On the Veil of a Woman

Run!Run!Run! I kept urging my legs forward. The yelping of the asaltians didn't help. They were dangerously closing on me. 'Damnit! Don't you know when to stop?' I cursed inwardly. I raced to Maddison's bridge. My heart was erratically beating ,my legs were thundering , consciousness slipping away. A sharp gruelling pain on my leg cleared all tiredness ,awaking a renewed vigor and strength. I leaped into the icy cool and inviting waters of River Maddison .The guttural growl of the dogs as they plunged after me was all I needed . Gathering the last of my strength , I hoped into the awaiting motor boat.

Gunning it to life ,I sped away as a splatter of bullets hit the water a second later . Smiling devilishly, I stuttered " not today ; next time guys." The police constable shouted ,blue veins popping out of his head," Shit he got away again , always getting away. " Taking his radio phone , he quickly reported,"police patrols on Port Mason stay on alert,he is on a motor boat labelled,Death Cruiser 007. Copy. Over and out." Watching this action ,upon arriving on a bend ,I sverved the boat and headed for Port Klark.Looking at the tailtale signs of the bite marks on my left leg, I patted my fat pockets and smiled. Treatment was no problem.

8 hours earlier.

I oiled my gun meticulously, before reassembling the parts. Wearing my French piece suit ,beige coat to cover the bulge in my waist. Stopping at Bost and roast reasturant and bar.I went straight to the corner table,overlooking the entrance where equally smartly dressed two men sat, drinking coffee leisurely .A premonition kept urging me to turn and back out. My great ego stopping me from doing so. As we conversed I noticed that one of my counterpart's hands were shaking.

My instincts screamed at me .The plan had been laid. We were to rob Moneyland bank .We reassured ourselves as we paitently awaited for 9 am. Sitting at this cafe we watched as the guards rolled open the bank.From the corner of my eye I saw him press a button,which blinked red once,were we not for my sharp eyesight I would have missed it. Excusing myself to the bathroom ,I sent a message to my other colleague," he is red* , be cautious." He quickly replied, " he is new "

We queued nicely while arranging ourselves.Taking care of the two guards was easy,using the gun to knock one unconscious while performing apressure technigue to the neck of the other. Urging the rest to hurry up.Packing the bags with money while barking threats to the common folk who lay in the ground . Quickly taking the bags, we rushed out .The distant jarring of the police alarm sounded to close for comfort.

Racing to the open Nissan Cameron, I jumped into the driver seat,placing the gears before starting the car.To my dismay, the wires were cut and steering wheel locked." I knew it , Fuck!" I banged at the dashboard before leaping out.He was no where to be found . A cold voice behind me spoke," Don't try anything funny!" Putting into my life at stake ,I rolled away whilst throwing a hefty roundhorse kick. The screeching of tires on the grovel ,grandly announced their entry.

"Don't move! Raise your hands !" A hoarse yet tense voice rang through the speaker.Throwing caution to the wind ,I grabbed two bags before simmersaulting to avoid the barrage of bullets,knocking out the police rider. I thrust the throtlle down spinning and drifting the bike before speeding away.I was the prey and the predator was hot on my heels . Twisting and turning to avoid the trajectories of the bullets. I raced away,the blarring of the siren aided me as many cars gave me way.

I raced towards Maddison's bridge, where lay my contingency plan.As I upproached the bridge ,I watched to my horror as the fuel in the bike went low as the bike slowed down. Glancing at it once showed that a bullet had graced the fuel tank making a hole which had leaked the fuel. I jumped off and ran the last 1 mile of the distance. At that same the police cars,approched grinding to a halt .The handlers released their dogs. It was a matter of time before they caught up with me .And so I ran.
