Cherry Was Worth It

Cherry was a bit distracted after that thinking about what the future might hold for her and the man she loved but managed to stay active in the conversation at least. They had a pleasant visit overall.

She liked Richie. He was funny. She could see why Scott called them both eccentric and thought they would get along.

But she couldn't stop thinking about the grandchildren thing. She wasn't able to address it until after they were in the rental car on the way to the airport after hugging Richie goodbye and promising to visit again later this year for longer this time.

"Does he bring up the grandchildren thing often?" Cherry asked offhandedly.

Scott let out a heavy sigh. "Yeah. Sorry about that."

"I think wanting grandchildren is a universal old person thing. Don't worry about it. He's really cool. I like him. I can see why you look up to him so much."
