22 Stalling

Melisandra stabbed the boot knife directly into the ground. "Here, you should never visit if your life depended on it."

Odd cocked his head and looked at the elf as she grumbled.

"The entire western seaboard, really. It started with a small group of angels. Now, everyone and their fucking grandmother with a Holy Affinity runs over there. They constantly pick useless fights with Sodom and Gomorrah, shows how asinine their efforts are. The entire group is full of crazy's that will kill anything that isn't an angel or human. They're THE example of how Gob genes can wipe out the human race over time. They're all elitist and crazy as balls."

Odd nodded in affirmation as she continued talking of the factions of the continent.

When Odd reached the ritual room, it took him less than a second before he turned around and walked away.

Only to hit a wall that wasn't there a second ago.

"Fuck me."

"No thanks. I don't swing that way, but I must ask, anomaly. Are you here to steal my work? It won't be finished until tonight, so coming here was pointless."

Odd turned around to face the one in charge of the ritual and sighed, "The first intelligent Gob I meet in my life, just my fucking luck."

Name: Clay Zul

Race: Earth Gobem, T3

Race details: Either they are artificially created or born by a Slimeborn Earth Golem that obtains the genetic material of a Gob. They follow a strict evolution path devoted to their high earth affinity and increasing the stat of their [Body] unless they can find a way to become Enlightened or mutated further. They can be identified by their perfectly goblin appearance with skin made of some kind of in-organic material from the earth and the pale colored pupils of their eyes that lack sclera or irises.

Target for [Ritual of Material Strengthening]

Mid T3 affinities were around 15.0 Odd's highest magical stat was his [Yin Lighting Affinity], that sat at 2.3. Odd was NOT an idiot like other Gobs. Odd knew how royally fucked he was. He needed a plan, because that motherfucker damn near-instantaneously created a wall across the room behind the Living Ghoul that covered the entire doorway. It was the kind of elemental manipulation that Sophia used in the past to cook the Hawk he rode to death.

"I don't suppose you could be a kind sir and let your wall down so we can leave each other in amicable peace or maybe a non-aggression pact??"

Clay Zul blinked his weird brown eyes that had a pale, green speck at the center of each of them, "Kind sir? What the fuck happened to you to evolve this way?"

"Uhh," Odd thought of a retort. "A loving mother?"

"You aren't a Halfling though," the Gobem answered like it solved anything. "Love doesn't make sense in the first place, so it's obvious you fucked up somehow."

"Wait," Odd paused. "That's the problem, Gobkind can't get along with others because you don't understand what love is?"

Clay Zul hocked up a loogie of mud and spit it on the ground, "Of course I understand what it is whelp, I've been on this mudball for 150 years. Do I look like one of those savages, waving my dick around, banging my head on rocks?"

Inwardly, Odd was really interested how a Gobem's penis worked. The one in front of him wasn't wearing clothes and between his legs was completely bare. However, the Living Ghoul couldn't get distracted while he had his imminent death to worry about at the moment.

"If you know what it is, then why doesn't it make any sense?" Odd queried.

The Gobem looked at him like he was an idiot, "I don't know why I haven't killed you yet, but it doesn't make sense because what is the point? Personal attachments? Selflessness doesn't make you feel anything but death, why would anyone want these things?"

Odd answered as he finished scoping out the room, "Coincidentally, I've been thinking about that a lot while I walked through your nice tunnel down here..."

Name: Ritual of Material Strengthening

Materials Used: 1,000 Power Stones and T3 Flame Slime (Myyx Babs)

Intent: Using the supplied Power Stones, the ritual cracks the sacrifice's soul, drawing as much power from the Connection that can be drawn before its cut off and uses the built up energy to increase the durability of the material that make up the target(Carl Zul)'s body

Name: Myyx Babs

Titles: [Hermit]

Race: Humanoid Flame Slime, T3

Race details: An evolved Slimeborn that bonded to fire itself. They follow the, 'flames,' evolutionary path and qualify as Enlightened, as their offspring is never a Proto-Gob. They boast high fire affinities. Differing from non-humanoid Slimes, humanoid Slimes always pick one form and find it difficult, but not impossible, to change it later. Flame Slimes always have a red, fiery shade to their gelatin.

At this point in time, Odd knew he only had two options. One, he could use his yin lighting and go through the wall behind him like a drill. The Living Ghoul was pretty confident it would work. But why would he ever run away when he saw a perfectly good way to win ahead of him?

He quit stalling and answered the Gobem on why you would want to have love in your life, "Because of that warm, funny feeling in your chest, of course. It can't be beat."

Myyx, trapped in chains and in excruciating pain, blinked, not believing what she heard.

Clay Zul thought he was being mocked and clenched his fist, planning to end Odd's petty life in an instant.
