Maid of Glass

A young girl survives a demon raid and becomes the last of her kind. She's taken to a different land where she experiences, sexism, discrimination, and hatred from the King and The people she eventually becomes Queen to. For every single thing she wants to do there are rules. For every single thing she'd like to say, there are punishments. She starts to wonder if she was really luck she survived the massacre. The hatred she faces is like wild fire and it leaves her feeling helpless and depressed. The King who was supposed to love and treasure her like he promised, ends up being the number one cause of her problems. The king remains a mystery to her, why he does things to hurt her, why he refuses to let her know his name, and why he'd sleep with another woman when she's available for each and everything he wants. She wonders how life would've been if she'd become the writer she'd always wanted to be when growing up. But being a Queen ended up being nothing like the fairy tales her mother told her but a real Nightmare. "Fragile like the petals that wrap around a bud or fragile like glass with cracks that have become my art? If I am the petals of my favorite flower, stems almost black, adorned with thorns with a pale yellow colour, I will fall like confetti into my own grave.
