56 Chapter 52 - Baby

Miyu glanced over at Ryota and Kasumi. She was confused when she saw Ryota gesturing at her and Kasumi glaring at her. She had to admit, Kasumi did have a wonderful voice. When Miyu heard her singing, she knew already that Kasumi was trying to get brownie points from Ryota because his biological mother met his father when his mother danced in front of him and sang. It was a major love story until his mother died giving birth to him, sending the emperor into grief.

Kasumi would've wanted to show that Ryota's mother and her are related through their passion of the arts and maybe be able to connect with Ryota more.

She furrowed her brows and glanced around. Miyu finally noticed that the room was eerily quiet and everyone was glancing between Kasumi and herself.

Miyu asked loudly but politely, "What may be the problem? Is there a reason you're staring at me?"

Silence answered her. She asked once more, "Is there a problem?"

One person shouted from the back, "Well, that handsome man over there just said that the woman who sang beautifully just a moment ago was you sister. Then he said that you were even better at singing! We would like to hear your singing, if it doesn't trouble you!"

When Miyu heard the explanation, she smiled softly, "Of course, what would you like me to sing?"

The crowd began to murmur among themselves before saying, "The song called 'The Ocean Shore' would be good!"

Miyu smiled, "Yes it would."

She sipped her tea to moisten her throat before singing softly, but enough for everyone to hear her melodious voice,

"The waves beat back and forth,

The sun shines left and right,

The wind hits front and back,

And we cry on and on.

Around us things are going every way,

So it's okay to give yourself away,

Show how great you can be,

Sing along with me.

The ocean shore is bright and beautiful,

Wet than dry it changes like we do,

It's fine to change but only for the better,

Let us be like the ocean shore forever and ever."

When she sang, everyone slowly sang with her, until the whole cafe was singing the song. Everyone felt connected with the music, swaying back and forth. Music brings people together, words bring people together. This was Miyu's goal.

Sadly, the only person who wasn't singing was actually sulking. She had a huge frown on her face, which made her look like a baby who had it's lollipop taken away from it.
