1 Onset of Chaos

Now you've done it. You didn't know how it happened. But you beat the president of Hyakkaou Private Academy in a simple gamble. One toss of a coin and there she is, a house pet of yours. But that's not the only thing that bothers you.

"Isn't that the president?" You heard a student whisper.

"Why is she following that lame ass?" Another whisper.

"Maybe she did something wrong."

"Or maybe she's the Pres' personal pet now."

You heard giggles all around you. Wherever you walk, people talk about how lame and stupid you are.

"Bitches" you whispered.

You tilted your head a bit to look at the President. She doesn't seem bothered by anything. In fact, she seems to be enjoying it. Her cryptic smile never faltered.

"How did this even happen? Oh right."

You pulled a coin in your pocket and looked at it.

"My most prized possession. The only gamble I know."

You stopped walking. You threw the coin upwards and caught it midway.

Earlier....

'Ugh. Dammit. I swear I'll get back at this bitches.' you thought to yourself.

You slump in all fours in front of a blonde woman. She sat in a chair and used you as her footstool. Everyone around her chatted and laughed at how you look.

"You'll never be anything but a house pet if you don't know any other gamble. You're not even that rich. If you weren't smart academically, you wouldn't be here."

Everyone laughed. You can't do anything but cry. Then suddenly the president showed up.

"(Y/n), come.." she said briefly.

Her and the blonde engaged in a little staring contest. She looked angry. 

'I don't know what I did to deserve this. From Mary-san to the President. It's like I'm out of the frying pan and into the fire.' you thought.

Mary-san kicked you on the side and you stumbled.

"Fine. Take her. She's lame anyway."

You didn't know what to do so you just stood up and ran to the president like a scared cat. You looked back at Mary and saw her staring at you. She was frowning but there was something in her expression that you can't quite figure out.

"Let's go." You heard the president say.

The two of you walked in silence until you reached her private office. She sat on a sofa and gestured for you to do the same in the adjacent seat.

"I have an offer for you. Do you want to escape Mary-san and stop being a house pet all in all? I'll give you one chance. A gamble."

She crossed her legs and smiled at you.

"I... I don't know how to gamble." you said and lowered your head.

"Oh? I think that isn't true. I saw you once. You used a coin to gamble. Why don't we do that?"

You gulped. She waited for your answer patiently.

"What are the gains?" you asked.

"Large sums of cash if you win. At least 10 million.

"10 million!?" you almost lost your mind. "And if I lost?"

She pretended to think for a while.

"You walk out of this room as if nothing had happened."

"What? That's absurd."

"I told you. I'll give you only one chance. Take it or leave it."

"O..Okay!"

'This doesn't seem so bad, right?' you thought.

You took out your coin. It was a token given to you.

"Pick. Heads or tails?" you asked.

"Tails." she answered.

"Alright. If it's head, I win."

You gulped and tossed the coin. Everything seemed to go in slow motion. You caught the coin. You felt the bumps on it and knew where the head or tail was. A little sleight of hand and you slammed your hand on the table.

"Alright. Here goes." you said.

You lifted your hand slowly until the coin showed. Heads. You win. You're sweating bullets.

'Will she notice?'

You looked at her and saw her smiling.

'Crap. She knew, didn't she?'

She suddenly clapped her hands.

"Congratulations. But that's too bad. I only have half the cash in me. I'll have to think of another way to pay you back."

"Th- That's fine! I'll take it and let's forget about this alright? I won't tell anybody I swear."

"Ah. I know." She wasn't listening. "I'll be your personal pet."

"What?" your jaw dropped.

Back to present.

You turned around to look at the one behind you.

"Alright Momobami-sama. What's your deal anyway? You could easily pay me off in full. Why choose to pay me half and be my pet instead?" you asked when nobody else was around.

She just smiled at you.

"Oh crap. You creep me out!" you said.

"Don't talk to her like that! She's still the president!" her assistant, Sayaka Igarashi suddenly showed up.

"It's quite alright Sayaka." The president spoke up.

"But-"

"Shhh." she put her finger to Sayaka's lips to silence her. "Just go back to the council room and keep an eye for me."

"If you say so President." she bowed and looked at you angrily before going away.

You let out a breath you didn't notice you we're holding. The student council guys are plenty scary for you.

"Classes are over. I'm going home." you said.

"Are you not gonna stay for a while to gamble?" she asked.

"Nah. I still got a lot of spare cash from you for the next couple of months. I don't have to worry much."

You went out of the academy. You didn't live that far so you decided to walk home. You we're halfway there when you stopped walking.

"Ugh seriously!?" you blurted out.

You closed your eyes and clenched your fists. You swear you felt a vein pop in your head. When you opened them back, you turned around and pointed at someone.

"What the heck are you doing!? You're not planning to follow me home are you!?" you said.

She laughed.

"That's exactly what I was thinking. Now continue walking. Don't mind me."

"Seriously. Stop it. We're not at the academy anymore."

"Whoever said being a pet stops once you're out of the academy? I know I didn't say anything like that at all." she crossed her arms and smiled.

Thus began your chaotic relationship with Momobami Kirari.
