Chapter 42 - Lifetime

Nakada Ryota brings his head up and gives Kasumi a dashing smile, "Good afternoon, you all are looking beautiful today!"

All the girls bowed their heads and blushed. Even though Kasumi was happy with the compliment, she was infuriated that Ryota also called her friends beautiful, 'How dare you call someone else pretty in front of your future wife? Are you cheating this early in our relationship?'

They lifted theirs heads and greeted him back. Kasumi cleared her throat and said, "It is good to see you First Prince once again. Why have you come to this school?'"

Ryota nods, "It's good to see you too. I have come to this school to see you, First Lady Fujimura! I have been wondering if I could ask you some questions."

Kasumi nodded her head, and flipped her hair back gracefully. She gave him an indifferent look, but inside she was squealing with joy, "Sure, First Prince, I would love to help you in any way."

Even though those words were said innocently, they could also be taken another way. Kasumi was hoping Ryota would take it the other way and pursue her, but she knew that if he would it would be an impossible chance. But she had to try every card she had to win this handsome man over.

Ryota nodded his head once again graciously, "Thank you. Anything for our empire, correct?"

Kasumi smiled sweetly, "En. Anything for our empire!"

Ryota lifted out a hand, an invitation just waiting for Kasumi to grasp. She wasn't stupid, anyone would take this opportunity. She lifted her petite hand and slid it into his, leaving her dumbstruck hands behind and walking down the road of riches to her dream prince and their wedding- soon-to-be.

While Ryota was winning Kasumi over, Miyu was inside her room aggressively petting Arata.

When he had enough of it, he gently bit her hand.

"Ouch!"she glared at the small fox in her lap.

He jumped off and moved until he sat upon his desk. He licked his paw, "You were petting me too hard, don't blame me for being agitated!"

Miyu realized what she was doing and got off the bed. She bowed down to him, "I'm sorry. I don't know why I was doing that."

Arata grinned mockingly, "I know."

Miyu raised herself and looked at him questioningly, "Why?"

Arata laughed and howled, "You're anxious! Jealous! I would've never thought I would see these feelings in you in this lifetime, but here I am!"
