Saitama and realized that this matter is super serious.

He was listening closely to what he was saying.

What could be the cause to make someone as great as him tremble?

Sonic also curiously looked at Saitama.

He didn't realize that he was the reason for all this drama...

The silence continued, three people looked at the bald man with different emotions.

Saitama started to continue what he was saying and scanned the three people in front of him.

He noticed a man that he didn't know at the side. He looked at Kenji.

"Who's this?" Saitama asked Kenji while he looked at the man beside Kenji.

"Wha- I'm the ninja you fought earlier!" Sonic yelled at Saitama. To forget his rival so easily...

"That's not the important thing here! Continue with what you're saying!" Kenji looked at the bald man in front of him and scolded him.

"It is important, Dumbass! You invited someone to my home without permission! What if he's suspicious and robbed my house!." Saitama slapped Kenji's face with facts.

The two of them went silent for a couple of seconds before Kenji apologized.

"My bad... So what you are saying?" Kenji was getting tired of all the suspense and he want Saitama to spit it out already.

"No one knows who I am." Saitama let out a sigh and told them his problem.

"It's been three years since I first became a hero. I've defeated countless monsters and evil organizations during the span of 3 years."

"I've never heard of any other heroes except Kenji doing as much as me. Everyone in the world should know me by now! Isn't it weird that I don't have any fans or anything?!"

"You know what that man said to me earlier? Never heard of you. And the sad thing is everyone in the neighborhood for a terrorist!"

Saitama ranted out his problem to the three men in front of him.

Kenji was this close to beating Saitama up.

I thought something serious happened you freakin' dumbass! What do you expect? We were beating up monsters so fast that the civilians didn't even know what happened!

There were some who saw us but they didn't even know who we are!

Genos was shocked. How can this be! But Saitama-sensei is right...

The news report did not mention Master Saitama or this creep beside me.

Instead, all the credit for defeating the Paradisers went to a hero called Mumen Rider.

Did they really think that weak man slaughtered all the Paradisers?

And I also heard that he was sent to the hospital when Hammerhead punched him.

Sonic was confused in what's happening.

Is he talking about me? I told him that because it's the truth!

"Wait... Saitama-sensei! Are you listed with the Hero Registry?" Genos exclaimed and asked Saitama.

Kenji and Saitama were both confused. Hero Registry? What's that? Can you eat it?

"You need to take a test before you can be deemed as a hero. If you score better than the cut-off, you will be registered in the Hero Registry."

"Once you are recognized by the Association, you are be considered a pro and will get paid."

"Self-proclaimed heroes are just weirdos spouting nonsense viewed with suspicion." Sonic supplied them with information regarding to the matter at hand.

Kenji and Saitama felt personally attacked when they heard Sonic's last sentence.

They looked at each other and awkwardly scratched their heads.

They had no idea something like that existed.

"How did you know that kind of information?" Kenji asked Sonic on how he knows about it.

"I've been taking on jobs so that I can make money, like being a bodyguard or to assassinate someone ever since I exited my village."

"My employers always talk about the Hero Association and also about how they profited from them and their heroes. So I heard a bit of information from them."

"I despise those so called 'heroes', naming themselves 'heroes' even though they're corrupt. All those 'heroes' only want fame and money."

"They only beat up monsters because they are tasked to by the Association. " Sonic replied to Kenji and talked about how he despise them.

"Yo chill man! We're heroes too alright? Not everyone is like that." Kenji exclaimed and talked it out with Sonic on how there are really True Heroes out there in the world.

"Are there anyone here registered?" Saitama looked at them and asked.

"No. I feel no need to, Saitama-sensei." Genos replied.

"Why would I join those so called heroes?" Sonic grumbled.

"Let's register then!" Kenji exclaimed and looked at the three of them.

"Let's go!" Saitama shouted.

"There's an examination tomorrow morning at the local branch." Genos joined in the fun.

"I'm not going to join them!" Sonic yelled. He doesn't really want to be a hero anyway.

"If we're going, you're going to Sonic~" Kenji smiled at Sonic.

Sonic shuddered when he saw Kenji's smile, he immediately rephrased what he said.

"I'll join! I'll join!"

"That's good then, let's meet tomorrow morning at the entrance. See ya!"

Kenji yelled and the group immediately dispersed, leaving Saitama in his alone in his apartment.

The next day, early in the morning, City A - Hero Association HQ,

"11,686, are the total of candidates in this exam at six different venues. That is an increase of more than 22% over the previous exam."

A female executive with beautiful black hair that falls over her shoulders, she has black eyes and was wearing a black suit.

"Even though it's a large number. If the quality of the heroes is reduced, the numbers are meaningless." A fat executive replied to the female executive.

"There's also two persons of interest taking the exam this time." The fat man looked at the executives.

"Yes, It hasn't been confirmed yet, but it seem very likely that they will." The bearded man replied to the fat executive while holding Kenji and Genos' file.

At the same time, In a high rise building were S-Class heroes live.

Tatsumaki was talking to someone on her phone.

"He's going to take the exam? That's good then." Tatsumaki lazily answered the phone.

She was wearing green pajamas that goes with her hair and there were kitten patterns on it, she was also wearing pink fluffy flip flops.

"WHA- WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! I MEANT IT'S GOOD FOR THE ASSOCIATION TO HAVE HIM! GEEZ!" Tatsumaki blushed.

She hanged up the phone and flopped in a king sized bed.

She was staring at her ceiling while wondering if Kenji did good on the exam.

"Why am I always thinking about him?" Tatsumaki hugged her pillow and buried her face in it.

"Baka. (Idiot)" Tatsumaki cutely muttered, her cheeks all the way to her neck has a tint of pink.

