20 "What the hell happened here!"
"What!! She did what!" Ash yelled.
"She began craving. I didn't know what to do. I wasn't going to let her suffer or die. I tried animals blood-" Jacklyn explained before being cut off.
"Animals blood doesn't work with her anymore. She can't drink it. Her body rejects it." Ash cut off.
Jacklyn walked over to the sink to clean up her arm. She grabbed a cloth and rinsed it under the cold water the dragged it over her arm. Removing the blood and making the lines become more visible. She could see the bite marks left by Scarlett.
"Jeez, If I still lived with my mum she'd flipping kill me over this. She'd probably call me stupid and immature and ground me for life. No joke." Jacklyn said to herself.
Ash walked over to where Jacklyn stood and handed her a bandage from the first aid in the cupboard behind the sink and helped her cover her arm up. Jacklyn pulled her jacket sleeve down.
"Thank you for helping Scarlett, Jacklyn. You could of called me though instead. I would of came straight home, But thank you again." Ash thanked.
"Of course. I now understand why you have been doing this for Scarlett, I now know. I'm sorry I judged you for it all, I guess I never understood clearly. It all makes sense, I am just happy I could help. Honestly. If I just knew all of this I could of came to understand sooner and none of this could of happened. This is yours and Scarlett's life choice, Lifestyle. I'm glad you guys trust each other, Its different I will admit but I'm glad I could help while you were away I would be just as devastated as you if Scarlett did ya know.. Pass away from it." Jacklyn explained.
"I am so glad you finally understand Jacklyn, Took you long enough didn't it." Ash joked,
"It was honestly never my intention for things to end up this way. You and me, That fight, Scarlett hunting, drinking loads of blood, and now this. Scarlett left to go hunt to kill Manson. She killed her own kind. Tate, Well he was just an idiot, I could word it so much worse honestly I could. In a sense it all happened for a reason. Everything happens for a reason I suppose. Scarlett just needs time to recover. Look at everything that has happened to her this past week! It's going to be hard. She will lose control and crave, but that is all recovery. She needs us Jacklyn." Ash exclaimed.
"Yeah I know. I am just so glad you managed to keep her stable to this point." Jacklyn said with a smile across her face,
"Yeah... Well if you must know. It has been hard. There has been rough times, but still. Its mainly been a lot of blood drinking. Animal blood does not work for her anymore. The only way she can really stabilise is human blood even her own just temporary satisfies the cravings. Its hard to explain. Her own blood just almost satisfies her and that's with slicing her own arms open for a load of blood. Yet, just a little of mine satisfies her for days. Kind of makes no sense to me, But her own blood is starting to not work." Ash explained.
Jacklyn looked at Ash really confused. Ash sighed to himself, he took off his jacket, placed it down. He then undid the bandana tied around his wrist and moved his wrist upwards so Jacklyn could see his arm. There was lines, Deep ones, Ones stitches up and shallow scars. There was bigger patches of scars than others. All still red and some even swollen.
"What the hell! Ash! Look what she has done to you." Jacklyn yelled.
Ash ignored Jacklyn and proceeded to hide the cuts on his wrist with his bandana again.
"What have you gotten yourself into. Are those okay? Do you need to go to the hospital or something? Those look deep and bad!" Jacklyn added.
"I know what I have gotten in to and no I don't regret it. Why should I? I love her dammit. I'd do anything for her. I'd take my own life for her, Sometimes, You have to risk things for the person you love. As in this case. I scarred my arms, for Scarlett. To keep her stable and satisfied. Nothing would hurt me more than to see Scarlett struggling with her blood drinking. I'm here to help her, and that's what I intend to do for the rest of my life." Ash said with a faint smile.
Ash looked at Scarlett who had her back still turned to them, leaning against the counter for balance, just standing there. Stunned and shocked for what she had done and that Ash caught her in the act. Ash picked up a cloth and ran it under warm water then walked over Scarlett placed his hands on her shoulders and turned her around to face him. He handed her the wet cloth and stood there in front of her.
"Here, Clean up your mouth love. As much as I love seeing that crimson blood on your face and lips its truly no look for a girl like you. My princess." Ash said gently.
With shaking hands Scarlett took the cloth from Ash. She placed it upon her face and clean up her face. Ash took the cloth from Scarlett after she finished and handed it to Jacklyn who placed the dirty, blood covered cloths into the washing machine. Scarlett hadn't said a word to anybody for a while. Ash pulled Scarlett close to his side.
"Scarlett. Love, Don't worry. I understand now. I'm sorry, I never meant to explode on you and make you feel awful" Ash apologised.
Scarlett moved her head downwards so their eyes couldn't meet, Ash tried to move Scarlett's head but she kept turning away until Ash felt something wet on his shirt. Scarlett's tears. She was crying. She was tightly pressed against Ash crying into his shirt.
"Scarlett.." Ash softly asked,
"I am sorry. So sorry. I didn't mean to. I couldn't control myself." Scarlett whimpered.
"Hey! it's okay! Don't worry. I understand." Ash softly said hugging Scarlett.
"No, I should of had more control. I am sorry. Ash.. I am so sorry. I should of controlled my cravings better. I should of drank your blood as you told me. I'm sorry! I should of controlled myself better, I'm a hunter and a vampire, not a child, I should be able to control myself without someone there to tell me." Scarlett cried.
"I know Scarlett. I know you're sorry" Ash said.
Scarlett pulled from the hug and Ash wiped away her tears. Her face was stained black from her mascara running.
"You're a mess. Look at you. Somebody like you should not have your make up smudged like this. You put lots of dedication towards it. Time and effort too, Your beautiful, and I don't think you should be crying. Go clean your eyes up in the bathroom. " Ash laughed.
Scarlett softly smiled and nodded. Ash then softly kissed her in the lips before Scarlett took off up the stairs to clean up.
"Eww, You guys STILL make me sick. Just watching all this was disgusting." Jacklyn exclaimed.
"Well, nobody asked you to stay or watch" Ash said
"Watch it Mr. Hybrid, Unless you wanna re-act the other day." Jacklyn snapped.
"Alright, Jacklyn come help me get this table and food in would you?" Ash asked.
Jacklyn went outside with Ash to help him bring in the food he bought and then bring in the new glass coffee table; French glass, Tinted blackish-grey, Table legs made from the best wood around and varnished to perfection. They put the skull candle holders back on the table and a vase of one of Scarlett's favourite kind of flowers. Roses. Blood red and some black. They just finished setting the table up by the time Scarlett came down stairs.
Scarlett stood there with a very bright facial expression. She finally got her coffee table back after the other one was smashed.
" I hope you like this one even better than before" Jacklyn said.
"I got you these roses, cause i know you love roses. I guess it could be a apology from us to you Scarlett." Ash added.
"Oh my god! Thank you so much Ash, Jacklyn. Thank you! It is even better than the other one. Just don't break this one. If you got business to do, please do it out the house this time. I don't want another table replacement, thank you." Scarlett laughed
Ash took Jacklyn and Scarlett out for Dinner later on in the day. They all returned back home around eleven at night after a few drinks between them all; Explaining their recent days and what they had planned for the future. They all went to bed. Jacklyn Stayed in the guess room just down the hallway from Scarlett's and Ash's Bedroom.
