1 Prologue

"5 more minutes!" I mumbled, pulling the duvet over my head in an attempt to block out my mother's voice.

"Aloe, you take 2 hours to get ready, get your ass out of that bed now or I'm selling all your books on eBAY."

Eh, I still have Wattpad.

And no, my name is not Aloe Vera. My mum named me Alora due to her weird obsession with the aloe plant 13 years ago. I heard from my dad that she used to have our whole garage filled with flower pots of the aloe plant which she would try to sell on eBAY for some quick cash.

Not wanting to anger her even more, I slid of the bed to get ready for the first day back in school.

I loosened my uniform tie upon entering the school; early September in England could be hot as hell.

"I heard there's a new guy in our year!" Hadlee, my best friend beamed.

That peaked my interest. There were barely any good looking guys in our year. And the few that were actually fit either were gay, had girlfriends or were way too popular to notice us.

"Is he fit?" I questioned, scanning the premises for a new face.

"Hopefully he is. I heard he got kicked out of Parkside."

Parkside was another secondary school in our town and they were known for keeping up a bad reputation with all the druggie kids who never gave a crap about their education.

Hadlee and I walked around the main hallways, hoping to find the new guy. Yes, we were being creeps despite only being 13. Don't judge.

"Fuck. I'm sweating so much. How can someone sweat this much?" I whined, trying to take of my blazer without a teacher noticing.

Just as I was taking it off, I see someone leaning against the lockers. Someone I had never seen before.

And he did something unexpected.

He smiled. At me.

I smiled back.

My heart suddenly began beating faster, something that had never happened outside of PE class. I felt a strange feeling erupting in my chest. It felt good.

How could someone have such a cute smile?

"So are you in or what....Alora?" I heard Hadlee's voice, as if it was a mile away.

My eyes wouldn't leave this new mystery guy no matter how much I tried to look back towards Hadlee.

What the hell was wrong with me?

I blinked. He wasn't looking at me anymore, he was now talking to someone that had just arrived.

"Hadlee, I think I need to poop. My stomach feels weird."

At this moment, I never thought that I'd be confessing to this mystery guy 3 years later.
