14 Way out! [2]

Lucy woke up the next day in the hospital bed and as soon as she regained consciousness, 

She sobs. 

She remembered the look in woman eyes and it haunted her. Lucy doesn't even know her name, and yet she sacrificed herself for Lucy's freedom.

"I need to get the hell out in here!" 

Lucy murmured and closed her eyes when she felt an intense pain below her belly, the stub was not fatal. She just realized that the woman must be knowledgeable in any medical related stuff, she was probably a surgeon. 

She was about to get up when someone spoke behind her in an annoyed voice.

"I did warn you to take care of yourself and yet you end up getting stub!"

"She was innocent!" she muttered, ignoring him. "Yet you killed her!"

"She was but when she stubbed you—" Kai paused and sigh. "After all the pain you went through you were still defending her? You could have been dead!"

"She was just a mother!" she sobs. "Her daughter will be left alone. . Oh, God!!"

"I wasn't the one who killed her!" Kai defended himself calmly. "Your safety is the most important"

And if you just know what's going on, you won't be acting like this! Kai wanted to yell her but stop himself.

Lucy silently clenched her fist in the sheet. Her safety is the most important part of the game, they were making sure that she will end of being a sacrificial pawn. 

"I'm sorry, but I am so tired, I want to be alone!"

Kai looked at her, he was hesitating to go out but with the determined expression in her face, he gives up.

"Fine my men is outside, call them if you want something!" 

Lucy did not answer. Kai took a final glance before leaving her.

"I should have asked her name!" she sobs again. "I should have said no to her, she could have been alive!"

Crying won't make any difference, she slowly got up and drag herself in the bathroom, She just wanted to check the situation outside. As soon as she showed up one police officer accompanied her, he helps her to carry the dextrose while she was limping.

"Thank you sir!" 

Lucy said politely, the officer stayed outside while she went inside to check her wound in the mirror. She suddenly felt the pain rushing through her veins, it was normal. Her brain is just reacting to her body.

She was about to go out when she saw a newspaper in the corner. Lucy picked it up, she was so shocked when she saw the headline.

"Maggie Navarro a former wife of business tycoon William Myer was shoot dead in the prison where she—"

Lucy suddenly drop the newspaper, her hands was trembling. The sudden realization come rushing to her mind.

"I'm sorry for what I did to you! I know you won't forgive me, I hope you understand, it's all because of my daughter. You have to get out in here no matter what, this is all I can do for you! You have to find the truth."

Those are the final words that the woman had told her in her dying moment and detective Santillan's expression was like telling her about something.

"I need to know the truth!" 

Lucy, rush out in the bathroom and bump with someone, she froze when she recognized the familiar scent. It was the scent that she smelled in her apartment.

She felt like throwing up, the police officer that saw her, throws a concern glance towards her.

"Where is detective Santillan, I need to speak to him!" 

The police officer stared at her in confusion. 

"He was full back a while ago—"

"Never mind!" she snapped and march towards her room.

She lay down still, staring at the ceiling. Planing all the things she wanted to do in her brain, she has to escape to matter what.

Lucy almost fell asleep when she heard someone talking outside. She listened carefully, her heart beats so fast when she realized what was going on.

She pretended to be asleep when she heard a footsteps coming inside. Lucy summoned all her courage and make herself ready.

The nurse that come was about to give her shots only God knows what kind of drugs it is, but she has a hint that it was not good for her.

Lucy suddenly grab the nurse hand by surprised and stub her with the syringe. The nurse fell on the floor in her vegetative state, Lucy was right after all it was a sedative. 

Five minutes later she was already out in the hospital. Lucy managed to walk casually as if she's no longer in pain and went inside the public rest room.
