Chapter 1

"Ano ba naman yan Ash! Sobrang bagal, para kang tortol!" She said jokingly but she's a little bit mad based on her reaction.

I just stared at her while trying to contain my laugh because she might get really angry at me for laughing.

After the talk Vien and I had at the park that day, I just found my self going back to the exact place where she offered friendship to me.

We got along pretty well even though we have a lot of differences. I like to read, study, experiment and do things related to science but she, on the other hand, likes to explore, play on the outside and enjoy the so called childhood.

We've been hanging out lately because I want to get closer to her and right now she's dragging me to the slide where I first saw her with the other children and I have no complains about that which is very unusual in my part. I am used to do things alone and being dragged by someone I recently met is a big no, no for me but here I am, obeying her and still smiling.

"Bilisan mo na Ash, papakilala kita sa mga friends ko para di kana kawawa dun sa gilid. Lagi ka nalang may libro. Ako na yung naaawa sa mata mo promise!" I think she's too exaggerated about that but I just smiled.

"Alright, alright but let's slow down a little bit. Di ako sanay tumakbo eh."

"Paa naman kasi dapat yung pinapatakbo, hindi laging utak!"

The way she said that was a bit sarcastic but she's very vocal and straightforward kind of person that's why I want her to be my friend because I can sense that she's not lying nor pretending whenever we were together.

She introduced me to her friends which I think was also a good idea because I want to have fun like what I witness that very day we became friends. They talked about something that I didn't quite understand but I heard the word tiktok.

I just stared at her while discussing what she was talking about. She seems very interested with the topic that she forgot about me.

"Hoy kanina kapa nakatitig kay Princess ah?" The other girl named Fritz asked me. Maybe she find it creepy that I am staring at her friend.

"Uhm she's the first friend I got so I wanna know her more."

"Alam mo ba, pinaguusapan ka ng mga bata dito kasi sobrang seryoso mo lagi tapos parang ang talino mo lalo pa na Doctor yung Nanay at tatay mo."

I was shocked knowing that piece of information from her because I thought they just didn't notice me at all.

"I wanna be friends with you all but I'm kinda shy. And also, I'm not that smart, I'm just fond of reading books because I rarely go outside. My parents forbid me to do so."

"Ah balakajan, ang hirap mong kausapin. Nasa Pilipinas ka naman, bakit English ka ng English? Sana all Englisherist." She then ran towards the other girl and started talking.

Are they really having a hard time understanding English? Is it that hard? Maybe I should try to speak in tagalog more often so I can make friends with them.

I was preoccupied that I didn't noticed Vien dancing some moves from this application called tiktok. I can tell that she loves doing it and she has the skill.

I spend my whole summer playing at the park with Vien and the others that I didn't expected to happen. I thought I'll get to read a lot of books which involves the brain but I couldn't do it for Vien keeps on occupying my whole system.

I found out that Vien has an older sister which is in Highschool. Her parents were both into business that I rarely see them for they are always out due to business meetings just like how my parents were busy saving lives.

Their house is just a few blocks away from us that during our birthdays, mine was May 17 and hers was June 4, I just invited her to our house, eat and discuss things which mostly consist of her rants and I on the other side, enjoys listening to her.

Her birthday party was a grand one. She's a social butterfly so a lot of people was invited compared to mine. My parents were busy so I only celebrated it with her.

I attended the party but go home after greeting Vien and gave my gift which is a set of hair tie that I ask my Nanay to buy for I always remember the day we first met, she has that cute ponytails that suits her very well.

During that time, I don't exactly know what I was feeling. I thought it is just me being friendly for she is the first friend I had but little did I know it was more than that.
