57 New world.

Kroft happily let loose his zombies to loot and destroy. It wasn't all chaos though as on the other end he was killing off bandits and murderers who made a living off killing and robbing people to replenish his human body stores. He was also able to buy bodies off of me as apparently I could get a corpse from the shop for like 10 gold. I charged him 100 gold though so I'd make a little profit.

To help pay for bodies some of his zombies took jobs as knights and guards to make enough money in this time of need.

He wasn't allowed to murder innocent people. So he took it as a challenge to see how much havoc he could cause while not killing people. He did end up beating the shit out of the heroes a few times and made up some evil monolog to spout as he robbed them of their precious gear to sell to me.

Finders keepers.

He was having a blast and crime for the kingdoms dropped to an all time low.

Tia wasn't too happy until I told her everyone would think she was a fool for summoning heroes for a false alarm. Plus it's not like Kroft was doing any harm besides burning and looting some cities.

Mostly it was all the dirt bag nobles he robbed and burned down houses for so it was okay.

"So what world are you wanting to go to next?" Cassie asks me hugging me from behind.

"Hmm how about you pick for me maybe something with a bit of excitement though and good loot." I tell her with a smile.

She thinks for a moment before suddenly I feel like I'm flying off my feet and I'm surrounded by white light.

After a minute my feet slam into ground and the light dissapears.

"Hey you! Put your hand on the plinth." I hear someone shout and military training kicks in and I reach my hand out to the stone in front of me. If you didn't follow orders in the military you were punished harshly.

As soon as my hand touches the plinth another blinding light shoots out from it into the sky under the shocked gazes of everyone there.

I hear some shocked gasps and whispers of "Heavenly root!" before I finally take notice of the people all around me.

They are all wearing strange robes and look like martial artists. I see some wearing pouches and carrying all kinds of weapons.

I ask someone near me really fast.

"Uh quick question where am i?" I ask the gobsmacked man.

"Disciple recruitment for the Mystical Heavens Sect." He replies dumbly.

"Oh." I quickly try to make my escape.

I was too slow.

Flying in the air was a old man wearing some purple robes. "Who was it with the heavenly roots!" He says quickly pulling what looks like a disciple towards him with some kind of force.

The young man quickly points towards me who was trying to stealthily leave.

Before I know what's happening the old man is already in front of me.

"Your the one with heavenly roots?" He asks me with both curiosity and excitment.

"Nope." I say trying to slip past him.

The old man gives me a confused look before looking at the other disciples. "It really was him sect master." They all betray me for no reason. Bastards.

With another woosh the old man is in front of me again.

Before I know what's happening I'm in front of the plinth with my hand on it as it fires off a light beam into the sky.

The old man looks at the beam in glee.

"It's been hundreds of years since a heavenly root has been seen and they are going to be a disciple of my mystical heavens sect." He laughs happily.

"Boy become my disciple and I'll lead you on the path to greatness." He says looking at me proudly as he radiates power.

"I Reject." I say before quickly running away.

The sect leader seems to be dazed for a moment before reappearing in front of me once more as I just sigh and rub my forhead.

"Do you know who I am boy?" He asks me seriously.

"Nope." I tell him.

"I'm the sect master of the mystical heavens sect. The strongest person in the land." he brags.

"Neat can you tell me where the nearest village is?" I ask him.

"Sure it's about fifteen miles that... wait a minute." sadly he catches himself before I can find out.

"Why are you trying to leave so much? Don't you want to be a cultivator?" He asks me in confusion.

"Dude I don't even know what heavenly roots are I can probably make an educated guess but in all honesty I don't even know where i am." I explain.

"Heavenly roots are the greatest roots for cultivation one could ever have. Most people have earthly roots which is average for all cultivators even myself. Then regular people have mortal roots which can't cultivate." He calmly explains to me.

"That's kind of what I figured." I reply with a nod.

"This is the testing ground for new disciples to enter the sect and learn the ways of cultivation. Each member who has at least a Earth root will be let into the sect and given a basic pouch of holding 10 cultivation crystals and 10 body strengthening pills. They can earn more by doing tasks for the guild. They will be given a basic cultivation manual to start out with and with contribution points they can buy new manuals or combat techniques from Technique Pavillion. If you become my disciple you'll have much better benefits." He says trying to sway me.

"That sounds like a hassle though." I reply.

"What do you mean?" He asks me seriously.

"Well if I become your disciple won't a bunch of these little bastards try to fight me for my position or come bother me for advice or something." I ask him.

"Well yes you would be asked to help them out or sometimes spar for more resources. But you would also grow due to the combat." he replies scratching his cheek.

I just look at him like an idiot.

"That sounds nothing like a fun peaceful life. I'd probably have to participate in some stupid tournaments or something for hidden realms or medicines or some crap for the face of the sect also right?" I ask him.

"Wellll.... The battle of the hundred sects is coming up in a few years time and the prize is and trip to a sealed realm of a godly cultivator who passed away." he says avoiding my gaze. "My rival from the Burning Hell sect also has says his disciple will be participating and won't stop bragging over chess." he continues.

I start to leave again.