At the Hero Examination entrance,

"Alright, I'm in Venue E, I'll be going now." Kenji said goodbye to his friend and disciples.

"I'm in Venue B. Good luck, Masters!" Genos bowed to Kenji and Saitama and walked to his assigned venue.

Sonic looked at his paper and 'Venue D' was written on it. He then bowed to Kenji and silently walked away.

"Guess, i'll go to." Saitama looked at the three men walking away. He was assigned to Venue F and also walked away."

At Venue E, Physical Examination,

Kenji could be seen wearing black colored skin tight briefs, his rock hard muscles and 6 pack abs could be seen on his pale skin.

His first physical test was weightlifting, he went to his spot which was on the bottom left corner.

"Oh?, what's a pretty boy doing in here?" Kenji heard a voice beside and a 6-feet tall muscular man came into his view.

The muscular man looked at Kenji and sneered at him.

"Quit trash talking if you don't want to get your ass beat." Kenji didn't even look at him and calmly cursed at him.

"You! We'll see..." The muscular man walked towards the 250 kg barbell.

He then successfully lifted it. The examiner wrote down his performance on a sheet of paper.

The muscular man looked at Kenji and sneered.

Kenji was getting irritated at this fellow.

A way to make him shut up... Lifting the barbell normally won't do.

'Ah! That's it!' Kenji thought of something fun.

Kenji walked over to the 500 kg barbell and stood in front of it.

"Can you even lift tha-" The man mocked him, but he soon was frightened and fell on his butt on what Kenji did.

Kenji casually picked up the barbell with his feet and raised it over his head.

He lifted the 500 kg barbell with his feet like it was nothing!

The man was shocked and he then ran away from the weightlifting section.

The examiner answered a phone call, he was nodding his head over and over again.

He then hanged up the phone and walked to Kenji.

"Sir, The exams are useless for you. Can you please follow me to meet the executives?" The examiner kindly asked him.

Kenji followed him as they exited the venue.

At Venue D, Physical Examination,

Sonic could be seen lazily doing a horse stance. He was currently doing the 1500-meter run.

*BANG*

The signal echoed through the venue, the examinees started running.

Sonic kicked the ground and he disappeared.

The examiner in the finish line didn't even see where Sonic disappeared. He heard a voice beside him.

"Oi, I'm done." Sonic glared at the examiner and grumbled.

He doesn't want to do all this but since his teacher told him then... He can only oblige.

The examiner was surprised with his speed.

He dialed a number and called.

He reported Sonic's achievement and hanged up the phone.

"U-Uh S-Sir? Can you please follow me to the meet the e-executives?" The examiner trembled under Sonic's cold glare.

"Yeah, whatever." The examiner then lead the way and the both of them exited the venue.

At Venue F, Physical Examination, 5 minutes later,

Saitama had just finished doing his physical exam when he was called out by an examiner.

"Sir, can you kindly follow us to the executive's office? There are people waiting for you there."

Saitama was confused at first, but he then he accepted the examiners request and followed him to the office.

They arrived outside a door where a sign was placed on the door. The sign says 'Office of the Executives'.

The examiner opened the door and Saitama entered the room.

He saw three men sitting before the executives. He was surprised that they were all there.

"Yo! You came!"

"Saitama-sensei! please have a seat!"

"..."

An examiner placed a seat for Saitama to take a seat with.

Saitama thanked the examiner and sat beside Kenji.

"Why are we here?" Saitama looked at Kenji, he doesn't know what going on at the moment.

One of the executives looked at the screen beside him and voiced out what's in his mind.

"Is ii true that the three of you did this?" A gigantic hole where no one know how deep it is appeared on the screen.

"Yeah, we did." Saitama replied with a deadpan expression.

"We were lucky that we arrived in time right?" Kenji looked at Genos and Saitama.

"I agree, I am terribly sorry for making Kenji-sensei and Saitama-sensei wait for me." Genos replied.

He still too weak to stand beside his masters.

The executives looked at each other and nodded to each other.

They then picked up a stamp that says' certified S-Class and stamped the four files.

(They already know that Sonic is equal to an S-Class hero. Even though he didn't do something like that.)

They were told that they passed the exam and were free to go home.

Kenji and the others then left the room and went to Saitama's apartment to celebrate.

At the executive office,

The executives were talking to each other.

They were happy that in just one exam they found 4 S-Class heroes.

"This must be a gift from God." An executive jumped in joy.

4 S-Class heroes were added to the Hero Associatio, how can they not be happy?.

"Who do you think is the strongest from the four?" A female executive asked the other executives

"It has to be that cyborg! His destructive power was insane!" A slim executive yelled and explain why he was the strongest.

"No, you're mistaken. It has to be that ninja, even though he didn't talk I can feel pressure coming out from him! Plus, He's as fast as Flashy Flash!" An executive with a bob-cut exclaimed.

He received a report that Sonic finished the 1500-meter run with 2 laps in 3 seconds!

"Did you see Venue F's physical examination? That bald guy was a monster! He looks like your average joe!"

"We wouldn't even notice him if that guy with purple eyes didn't mention it." The glasses man replied.

He recalled Saitama's deadpan expression.

"No, I think it's that man named Kenji."

"We received a report from Rank 2 S-Class Hero, Tornado of Terror that he killed 2 Disaster Level Dragon monsters in a matter of seconds." The bearded man replied.

The executives were silent. They agreed with him since they also heard about that news.

When they first heard the news, they were so shocked that their mouths can fit a whole egg.

"Kenji... What a fearsome guy."

The bearded man whispered to himself and left the office together with the other executives.
