1 Prologue (Part 1/3)

Mere minutes ago, in an underground hospital, an omega finished giving birth to twin babies. It was over; she had finished her sentence—an unofficial sentence for a crime she was wrongly framed for.

The Lab she worked in had documents containing information of the illegal genetic experiments they were secretly implementing. Not even the omega herself knew of the unlawful experiments.

Three years ago, pages from those documents were released once a week for five weeks before the original disk with all the information was placed among her possessions with her fingerprints on it. No one believed her, only her beloved fated mate and colleague.

Of course the Lab would be shut down if they went to the authorities, so the Lab members gave her a punishment of their own: to be a surrogate as many times until successful or should her death stop her.

This was her fourth time trying and finally it was over. She didn't even want to look at the babies she gave life to, and she didn't have to. They were immediately taken away by the doctor followed by the nurses—leaving the omega to herself.

Genetically, the babies belong to a wealthy and powerful double alpha bond who paid billions upon billions to "conceive" a genetically engineered child with the Alpha X secondary gender.

The impossible project made possible.

The babies were much more important than the woman who delivered them.

Finally she could rest and she did. She relaxed and went into a deep sleep; the first time she had slept so comfortably in three years. Unfortunately, her sleep was short lived and her tranquility was interrupted with a startled jump. Someone's arms were wrapped around her.

"Shhh. It's me." Her mate! The omega instantly relaxed. "We don't have much time. Can you move?"

"It hurts."

"I know darling. Be strong. We'll be out of here before you know it." She swiftly picked up the omega and gently placed her on top of the shoes she brought in preparation. The omega then heard a distinct gurgle from her mate. Specifically on her mate's chest. That can't be…

"What's that?"

"I'll explain later. We need to go. Take this." The omega nodded and together they left the room. She received two things: a bullet proof vest her size and a small handgun. She immediately put the vest over her hospital clothes and her mate grabbed hold of her. Her free hand gripped the weapon.

Surprisingly, the halls were dark and empty. The pair quietly slipped through the vacant hallway, their footsteps making barely audible clacks on the tile floor. As they rounded the corner—where the elevator was located—the omega suddenly remembered the cameras.

"Security!" The omega hissed, panicking.

"Took care of it." Came the reassuring whisper. The omega relaxed but still kept her guard up. The clear was given and they rushed into the elevator.

The moment the doors closed shut, both simultaneously exhaled in relief.

"We're safe for the time being. I have a car waiting for us in the woods." The omega wasn't fully paying attention to her mate's words. Only the baby on her chest.

"Is that?"

"The unwanted one. They were going to…"

Her mate went silent. "And after, to you too."

The omega leaned against the elevator rail, ignoring the aching pain between her legs. "Thank you for saving me... for saving the both of us."

"Don't thank me yet."

The omega laughed dryly. Both noticed that they were nearing the top of the building and tensed, ready to fight and run as fast as they could.

The elevator slowly opened with a ding and immediately two blurs were seen. They ran out of the hidden building and into the unknown of the woods.
