2 Chapter 002 - Wiki?

When my eyes cracked open, what I saw was the lushness of a forest, bathed entirely in green.

I laid there for a while as my mind began to clear up. There was this nice feeling of a gentle breeze. The humidity was just enough to make me feel comfortable. And last but not least, that unique, distinguished scent of earthy chemical compound, the smell of ammonia...

...Wait a frigging darn minute.

I quickly bolted up to a sitting position, raising my trembling arm and then gave it a quick sniff.

"..."

Waking up to notice that someone, or something, had peed on you was truly a novel thing…

Sadly, my brain wasn't alert enough to process the entire thing properly, so I quickly stuffed that episode to the back of my head and then blinked a few times to cast away my grogginess. Feeling that my eyes were a bit itchy, I raised my arm and rubbed it on them.

...Wait a frigging darn minute!

Flinging away my peed-on arm as if it was the source of the plague, I tried to raise my other arm, the dominant one. However, nothing happened. I gave it another try, only to yield the same result. Nothing happened.

My dazed mind was suddenly jolted awake, as if getting poured by a bucket of cold water.

It wasn't just that my dominant arm didn't move. I couldn't even feel any sensation on that place. Feeling confused, I cast my eyes downward, setting my sight toward where that arm should have been.

There was nothing there.

Where there should had been an arm attached, there was nothing but empty air.

"..."

I didn't feel dejected, neither did I feel contempt. At that moment, I was just shocked silly. Not even a curse came out of my mouth. Perhaps, that was called acceptance? Either way, this situation was just too shocking for my meager brain.

So I just sat there in silence, rubbing my other, still-intact arm on my forehead in an attempt to calm myself down. Thankfully, this one was still attached. That was the only reason that I could still maintain my sanity.

As expected, the feeling of contact, as well as the assurance that it was indeed still working properly, succeeded in making me feel a bit better. Although, that faint scent of ammonia was quite annoying…

"…"

WAIT A FRIGGING DARN MINUTE!!!

---

Some time later, I had finally managed to come to term with the situation. However, my missing arm was one thing. There was other pressing matter at hand.

I had no idea who I was.

It was the most basic case of amnesia. I could remember basic stuffs about life. I could roughly make a guess about where this forest was located. I could even speak fluently in a language that I felt awfully familiar to me. And yet, when it was the time to draw the line about my own history, I was left with a blank canvas.

Why was I here, in the middle of a forest? How did I get here in the first place? What about my arm? What kind of horrible fight had ended me in this predicament?

Most importantly, which dumbass dared to peed on me-

Ahem, that last one could be ignored.

Anyway, the problem was this lack of identity. Other things could be learned, but if I couldn't even remember my own self, how could I live properly from now on?

"Hmm..."

I crossed my legs, and then relaxed my body. As I closed my eyes, I tried to concentrate, trying to dig out every little remnants of memory still remaining in my jumbled-up mind. Slowly, something began to flow out. Rejoicing, I concentrated harder, trying to make the image clearer and clearer.

What I found made me open my mouth wide agape.
