6 Secrets Out

After huffing, puffing and stomping all the way back down to his room he pushed open the doors to his bedroom. The doors swung back and forth and almost knocked over the Princess until one of the guards held it open for her.

Chaos flopped on his bed face first and laid there while the princess walk around his room.

"You have quite a big room for... just you." The princess' sweet honey like voice filled the quietness of the room.

"Thanks...I guess. Wait your bed room isn't big?" Chaos said turning over on his back and resting his arms behind his head. He laid there staring at the ceiling.

"No..." Hope said still wandering.

Silence filled the air between them. The princess stoped and stood there watching Chaos do nothing but lay in bed.

She hesitated for a second but then she asked. "Why do hate your father so much?"

Chaos was caught off guard. "I don-... I didn't used to." He said. He sat up on his bed and looked to Hope then down at the floor. He had kicked his shoes off when they entered his room but he was still wearing socks but he usually always had socks on.

"Then why do you now?" Hope questioned. Chaos shrugged. "Everything just changed after my mother died."

"Oh I see." She folded her hands in front of her and sat in Chaos's chair that was in front of his desk. She picked up the note that Isla had left with the suit he was wearing now. Chaos watched her carefully afraid that if he did say anything maybe even just a little mean his father would yell at him later.

He wasn't used to having people go through his things and got a little possessive over his stuff whenever they did.

The princess put the note back on his desk and spun in the chair to face back towards Chaos. "How...ho-." She started.

"How did my mother die?" Chaos finished the question for her.

"Um yeah...sorry. You don't have to answer that." She apologized. Chaos sighed. "No it's okay. All I know is what my father tells me."

"And that is?"

"That she got murdered on her way back home from a trip to our neighboring kingdom to get some seeds from this rare flower called a Jade Vine." He said.

"And how old were you?"

"Sixteen."

"I'm so very sorry, Chaos." The princess said looking at him. He was still looking at the ground and started swinging his feet. He also couldn't help but wonder why she wanted to know all this information.

"Do you wanna get back? I'm pretty sure your parents will get worried about you if you don't return to them soon." Chaos said jumping down from his bed.

"Um..." The princess said looking at the clock on Chaos's room wall. "Yeah I'd better."

"They should be done eating by now....You guys are staying in the West Wing, right?" He said opening the door and actually holding it for her this time. "That's where most of our guest stay."

"Actually we're staying in the East Wing. My mother wanted the room that overlooked the garden." She said smiling. "It's such a beautiful garden."

"Yeah, it is. Are you staying in the room across or...?"

"I'm staying in the room two doors down from them. The room is so beautifully decorated. I wanted to stay in the there because of it."

Chaos smiled. "I'm glad you think that, my mother and I decorated it ourselves. It's the only one they'd let me help with."

"You've done a wonderful job." She walked closer to him.

"Thanks." Chaos looked at her and at then to his hand where hers was getting much closer. He folded his hands behind his back and pretended he didn't notice the frown on the princess's face when he did.

They reached the East wing but the room that over looked the garden was all the way at the end of the hallway.

"So...what do you do for fun here?, maybe we can do something tomorrow?" Princess Hope suggested.

"Um, I usually ride my horse Apollo and hang out with Mayhem. Other then that there not much else." Chaos shrugged.

"I love horses. Do you have more then one?"

"Yeah, we... me and my father have five all together. Apollo, Speck, Newt, Ophelia, and King." Ophelia was his mother's horse but Chaos felt like he should keep that information to himself. "They sound like lovely horses." She looked to him and half smiled. Chaos nodded.

They stopped at the Kings and Queens guest room. Chaos was about to knock.

"I can-." The princess started but her fathers voice boomed through the open crack of the door into the hallway.

"But Anne she has so much more potential to be a ruler than him." The two heard the King, Hopes father say from inside the room.

"Herod..." Queen Anne said quietly. "This kingdom is falling apart."

"That's not our fault that's Caspian's problem." When Chaos heard the king say this he almost burst into the room but the princess grab his wrist. Hope looked into Chaos's eyes and shook her head. She brought a finger up to her lip and shushed. Chaos unballed his fist and calmed himself down. He sighed deeply.

The two were still listening to the King and Queens conversation.

"I still think we should let them get married." Queen Anne said calmly.

Chaos raised his eyebrow. "Ma- Married?" He whispered. The princess looked at him. "You didn't know?" She questioned. "No." He said out loud. His father had mentioned getting married to him and he refused but he didn't think that he would set up an arranged marriage. He was getting mixed feelings and started walking away from the princess. "Where are you going?"

"To talk to my father." He said his fist balled again. As he walked to his fathers sleeping chambers, every emotion he was feeling from just learning this information was confusing him.

Frustration

Anger

Annoyance

Tears started forming in his eyes. He wasn't sad he was frustrated with himself and everybody else around him.
