4 Roaring Thunder

'I just don't want Miya to hate me for this,' Adonis thought.

He was doing all of this for his family. Even his family itself begins to hate him, there was no point in it. In this world, there was a strong sense of obsession with the Gods. They were preached and feared. Adonis turning against the Gods would naturally become the public enemy.

He can fear getting killed by the Gods later. He had to make sure he doesn't get killed by their followers first. He might be a demi-God. But what worth did he have against an entire army?

Miya knew that Adonis was worried. Both of them had gone through a lot together. But tough like these had never dawned upon them. She clasped onto his hand as she looked into his eyes making herself sink in them...

"Don't worry. I am always here for you, no matter what," she claimed.

Adonis smirked. All of his worries fleeted into thin air as his flirty nature resurfaced. And why won't it? Miya was being too cute.

"Then you would have to protect me as I cultivate," he claimed as his hands slipped into the worst places.

But Miya didn't mind. Ever since Adonis had claimed her as his there wasn't the least bit of decency between them.

Adonis took out the vial as he gulped it down. The hot fluid slipped through his neck as it reached his stomach. It was the blood of a God, rich with primordial energy. He could feel its energy raging in his stomach.

"Uggh," he grunted holding onto his gut.

He gritted his teeth, making Miya worry all over again. Seeing her distraught expression Adonis shook his head. No matter the pain, he had to bear it for the sake of his survival...

"I am fine. I just need some time to cultivate it."

He had cultivated with supplements of Miya's blood before for small strength boosts. But that was not enough to fight the Gods. Miya's blood whenever consumed felt like a fleeting and warm experience at most but the blood of true gods?

"It feels like a fire is burning in my innards intending to burn every cell of it.."

Adonis sat down crossed-legged on the floor as that was the position he could calm himself down the most. This was the position at which all of his chakra circles came to one proper line.

'Please work!' He prayed but the recipient of the prayer was no God, but lady fortune instead.

He closed his eyes. He was doing something he had never done before. In fact, no one had, He was taking a huge risk.

Adonis closed his eyes as he began absorbing the primordial energy contained in the blood. Had it been someone else his body would have burst open not being able to contain primordial blood. But Adonis was different. Being the son of Zeus had its own perks.

By some chance, if someone can survive consuming a God's blood even then only death awaited him for it is considered blasphemous to consume any part of a God. Not that any normal human had the chance of getting one.

Adonis too had no chance of getting the blood of the Goddess. Adonis knew the one to whom this blood belonged had ulterior motives. Otherwise 'she' would have never graced Adonis with her blood.

"Ugh…" Adonis grunted as he pulled his eyelids shut.

He could feel the blood getting absorbed and traveling in his blood vessels.

Meanwhile, Miya looked at Adonis with eyes of worry.

'I hope he is okay.'

Seeing him grunt in pain Miya wanted to hug him tight to make the pain go away. But she resisted the urge. She knew better than anyone else that it would cause trouble to the now cultivating Adonis.

*Bang*

*Crack*

"Kya!"

The sound of thunder made Miya jump in fright. It could only escalate her worries more. The sound of thunder wasn't a good sign for her.

She quickened her movement as she pulled onto her weapon holding it close to her plentiful chest. Her hunch was ringing bells. She knew that trouble was coming and it was time for her to prove her resolve.

She would have thrown herself in Adonis's arms to ward away her fears, but Adonis cannot be disturbed while he cultivates.

"Ha HA Ha Ha!" Mad laughter resounded from an unknown source.

Miya could only squint her eyes. While Adonis having cut off his senses was unaware.

"They are here," Miya whispered.

Adonis sat down to cultivate to prepare against those very enemies that were laughing like parrots. But it turned out he was late. They had come to him sooner than expected. Now only Miya could be relied on for his safety.

"I can't let them figure out that Adonis is here," Miya whispered. She looked left and right. A small window at the back of the house came to her view.

She gripped onto her battle axe tight as she made her resolve. With a nod, she ran towards the window and jumped off from it, finding herself outside in the rain and under the roaring sky.

"I have to distract them away."

Miya ran with everything she had got as she made sure that she kept an eye on the peasant's house Adonis was cultivating. The pursuers ran after her as their mad laughter resounded along with the crackling of the thunder.

"Ha Ha Ha."
