7 BLUE

The two gentleman made their way out, she did not bother sending them off as she was drowned by the terrible news of Cassy's death.

She heavily leaned her back on the chair. Talking to the two detectives makes her felt tired and exhausted.

Lucy suddenly jerked when she remembered Ms. Myer.

"Do you know that Ms. Myer was murdered yesterday?"

The receptionist nodded when Lucy called her back.

"It was all over the news yesterday, I thought you knew about it!"

"If I knew why would I asked you if she'd come today does it make sense to you?

She reprimanded Caroline sharply and dismissed her afterwards.

Lucy felt it was strange that no one talked about in the clinic and her colleague seem to be discreetly avoiding her.

She didn't go home yesterday because of the heavy rain and there's no television in her office and beside she doesn't like watching any news.

Lucy hates news, It terrifies her the most it will haunt her down in the night and the memories of the terrifying accident she saw in the news back when she was a child will keep on coming back that gives her a nightmare and many sleepless night.

It was the accident that took both of her parents lives. That horrible news haunts her up to this day.

She could no longer imagine herself seeing the news about Cassy being murdered in the streets. Another pain that she could not easily forget.

The pain she had all this time is still inside her, she thought that being a psychoanalyst will cure her but nothings changed.

Lucy could cure her patient, but she realized no one could heal her even herself.

"What was going on?" Lucy sigh.

She doesn't know anything about Cassy, it's true that they establish some sort of friendship but that's it, no more no less.

Lucy felt terrible in Cassy's death, Cassy was her patient after all.

Meanwhile. .

"She is surely a pain in the ass!"

Kai hit the stirring wheel loudly, he let his frustration out by hitting the poor stirring wheel.

"You seem to be out of yourself, I never see you lost your control—"

"Damn it! I never seen such women like her either, she was so annoying!"

"She probably got you!"

Detective Flores absentmindedly told him out of the blue.

"You better watch your mouth before I'll throw you out!"

Kai yelled imperiously.

Detective Flores pressed his lips tightly, he knew better than anyone about his superior's temper. He is the most heartless and craziest human he'd ever known.

Nobody wants to mess up with him, if Kai excels in the field he hated the most then what else he could not do?

Everyone in the department knew how tough and weird their assistant Chief is, He'll throw up as soon as he sees bloods and the mere sights of a body being butchered by some ruthless outlaws disgust him but even so he had so many ways to solve the mystery and bring the culprit in jail and give justice to the poor souls!

"You think she could be a possible suspect?"

"No!" Kai said bluntly. "She was closed to Miss Myer the way she called her, haven't you noticed?"

"I did but—"

"She was too honest! She never lost any eye contact with me, instead of finding any information to her, it was like she was the one who find something to us!"

Kai paused.

"Besides, She also had a solid alibi and someone tampered the CCTV which was very suspicious. Also, Ms. Myer only got one single blow, it was a clean job only done by expert."

Kai shook his head.

"Have someone review the CCTV, I think there's a big mystery in this case."

"Got it sir!"

Kai thought something is off. The culprit probably got the wrong person, it could be that Doctor they wanted in a first place and killed somebody else instead?

The coincidence was too damn good!

Kai suddenly turn the car when he realized something.

"What happened?"

Detective Flores asked him confusedly.

"There's something I forget to asked about?" he hissed. "Why did we forgot that very important details?"

"What is that—"

"See, what if that Doctor wears that coat in the morning and someone is actually spying her, what do you think then?"

Detective Flores thinks for a while.

"You mean, they got a wrong person instead?"

"Bingo!" Kai snapped his finger. "Considering the fact that the only links Ms. Myer had with Doc. Mendor—"

"Mendoza!"

Detective Flores chuckled. This is one of his superior's weakness, he could not easily remember the names and faces.

"Doc. Mendoza!" he said sourly. "Was the coat!"

"Oh yeah!"

Detective Flores enthusiastically agreed like he hits the jackpot.

"But we have to confirm it first!" Kai sighed again. "There's something we should look also."

"What is that?"

"Ms. Myer was the first child in first marriage, there could be some conspiracy amongst her family."

"What if Doc. Mendoza is really innocent then who—"

"That's why we have to make a thorough investigation on this, we can't just put innocent people behind bars and let those bastard out and leave a happy life."

Kai said with a determination. He had a slight instinct that Doc. Mendoza would most probably be used as scapegoat if they could not find the real culprit.

They were near the clinic when Kai suddenly stop his car.

"I thought you want to ask her something?" Detective Flores frowned.

Kai suddenly stop in the distance when he saw Lucy coming out in the clinic with her blue umbrella as it was slightly raining, she was also carrying a blue designer bag.

It was enough to confirm his deduction.

"There's no need to asked her!"

He said without letting his eyes off to her, she was the most annoying women he knew, yet she's also the first one who caught his curiosity.

"Sir your phone's ringing, It's Lauren ?"

Detective Flores chuckled.

Kai jerked when he heard his girlfriend name. He didn't pick it up, he just let it ring for many times before it went out.
