9 Chapter 9, Aftermath

My body evolved, my skin exploding outwards as dark black scales erupted from my small form.

I had let up on my shapeshifting, reverting to my base form, well if you included my hulked out form as still a base.

Godzilla had questioned what exactly I was once more, and in response, I decided to show him what I truly looked like as an amalgamation of genetics…

We stood in antarctica, sharp and freezing cold winds bombarding us.

In technicality, Godzilla was standing completely unbothered.

He watched as I grew in size and changed in texture.

I developed impenetrable scales like the titan before me, and white dorsal spikes grew out of my back.

A long and thick tail grew from my rear end, growing far longer than I would have expected.

The dorsal spikes on my back jutted out extremely far, much farther than Godzilla. Most noticeably, I had arms reminiscent of humans.

Despite my biceps and upper arms being relatively thick proportionately, my lower arms were much thicker, like trunks.

I still possessed a human torso, with human pectoral muscles and even an armored eight pack of sorts.

My legs were not very human shaped, likely being derived from Godzilla's reptilian DNA, and the Martian genetics within me. I could only assume the gamma radiation also amplified these characteristics.

My legs had thick armored quads, with knees that bent backwards. My feet were four armored toes, providing a decent amount of stability.

As for my head, it was roughly shaped like Zilla's, from the 2000s movie, but less meaty and more scaly.

At max height, I was roughly 226 meters, and length wise I could tell I was a whopping 625 meters including my tail.

As for Godzilla, he was 195 meters, with a length of 490.

He was already far larger than any depiction in the films, yet I still surpassed this height.

It made me wonder how big Kong would be…

"You are also an extraterrestrial… But you have my DNA." Godzilla thought, his arms hanging low as he leant forward.

He sniffed me, chomping his maw a few times jumping back each time as if he was smelling something rancid.

"You are unbelievably radioactive… There is an incredible amount of energy within you." I smiled hearing this, knowing that Godzilla himself was a big contributor to this.

His mutated DNA made him a walking nuclear reactor, and I was too now.

I was consistently producing radiation I knew existed.

It was a radiation specific to Godzilla's cells that seemed to both contaminate and heat up water sources, along side cause mutations in entities.

It was just another power source for me that I could use against other.

I felt some excitement when thinking of contaminating someone with my G-cells, forcefully mutating them…

Of course, despite being a nuclear power plant, my electromagnetic field stopped me from leaking too much radiation into the world.

But that was not any of my concerns.

"Let's fight. I'd like to see exactly how powerful you are." I said, cracking my neck, watching as Godzilla's gaze hardened.

It only took one sentence to get him in battle mode, and once he had, I could see the atomic beam charging up.

"Oh how fun this will be." I whispered, a smile everpresent on my face.

"It's been almost a full week, and the heroes have still not answered many of our questions! The people of Manhattan especially are under constant fear. Who, or what, was the creature that appeared in midtown? Is Superman alright? How did those people stop the battle? Why was there a fight to begin with?" A news anchor questioned.

"We all have many questions, but here, today we have a few guests that may answer some of them for us." She continued, motioning her hands to the side as the camera zoomed out, fitting 3 more people into the frame.

"Today we are hosting 3 of the people that appeared mid battle and stopped the conflict! Hiro Nakamura, Ando Masahashi, and Peter Petrelli." She finished, smiling and turning more towards the three.

"Hello! I am Hiro!" Hiro raised his hand with a smile, pushing up his glasses.

"I am Ando." Ando raised his hand more reluctantly, nervousness on his face.

"And I am Peter Petrelli." Peter said lastly, a more stern gaze on his face.

It seemed he was here for business.

"So, could any of you men tell us who that creature was, and why he attacked the heroes?" The anchor asked, Hiro perking up instantly!

"I can!" He raised his hand, the anchor nodding in laughter. "That man was Eramus! He is a god and is here to protect the world!" Hiro pointed his finger up and smiled ecstatically.

As a confused expression appeared on the newscaster's face, Peter Petrelli took the floor.

"He is not here to protect the world." He cut in.

"He is here to protect himself and anyone he deems under his scope or influence. More importantly, he is here to have fun and he does not care for life in the same way we do..." He explained, the anchor leaning innto heed his words.

"We chose to come on the station to clear up the air and to inform the world of something important. Eramus is not a supervillain, he is virtually a god, he does not value the same things as we do. And he did not attack the heroes either, we were present, and we clearly saw Superman throw the first punch."

"It is in our best interest to keep Eramus on the side of humanity, as in a few months time, or even less, there will be a disaster capable of destroying this world with relative ease." Peter said, his face truly stern, making the anchor gulp.

"We too have superpowers…" Peter said, lifting a palm as a ball of fire spawned within his hand. "And both me and Hiro are capable of manipulating space and time. We have both seen the future, and we can attest to the destruction of the world if we do not have Eramus on our side." He dropped his arm, extinguishing his flame and bringing both hands together.

"Soon, the ancient king, King Kaiser Ghidorah will descend upon the world." Peter closed his eyes and shook his head.

"As for his goal?" He spoke, lifting his eyes and resolutely staring into the camera.

"Complete consumption of the solar system."

With those words, the screen turned off, Batman standing up from his chair, a rude glare on his face, but of course that was normal.

"Record the rest of the broadcast." He spoke, an AI he installed instantly heeding his words.

Bruce was irritated, he had told Hiro and his crew to not speak of what transpired in Manhattan, though rather unfortunately they disappeared before he could put trackers on them.

He didn't think they would show up on the news a week later…

And they even defamed Superman by making it known he struck first.

People woold now project their anger onto Superman, their savior, instead of the common enemy….

Bruce shook his head, navigating the hallways of the Justice Watchtower, until he entered the medbay.

He approached a capsule, peering into it.

His gaze landed upon the Man of Steel, laying peacefully within the solar energy unit.

"We'll have lots of work to do once you awaken…"
