528 Heartless (Ch.529)

Xenon knew what Neveah was about to do even before she did it, he knew her well enough to recognize the look in her eyes.

Even before he could hardly speak, he had studied her body signals for a long time, her facial expressions, every frown... the changes in her eyes that came with each thought.

And so, it did not surprise Xenon when Neveah got up to her feet and walked off in a rush.

Xenon's predator churned within him, he had made it clear there was just one answer he would accept and he did not resist his predator's demand to go after Neveah. 

"Let her go, Xenon." King Jian called to Xenon when he made to go after her.

Xenon paused in his step, passing a questioning look over to King Jian.

"I know you are not the patient one, but this time... you will have to be."
