53 Chapter 49 - Coins

Kasumi stuttered a bit before saying, "I don't know anything about that, I mean, who would want to kill you?"

Ryota smiled and patted her hand, "That's very assuring, thank you."

Kasumi smiled, happy that he touched her. It made her feel warmer inside, even with the hot heat surrounding them.

Ryota leaned towards her and asked, "Are you sure you haven't heard anything?"

This deep voice scared Kasumi. He was serious, dead serious, and she knew that. She was disappointed that she couldn't give him any good information, though.

Kasumi shook her head, "I'm sorry, but I really don't know. No one has talked to me about you at all!"

Ryota smiles and then leans back into his chair, "Thank you, you're really helpful."

Kasumi grins, happy. She's happy that she can be helpful to her future husband.

Ryota sips his tea but stops when he heard the jingling of a bell. There's a bell attached to the door, and whenever it opens and closes it rings, telling everyone that there is a new customer. The door opened, and Ryota glanced back to see who it is.

It's exactly who he wanted it to be.

Miyu was a little late arriving at the cafe. She decided to pack extra cash before leaving, so that was an extra ten to fifteen minutes before leaving. When she entered the cafe, it was warm and it smelled like red bean pastries. There was laughter and chatting that filled the air and the whole place just gave off a homey feel.

She sat down at a table in the corner of the cafe so she can have some time to herself.

A man around the young age of fourteen came up to her. He gulped a couple of times before saying, "Hello, beautiful miss, what would like to eat today?"

Miyu almost laughed at how awkward the kid was. The boy probably was intimidated by her looks, and was scared that she'll think badly of him.

She smiled, which made the young boy blush, "Good day, I would like to have a hojicha tea with some butter cookies."

The boy hurriedly wrote her order down on a small piece of paper before smiling, "That would be three copper coins please!"

Miyu pulled some coins out of her bag and gave it to the little boy, "Keep the extra."

The boy dropped his jaw, leaving his mouth wide open. The pretty lady in front of him just gave him ten gold coins. Ten gold coins!!!! That could feed his family for years!

The boy dropped down in front of her and bowed, "Thank you so much for your generosity, beautiful miss."

Embarrassed, she tried to pull the boy back up, "You don't have to thank me so, I just like to help people out. I don't like it when people are in tough situations. It makes me feel guilty."

The boy looked at her with shining eyes, "Beautiful miss, of course I need to thank you! Your helpfulness has blessed me and my family, and if I didn't bow I would feel immense guilt. If you ever need me for anything at all, I would do it. I would follow you to death, beautiful miss!"

Miyu smiled and patted his hair, "I don't need anything, young boy. My life might be a little too difficult for you to handle."

The boy frowned, "Young miss, I'm serious! Anything you need, I'll do!"

Miyu continued to rub his head, "I'll be fine. Go on now! You still have to work!"

The boy nodded and ran away. He thanked the gods above for whoever this woman was.
