Chapter 30 - Didn't Know

Fujimura Miyu glanced upwards to see who the person was that belonged to the steps. Surprisingly, it wasn't her father. Even though it was the barely morning, the second prince, Nakada Shin, was in her bedroom!

Kasumi immediately bowed, "My second prince, how great it is for me to see you!"

Shin nodded his head towards Kasumi, receiving her praise. Then he dragged his bright, green eyes away from Kasumi and towards Miyu and the maid on the ground, the maid huddled in Miyu's embrace. When Shin saw Miyu's face, he grew angry. He squished his temper, though, and tried to understand what it happening. He didn't want to jump to conclusions.

"Lady Kasumi, why are these two women on the ground with bruises scattering their body?" Shin asked bluntly, getting straight to the point.

Kasumi stuttered, not knowing what to say. She didn't know she was going to get caught in the first place, so she didn't have an escape plan. Suddenly, the maid in Miyu's arms began to cry, "I-I heard L-Lady Miyu cry s-so I wanted to ch-check on her! Auuu, *sniffle*, but w-when I tried to g-go inside, L-Lady Kasum-mi st-topped me. I wanted t-to s-see if L-Lady Miyu was o-okay, so I slipped t-through and w-went to her. L-Lady Miyu w-was already on the ground, BEATEN! I t-tried to h-help her, but L-Lady Kasumi h-hurt me as well! Boohooo!"

The maid began to cry in Miyu's arms, so Miyu rocked her in her laugh and shushed and cooed her, trying to make her calm down. When Shin saw this motherly action, his heart warmed. But when he saw the large, red bruise on her neck, which seemed like someone tried to strangle her, he grew furious. This lady right next to him made her flawless, white skin flawed! Why did this woman try to imperfect this beauty!

He glared Kasumi down, "You beat your sister, then your maid! Are you crazy? Or are you just plain stupid?"

Kasumi shuddered from Shin's hard stare. She heard rumors of Shin being the flirty brother, but never the violent one.

When Kasumi didn't answer, Shin raised his voice, "Answer my question or GET OUT!"

Kasumi, smartly, decided to get out. Shin also ushered the maid out, which left only him and Miyu left in the room.

Miyu began to get suspicious. She thought about it long and hard, 'Who would protect me, when I'm less praised than Kasumi? He must know who I truly am.'

She got up, which surprised Shin, 'How was she able to get up so quickly after getting beaten? This beauty seems strong!'

Miyu sighed, "I guess your brother told me who I am, correct? It's not a surprise to me, though, he seems like a blabbermouth."

Shin was confused, but he played along. Anyone related to his brother was interesting.

Miyu sighed once more, "You know, my sister is quite weak. It must be because of her even weaker mother. I laugh every time I think about her hurting me. I mean, she thinks she's hitting a giftless, little girl, but she's actually hitting one of the most strongest lady, or even lord, that has ever lived!"

Miyu giggled and looked at Shin. She was greeted with a blank face. She was confused, he's supposed to be laughing with her. It was either because he didn't like to laugh, he didn't like the joke, or...

"You didn't know about this, didn't you?"
