I opened my eyes and I find myself lying down in the middle of a field of flowers. I sat up and looked around, admiring the beauty of the environment that I put myself into.
Compared to the other worlds that I've been in, this one rejected modern technology and instead embraced the combination of science, tradition and magic. It's impressive how far they've come and how many strong creatures they have here.
I stood up and stretched my new body. I chose to be a human since they're the most common race in this world. Not only that, the powerful beings here would be surprised when a supposedly normal human could overpower them so easily.
I looked at my body and modified my clothing to a suit the norms; just a simple white dress that goes down below my knees and black flat shoes. I made my brown hair longer and tied it up to a neat bun.
I'm no stranger in being a woman. In fact, being a beautiful maiden is very useful in seduction and charming greedy rulers across different worlds. I just need to fix my personality to better fit the narrative of what I'm trying to be.
Maybe a gentle, mature and big sister type? That sounds good. It would make me more trustworthy and likable. I'd be gaining dedicated fans in no time.
I stood up and walked towards a small pond to look at my reflection. I definitely look like someone who would fit royalty status.
Now that that's over, I should begin to look for anyone who can help me in this world. I didn't gather that much information yet because that'll make everything boring and predictable. It's more fun if things get a little bit out of hand sometimes.
I walked in a random direction, looking out for any person, animal or creature that would peak my interest. So far, this seems like a peaceful place. I think I've chosen a good location to start my quest.
I entered a forest and was surprised to see a small human-like creature with large butterfly wings floating around a flower. It's making this adorable squeaking sound that makes it seem like it's angry or ranting to itself.
"Excuse me?" I adjusted my voice to a mildly deep feminine tone. It's time for me to practice my new personality and character.
The small creature looked at me in surprise before freezing in place. I think it's paralyzed in fear so I knelt down in front of it to impose that I meant no harm.
It then gently start to move and fly around me. This curious little thing is just so adorable that I want to keep it as a pet. Is this what they call a Fairy? I want one!
It started to squeak again and I lightly frown. Maybe it wants something from me.
It flew by the flower and started to pull it, having obvious difficulty with the task. Then it looked at me with adorable shining eyes.
"Ah, I see." I mumbled and them plucked the flower that it's holding.
It bowed while tightly holding the flower in its small arms and I reciprocated the action with my head. When it flew away, I felt a small sense of regret that I didn't capture it.
No matter. There's probably thousands of similar creatures like it in this world.
I stood back up and went deeper into the forest. The cries of different animals almost blend into the scenery of the woods, producing a rather relaxing atmosphere.
I hear the steady stream of water somewhere, almost like a small waterfall or a river.
With that, I could also sense multiple living beings in the same direction.
I followed the sound and I arrived in a clearing. Not too far from me, I spot a small group of people just across the river.
One of them noticed me, a young human man in silver armor and blonde hair, and he stood from his seat to approach me. I tried to appear as if I'm relieved to have found them.
"Miss, do you need help?" He called out to me as he half-ran to my direction. He stopped in front of the river just beyond from me.
"Oh, yes! Please, I have no idea what happened to me!" I replied with concerned eyes and he looked like he's about to enter a war or something.
In a span of a few minutes, he and all of his men, five of them in total, helped me cross the river. They told me that they were patrolling knights of the nearby kingdom and that they just happen to stop by to rest before continuing.
"We've received several reports of Orcs and Ogres attacking innocent civilians in the past few weeks in these woods. You're lucky that you're now safe from harm." One of them said as they escorted me back to their makeshift camp.
Orcs and Ogres? Interesting.
"What brought you to this forest? The nearest village is miles away from here." The first man who approached me earlier asked. He guided me to a large log and gestured for me sit down.
I immediately thought of something more believable rather than having to make up an entire backstory that I'll possibly forget later on.
"I can't remember. I just woke up in the middle of a flower field and wandered around until I found all of you." I replied, sounding sad and concerned to emphasize my supposed emotions. I see a flash of empathy in his eyes and I stopped myself from smirking at the predictability of the situation.
They gave me food, water and a blanket even though I require none of those to survive. But, of course, I accepted all of them and even smiled at the knights.
As expected, almost all of them seem to be already head-over-heels for me. If all of the people in this world are easily charmed like them, then this will probably be a short mission.
They introduced themselves one-by-one; the first man that I met was Lyonel, then there's Eider, Ivory, Typhon and Varick. In my assumption, they're all the same age and rank since they address each other so casually.
"May we know your name, pretty lady?" Typhon asked as he sat beside me.
If he, or anyone, tries anything that I don't like, I wouldn't hesitate to slam their faces onto the ground.
Also, a name? I haven't thought about that yet, but I guess it's now the time to quickly think of one.
I thought of my previous names from all the worlds that I've conquered in the past. Maybe I'll just recycle one of them.
"My name is Anaia Omni." I answered, smiling. I'm too lazy to think of a random surname so I just always go with my real name instead.
"Such a beautiful name for a beautiful maiden!" Typhon said and his eyebrows jumped up and down.
Is he trying to flirt with me? If he is, then he's horribly failing. He's the ugliest one in the group and I bet the Orcs and Ogres think that he's one of them.
"Thank you. You're too kind." I replied with a small forced smile.
Thankfully, Lyonel pulled him away from me.
"Stop being so intrusive and start packing. We'll accompany her to the kingdom and find a healer to look after her." He scolded as they walked away.
Well, well. I like this human already!
I waited by the fire as they dismantle their makeshift tents and untied their horses from the nearby trees. They also filled their canteens with water from the river before they covered the bonfire with dirt.
"Are you fine with riding with me?" Lyonel asked as he fixes the saddle of his horse.
Is he blind? He's practically the only one here who doesn't seem to see me as some sort of meal. If I rode with the others, they'd probably take me someplace else.
"Yes, of course." I answered gently.
Once he mounted his horse, he pulled me up and I put my arms around his waist to tease him. I spotted the sudden light blush on his cheeks up to his ears.
I can clearly tell that he's inexperienced with women. It's probably because he's way too serious in his role as a knight.
He cleared his throat and I saw the jealousy sparking in the eyes of his supposed comrades.
"Let's move out!" Lyonel declared and we started to ride away from the clearing.
It took us a few minutes before we got out of the forest. I saw a few of those adorable small Fairies again and I was tempted to jump off the horse to catch myself one.
Maybe I'll do that once I have free time. For now, the process of my world domination has just begun and I need to focus on that first.
Soon, the dirt and grass that the horses are running on changed to solid stone. It looked like some sort of pathway that led to the main entrance of the kingdom.
And then I saw it.
A large castle is peeking out from the tall stone walls, seemingly built in the middle of its borders. A deep cliff separated the kingdom from the rest of the world and it seems that the only way to both enter and exit the place is through the gigantic single stone bridge connecting the pathway directly to the gates.
A small hut is built on the side of the bridge where two knights are stationed. Lyonel slowed down to greet his fellow knights and I could feel their eyes on me as we rode away.
I stared at the entrance that's getting more and more closer.
The instant I step into this kingdom, it's already mine.
