3 Chapter Three

The loud chatter of young teenagers squealing over their winter break flooded the halls, and the floors were wet with dirty snow water tracked inside from the student's shoes.

"Did you see Sam Lettman last night on the red carpet? When he smiled - " Squeals and love-struck looks echoed at the statement accompanied with more talk on the supernatural celebrities who had recently stepped out into the limelight.

3 months ago, the president of the United States had willingly stepped forward to announce the world of the supernatural that had been living in secrecy side by side with humanity. It had launched the beginning of humanity's obsession with the world of the night and their desire to enter into the forbidden world.

Vampires, werewolves, witches & warlocks, elves, and fairies. Things that only lived in books now can be at the touch of humans and the majority of humanity wanted in.

Dawn knew better though, that to enter the world of the night was to enter into a cage that you couldn't escape from. She was determined to stay where she was, no matter how bad it was.

The warning bell for first period rang, and the stream of students rushed to their classes. Dawn quickly pushed in the last of her peanut butter & jelly sandwich into her mouth and quickly strode to Calculus.

When she walked in, most of the back row seats had been filled already with groups of friends laughing to see one another. Quietly, Dawn made sure her hood was still on, and walked towards one of the empty seats left in the middle of the room.

Pulling out a notebook and pencil Dawn waited for class to start. No one looked at her, nor did they talk to her. It was as if she was invisible, an empty space of poisonous air they made sure to walk around and never come into contact with.

The bell rang, and Ms. Gray walked in. Next to her side was a young man, his raven black hair styled fashionably, fitted white t-shirt and blue jeans showed off his very masculine figure. Although his clothes looked very normal, the way he carried himself was of someone who knew how dangerous he was and liked it that way.

At the sight of him, the room went silently quiet.

Ms. Grey smiled at her student's star-struck looks.

"Class, we have a new student here with us today. His name is Ewan Green - "

Loud gasps and chatter exploded in the room.

Ewan Green, one of the most famous and sought out Supernatural celebrities was here - in the flesh. He was renowned for being the cruel and deadly vampire prince, whose thirst for blood ran deep and kindness was nonexistent. Despite his reputation, women flocked to him for power and the chance for being the one to finally catch him.

"Quiet!" Ms. Grey's loud yell shocked the students into quieting down. Clearing her throat, Ms. Grey sternly continued on.

"I understand everyone is all excited about Mr. Green, but this is still Advanced Calculus. Talk and chatter outside of the classroom. In here, you are expected to pay attention to me."

Turning back to look at Ewan Green, Ms. Grey allowed a smile to form on her face. "Mr. Green, there is an empty seat in the front way. Go ahead and sit there."

Nodding his head, he strode over to the seat, plopped his backpack on the floor and sat down.

As class continued, Dawn avoided looking at Ewan - keeping her whole focus on Ms. Grey's words on the board. 50 minutes later, the bell rang and kids swarmed to the front of the room to get a word in with the vampire prince.

Dawn waited until the majority of the students had surrounded Ewan before she made her escape out the door. The moment she stepped out of the room and into the hall, a sigh of relief escaped her.

She did it. Although she wasn't out of the woods yet, Dawn had effectively avoided Ewan Green for today. Before, it was through Ewan that she met -

Not even wanting to think his name, she quickly sped up to her next class.

Ewan Green watched the little human girl rush out of the room. She was a quick little thing.

"Hey Ewan, what's your next period?" The question was followed with a over-flood of perfume that made Ewan's head swirl.

Snarling at the students around him, he sensed fear overwhelm the room tinged with excitement at the sight of his ferality. Instead of rushing away from him, like smart people would do, they seem to press even closer to him.

Grabbing his bag, he pushed through the cloud of humans and walked to find his next class. Cursing silently at his luck, he hoped that he found who he was looking for as soon as possible.
