4 Chapter 4: Dimension Siphoning

It was early morning the next day when I received an alert from Kiki. Turns out the scanning bots I'd left behind had found something close to the edge of the forest. Something that hadn't been there before. A smile lit up my face at the good news. School had been called off for the day due to the damages sustained to the buildings and property. After checking up on the rest of the family, I went for my morning run.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hovered 10 meters from the ground, looking at the deep hole surrounded by freshly unearthed soil. Even after the scanning bots had found the place, I'd had to buy earth bending from the store to dig a bit more for easier access. I could have probably done it through telekinesis but I chose earth bending for more convenience. I looked at the darkness that was subtly tempting me, a mystery waiting to be solved.

I cancelled my flight and dropped inside, slowing my descent when I was near the ground. I couldn't see anything however.

" Kiki, is Photokinesis available in the store?"

(Yes Alex, should I buy it for you?)

I nodded as golden light started to cover my palm, highlighting the walls of the cave. I formed a ball of light and guided it to hover a few feet in front of me. I smirked, damn, my powers are so broke.., cough, I mean useful. Maybe later, I should buy the sharingan just for the heck of it. Nah, one thing I'd realized, was that despite everything being free in the system store, they were either locked or in their base forms. For example, I couldn't buy the eternal sharingan without first evolving my eyes to the mangekyo. Magic and chi attacks were not that useful due to the low concentration of mana and qi in the air. This was a lower tier world after all. That, however, didn't mean I couldn't use them, it just took more effort.

The tunnel emptied into a wide spherical cavern that was roughly a 100 meters in diameter. The entrance was where the power crystals, a name I'd come up with, were located. As if detecting my presence they started pulsing with a red color.

(Spatial fluctuations detected. Unknown rays blocked.)

"Kiki, scan the pulse and tell me what effect they might have on me."

(The pulse is as a result of transmission of unknown rays to any living being with superior brain activity, or in other words, sapient creatures. The rays cause an increase in neural activity and the reinforcement of brain cells to stimulate the awakening of psychic powers. The effect on you will be minimal as you are already a psychic. The rays might only strengthen your current powers.)

Well, I'd expected that.

"Kiki, unblock the transmission but minimize the speed of the operation. I don't want to pass out here."

The pulsing grew erratic as the rays came into contact with my brainwaves, I could feel my telekinesis range growing as well as my observation haki. I could probably fly at mach 3 speed now. Better watch out Koro sensei, I'm coming for you.

I reached out my hand to touch the power crystals. I'd expected it to be cool to the touch but it was the opposite. This was something revolutionary, if put in the hands of someone qualified, there'd be major progress in the field of science. My plan was to give powers to Andrew, Matt and Steve, just like in the movie. I didn't want to change that because I didn't know what to expect in the future.

The galactic organization was not the only threat to the earth, there was also the origins of the power crystals to consider. I had a feeling that it wasn't a mere coincidence that they'd found their way to earth. Further speculation would have to be done later, for now i have a cavern to explore. I expanded the lightball to lighten the cavern making it look like a miniature sun. The walls of the room were a grey color and in the centre was a pedestal made out of crystals that looked like the one on the fortress of solitude. I made my way to it, flying like Black Adam, 20 meters from me it started glowing in a bright yellow color that put my light ball to shame, so I dismissed it.

A beam of light shot from the pedestal to the roof of the cavern, impacting it with a boom! I flew backwards as the grey walls started melting like butter in the sun, forming a viscous liquid on the floor. In a strange sight, the liquid begun to form into humanoid silhouettes, completing the transformation to look like the robots from I-robot. There were about 50 of them and their arms were shaped into long swords. Welp, that was unexpected.

"Kiki, what's going on?"

(Scan shows that this is a security protocol to prevent access to the main control system.)

"You mean the pedestal thing? So that means I can get answers as to the origins of this entire structure. Can you hack for the information if I get to it?"

(Affirmative.)

"Well, time for a fight then."

The robots had already surrounded me during our exchange, effectively cutting me off from the entrance. I spread out my hands as they jumped at me, hoping to skewer me with their long swords. I caught hold of the ones nearest to me and bashed them to the wall with my telekinesis. They melded into it and dropped to the floor in liquid form before reforming into robots again, but this time they seemed bulkier. I turned my attention to the rest and begun to cut them apart with my improvised forcefield. I'd come up with the idea to form it into a thin line. Something that required a lot of concentration but increased its cutting power. It was a complete massacre. The ground was littered with 30 destroyed robots.

The bulkier ones chose to stay back after witnessing my power. Their arms transformed from swords into plasma guns, starting to shoot at me from long range. 5 forcefields formed in front of me, stacked upon each other. The red beams collided with the first one breaking it, but deflecting upon the second one. I waved my hand and slammed them back to the wall. The scene from before repeated itself, this time, they transformed into something akin to the mark 3 iron man suit. Initially there were 20 of them but now there were only five. It seemed like they had merged to create something stronger. Just like iron-man they could also fly. Unlike iron-man they had deadlier lasers that managed to destroy 3 of my forcefields.

"Kiki, are you done with the scan?"

(Analysis complete. The current robots are formed from nanotechnology, unlike the ones from earlier made with a metal that is highly resistant to blunt attacks. The current ones have a core that is holding the nanites together.)

" How do I locate those cores?"

I asked as I evaded in the air, my flight patterns were limited because of the small area so I was running out of time.

(The cores are mobile and do not linger in one place for long. I anticipate a 30% chance of destroying them in the current situation.)

Damn, how was I going to get out of this? I'd tried to storm out through the entrance but it had already been covered by grey matter. Then it hit me.

"Kiki, do you have lightning magic in the store?"

(Affirmative Alex, do you wish to buy it? I must warn you that it won't be strong enough to disrupt the transmission between the core and the nanites.)

Well, there goes my plan. I started getting frustrated because, even though I had crazy regeneration I hated pain.

"Then what do you propose Kiki?"

(Dimension siphoning is available. Its an alternative to magic, being more powerful but also more volatile. If you choose dimension siphoning, your ability to do magic will be locked until you get to a magic-seeded world.)

"Magic-seeded world? What do you mean…wait you know what, let's leave it for later. Buy all elemental dimension siphoning powers."

A thrum of power shot through me and I instantly felt energized. From what I could perceive, I was drawing power from different elemental dimensions.

"Time to die, you metal bastards. Chain lightning!"

I shouted as scarlet lightning shot from my fingers. It passed through the robots, frying the cores and destroying the transmission. I watched as the robots were reduced to grey puddles on the floor. By then my hair and eyes were bright scarlet with small arcs of lightning flashing through them as I looked at my reflection on the power crystals. I now had a favorite power. Dimension siphoning was dope!
