18 Kingdom of Asgard and its influence

(Odin POV)

I was lying in bed with Gaea and contemplating the next changes. I have many things in mind, how to improve Asgard and Midgard, who is under our protection. The little Titans and Ouranos are busy expanding their influence and trying to grow in power. But their area of influence won't be nearly as much as they will hope for. Ouranos is an idiot if he believes that he can control the thirst for power in his children.

I have already seen the outcome of it and the future pantheons of earth and I am not going to let this come to pass. For one, I won't allow the Heliopolitans or Ennead to take the future Wakanda. They can stay in Egypt but that is all the favour I will grant Atum. Since I am basically his daddy now, he better behave. Should he transform into his Demogorge form, he is still very impressive, but I am beyond what he can handle, far beyond.

I will let the Greek Pantheon resolve themselves. The Olympians can have their small area of influence of Greece but only because Gaea seems to hold some affection for her children. When I told her about the Titans, Hecantochires and Cyclops, she was furious and almost killed Ouranos outright. She had gotten a bit more feisty since her training with me started.

Gaea forbade me from handling this 'problem' and decided to handle this herself. Let's just say, we can count on the Olympians forming in the future. I had to laugh when I saw what her 'handling' of the situation meant. She would pretty much do almost the exact thing as she does in mythology and pave the way for the Olympians to come. I don't like most of them, but since it is Gaea's wish, she shall have her wish. I will set the boundaries later when they start to believe themselves almighty.

.

So that means that the Olympians and the Heliopolitans will make an appearance sometime in the future. But most of the others, aren't going to appear. And why is that? Because I am not going to allow that. I will take 90% of Midgard under my rule and have the others rule their parts. Now when I say 'rule', I don't mean rule like a king, but more in giving them that area to influence and have followers. I will be the protector and ruler of Earth, I mean Gaea is my wife.

Most of the gods on earth are a group of superhumanly powerful beings that are worshipped. They come into existence by the worship and beliefs of humans and that is where they gain their powers from. But if I am the one taking care of all areas, then they won't come into existence. And even if they do, I will hold the most power here. And through that, I will get to introduce change and development in the direction I want.

I have already made up my mind. In those areas where Asgard will have its influence, I will give the humans special potential, similar to what the First Host of Celestials does, when they come. But that is for the far future since Gaea is still guiding the mammals through evolution, so it will take a few million years before that happens.

So now it is time to start with the development and improvements in Asgard. I wanted to make Asgard far stronger than it would be normally.

(3rd Person POV)

So Odin started to create plans for Asgard. What he wanted was to introduce technologies. Technologies that none of the races in the Universe had yet. For that, he would need to start at the beginning. And that beginning was children. Odin planned to create schools all around the city of Asgard and have everyone attend those. Money was not something that he lacked and he would much rather use his wealth to develop Asgard and its people.

And that's what he did. He called meetings upon meetings asking for the best architects. Using his powerful Observation Haki, he began to sketch a giant map of Asgard and every single house and hut that was located in and around the city. After that, he had the architects make the picture better than it was and had them create bigger maps from different districts. It was important to keep track of all development and not just start building.

Thousands of messengers swept through Asgard taking all the details about every family and inhabitant of the city. This was so Odin had a clear picture of what he was working with. It had to be noted how many people lived in a household, what the state of said household was and what the income was. The level of education and the martial prowess as well.

This process took a long time and was quite costly. But Odin was thinking long term, very long. He knew that he would succeed, it was hard not to if you had the power he had. Finally, a thorough and detailed load of information was before Odin. He knew all of this already thanks to the power of runes, but he needed physical evidence to work with and send out orders and the like. He had to be a king here.

After this initial process was over, it was time to rapidly increase the living conditions and plan the infrastructure of Asgard for future projects. So Odin went to work and brainstormed which building would best fit and where living arrangements would be best. Commercial districts also had to be created. After a while, Odin had decided and sent for the planners as well as overseers of different projects. Odin laid out his plans and where he wanted which building to be located.

.

It was a massive amount of work that this would take, but Odin was in no hurry. Slow and steady wins the race. Sometimes at least. When the builders and planners heard of all of this, they were left dumbfounded and confused. Most of the things Odin wanted to create didn't make sense to them. Why would the King order the creation of a building called 'University' when it wouldn't even be used? And what was the need for a separate commercial district? All those streets would cost money and not yield anything ... right?

