2 Chapter 2: The birth

(System uploading…..installation complete.)

(Scanning…...1 month before birth. No abnormality detected. Host awakening….done.)

As my consciousness returned to me, I felt my body enveloped in a warm liquid. The system logs appeared in my mind and i was surprised that I was one month away from being born.

"System, can you explain your functions to me?"

(Of course host. My functions include..)

- world merger [ lower tier worlds only]

If I could, I would have whistled. The void core attribute, mmh let's call him Cosmic Alex, was kind enough to include the world merger as a function in the system. That would be very convenient for me, as I had no idea on how to contact him again. I mean, he did say we were only going to meet after I conquered the void, whatever that meant.

" OK system, show me my status."

"Mmh, how come my status is different from the norm?"

(The System judged the extra physical stat display to be meaningless. Presenting the current status as it is, is more convinient.)

"OK, but what if I max out a stat? For example, if I get my stamina to infinite level?"

(If that happens, then the host will have reached the godhood realm and by then the status would serve nothing because at that level, power is measured by law comprehension.)

I thought it out for a while, then decided to let the system have it's way.

" I'm getting tired of calling you 'system' all the time. Let's give you a name. What do you think of….. KIKI?"

(Confirmed, changed designation to KIKI.)

" KIKI, can you scan my mother's body for any underlying conditions or health issues? If there are, use the system shop to buy a healing potion and use it on her."

(scanning… dormant cancer cells detected…using healing potion…done.)

" Scan Andrew detmer, my brother, for any abnormality in his genetic makeup."

I had to be sure that when he got exposed to the strange crystals in the woods, the change came from external causes. Not to mention, his telekinesis was way stronger than Matt's and Steve's.

(No abnormalities detected.)

Mmh, guess I was wrong. Maybe, it was all the apex predator bullshit that drove him to become strong. The kid, basically hypnotized himself. I knew what was in store for him and I wanted to change that. Some, might wonder why I was so invested in all of this, however, my answer would be, that I wanted to feel again...I wanted to love, to hate, to laugh, cry and everything else that made humans well human. The void had messed up my EQ. For all the power I had, I didn't want to lack the motivation to use it.

Choosing to reincarnate in chronicle was an experiment, to find out if by helping someone, I could help myself too.

"OK, KIKI, do I get a starter pack."

Whoa, that was quite the the gift, I guess. Especially the flash's power. I'd always wondered how it felt like being the fastest man alive.(sorry usain bolt, ain't talking bout you). With such abilities, I could hopefully deal with whatever the council dished out if they survived the ordeal with Neil Clarke. Speaking of which, what a terrifying dog! It actually annihilated a galactic organisation that had the power to destroy the solar system with just a wave of it's paw. Tsk, can't believe that this is my life now.

Even though my emotions were numbed, I was a bit excited to meet the characters, I'd only seen on screen. I wanted to interact with them, get to know them and help the ones who needed it, even though it was a bit selfish on my part. After getting my starter pack, I chatted with Kiki for a bit and then proceeded to sleep, waiting for the time I'd be born.

One month later, to a Richard and Karen detmer, two lovely baby boys were born.