It was clear that they didn't understand Odin's plans and vision. This was after all tens of millions of years before modern times on Midgard. But Odin had no interest in taking things slow when it came to his Kingdom. So the plans were set in motion and thousands of resident Asgardians had to leave their homes and stay in temporary homes. It was a giant chaos, that was only kept under control by the powerful presence of Odin himself who asked his subjects for patience and assured them that it would make Asgard and its people far greater than it was before.

Odin's unmatched charisma played a huge role in this process. The Essence of the King was to thank for that. Charisma to bend the will of entire nations and the sheer presence of a monarch that others would describe as divine was what everyone experienced and so they played ball and obeyed the command of their King and All-Father.

.

After working for many years, the residents could gradually go back to their new and massively improved homes. So as some could go back to their homes, others had to leave when their home was taken down and something better was created instead. Roads were created that led to the commercial districts, new giant houses and complex homes rose from the ground, schools were created and many more things.

Each home of an Asgardian was similar in size and comfort. We will discuss the changes in each home. While it didn't look like skyscrapers were created, Odin used magic to use space smartly. He had used his divinity of the sky and his power over magic to have houses be next to each other. He created 'artificial' space between the homes to give each family the space they needed and wanted, while technically still being right next to each other. Taht way, Odin could place nigh endless homes in Asgard, so the expansion was secured in that regard.

Each home was approximately 200-220 square metres of living space. There were enough bedrooms for the entire family to have one for each family member. Multiple bathrooms, a garden, kitchens, living rooms and more.

The water came from taps now, so no more collecting water. The water was cleaned using Odin's runes. He made sure to have several securities in place, to reduce the chance of poisoning the water. Toilets were introduced that functioned similarly to our toilets but instead of having to create sewers, Odin used his power and magic to teleport any waste produced on the toilet to special tanks, on which he had carved runes.

These tanks would then be later used for agriculture. Thanks to the runes, the waste was processed into the perfect fertilizer that could later be used.

Lighting was introduced that worked off of magic. Each home had to have one person who was capable of using magic. If there were people who didn't have that, there would be procedures that Odin was in the process of creating. He had the dwarfs of Nidavellir create medical cubes which could take in one person at a time. On these cubes, Odin added runes and what these runes did was, take energy from the air and condense it. After that this magical energy would form a small core that would then be fused with the person lying there, therefore granting them the power to wield magic.

There were securities in place of course, which could destroy the magical core in the instant the person went against any of Asgard's rules or betrayed them. The runes couldn't be tricked.

.

Teachers were to be trained to start teaching the children. A lot of subjects to be taught. Among those were sciences like maths, physics, biology, chemistry and the like, but there were also fighting and playing subjects. The smaller children up to the age of 5 would use this time to play around physically and those older would begin their training. After the basics had been taught, you could decide whether you preferred to go the physical route which included joining the army or rather went the other route.

But no group only knew one thing at a time. The soldiers would be taught at a slower rate, true, but they would be smarter and more independent as well. Giving rise to future promotions and good ideas as well as loyalty. Odin had no interest in raising sheep. He wanted wolves and a wolfpack was as strong as its weakest member.

Odin wanted to get engineers out of this, physicians, mathematicians and other scientists taht would improve Asgard and its people.

Odin didn't just want to expand, but improve upon everything. He had the magic and technology to do that. And if he didn't have the technology, he would create it or have others create it. That is why he created the schools and universities. He put his faith in the future generations and their success and inventions.

.

That's how the years went by and Odin kept track of everything and would create new divisions. One of those was a group of scholars and soldiers that would go and venture out to space in the realm of Midgard and uncover new technologies or magics. Odin of course saw all of these things happen and knew where to look for the best things and so these adventures had a lot of success.

Everything was going well ... except ... Odin still didn't have a child. The reason for that? Gaea wants to devote herself entirely to raising her children together with me. So now that I was destroying Asgard and building it back up, she decided to deal with her 'children' the Titans and have them free their brothers ... yeah Odin rolled his eyes at the futility of that notion. Gaea took care of the evolution of mammals and watched over them, while Odin was busy getting Asgard on track to where he knew they would be the greatest race, nation, and kingdom in the entire Universe.

But that didn't mean that they were separated. They were together every night. It was just a decision that they reached together. But the time for was coming to an end and both Gaea and Odin were eager to have children now. They genuinely loved each other, so that wish was natural.

The fact that they don't have children is the author trying to push the date of their birth further back. I don't want his children to be older than 1 million years old by the time modern stories start. That would be a bit much. So don't read into this fact too much.
